According to the textbook, Web 2.0 is a loose cloud of capabilities, technologies, business models, and philosophies that characterize the new and emerging business uses of the internet.

Web2.0 websites should deliver web based applications to Internet users and allowing them to make use of these applications through a web browser.

A web2.0 website should implement social networking capabilities allowing users to interact with each other and create friend lists.

A Web2.0 websites should allow it's users to exercise various controls over the website data and content (adding/deleting/editing content).

An employee has a problem with the computers and the IS department. He/she is complaining about the programs not working the right way, and prefers to use a different program.

How can we solve his problem?

The Manager can take the side of the IS Department.› Find out why there are problems occurring

and try to fix them› Explain to the employee that there are

going to be certain locks on the computer to make sure important information is safe

› Information systems help a business achieve its goals and objectives so the manager should trust them

The Manager can take the Employees side.› Giving the employees a little more freedom

on the computer. › Maintain the basic necessities such as

virus scan and other programs › Make sure the work is still done on time› This should cause a less stressful bunch of

employees

Having someone from the IS department go talk to the employee› This would solve things quicker.› The employee can explain his/ her

problems› The problem can be solved› The manager doesn’t have to get involved

If an employee develops a new protocol and it is rejected by the IS Department, which side should the manager choose?› As the Manager, the smart thing to do is

trusting the IS Department. The IS Department is always looking to make things easier and safer for the company
