Ascophyllum nodosum

Knotted wrack is a macroscopic brown alga and contains an ideal composition of important vital substances. It contains minerals such as magnesium, calcium and potassium as well as the trace elements iodine and iron. It also contains alginate, which binds heavy metals and can have a detoxing effect.

Ascophyllum nodosum is used as a nutritional supplement and in animal feed and pet food as a straight feed as well as a supplement against deficiency symptoms.

In cosmetics Ascophyllum nodosum is used as a moisturising, revitalising and detoxing ingredient.

Bladder wrack Fucus vesiculosus

The marine, macroscopic brown alga Fucus vesiculosus is also referred to as bladder wrack. It is rich in minerals and trace elements and is used in animal feed and pet food as well as a supplement against deficiency symptoms in animals.

In the cosmetics industry the alga is used in skin care products as well as in thalasso treatments as a moisturising, revitalising and detoxing ingredient as well as in anti-aging products or as a natural exfoliant.

Lithothamnium calcareum is also known as coralline or red algae. It is particularly rich in calcium with excellent bioavailability. It too contains high levels of trace elements.

The alga is an exceptional vegetable source of high-grade calcium. As a ground powder it is used in nutritional supplements and as an additive in animal and pet food.

In the cosmetics sector it is used in wellness and thalasso treatments by virtue of its cleansing and absorbing properties. It can also be added to algae baths and bath salts. In addition, it can be used as a natural exfoliant in skin cleansing products.

Chlorella

Chlorella (Chlorella sp.) is a spherical green alga that mainly thrives in fresh water. For decades it has been used in Asia as a health stimulating natural product.

Chlorella is rich in protein and contains all essential amino acids as well as a broad spectrum of vitamins and minerals. The carotenoids have an antioxidant and detoxing effect.

With its high concentration of nutrients Chorella is used in dietary supplements and to enrich the nutritional value of food and animal and pet food.

In cosmetic products Chlorella is used as a revitalising and antioxidant component in anti-aging products and in thalasso therapies.

Spirulina

Spirulina is a genus of cyanobacteria, also known as blue-green algae and has the highest protein content of all naturally occurring foods. It contains all essential amino acids, high-quality protein and a wide range of vitamins and minerals, especially Vitamin B12.

Spirulina is used in food and pet food as a nutritional supplement as well as in dietary supplements. In view of its high protein content it is ideal as a supplement in vegan diets.

The cosmetics sector uses Spirulina as a revitalising and antioxidant component in anti-aging cosmetics and in thalasso therapies.

Algae Powder DHA+

Our Algae Powder DHA+ is made of Aurantiochytrium sp. micro algae, unicellular protista, which subsist on dead plant material. They are excellent producers of Omega-3 fatty acids and in particular DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). Our Algae Powder is therefore a deeply interesting vegan alternative to fish oil.

Aurantiochytrium sp. is cultivated industrially. As the algae do not perform photosynthesis, they grow at a very high rate. Our Algae Powder contains at

least 17% DHA and is an innovative feed supplement for dogs, cats, horses, cattle and aquaria.

Algae Oil 40 % DHA

Our Algae Oil 40% DHA is extracted from the micro alga Schizochytrium sp. Originally, they were considered a marine fungus, but were later classified as a thraustochytrid. Micro algae are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. The extracted oil is a highly interesting vegan alternative to fish oils. We guarantee that our Algae Oil 40% DHA contains at least 40% of the Omega-3 DHA (docosahexaenoic acid).

Algae oils are rich in health-stimulating EPA and DHA. As these fatty acids are valuable for maintaining healthy eye sight, cognitive functions and a strong cardio-vascular system, algae oils are often found in dietary supplements. In addition, it is used in the food industry as a nutritional additive in spreadable fats, salad dressings, breakfast cereals as well as baked goods.

In the pet food sector algae oils are used as a high-quality straight feed for dogs and cats as well as for cattle.

Green-Lipped Mussel Powder

Our Green-Lipped Mussel Powder is obtained from the ground meat of New Zealand green-lipped mussels (Perna canaliculus). The green-lipped mussel is an endemic species of New Zealand, where it grows and thrives in the open sea.

The powder contains long-chain GAGs (glycosaminoglycans), which are also found in joints, cartilage and connective tissue. It also has valuable omega-3 fatty acids. The combination of ingredients has an anti-inflammatory effect and can support the body in building connective tissue, joint cartilage and synovial fluid. Green-Lipped Mussel Powder is given to humans and animals to combat inflammatory joint conditions and to prevent arthritis.

In addition to our “Standard Quality”, we stock the following special qualities: For our “Plus Quality” the mussels are carefully opened by means of cold treatment. The “Defatted Quality” is a by-product from the oil production.
