Congratulations! 2019 Teacher of the Year
Mr. Bill Decker
We are so proud of our Teacher of the Year, Mr. Bill Decker. He graduated from Blinn University with an Associate of Arts degree and Lamar University with a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science degree. He has taught Math, Algebra and College for a total of 25 years. He taught at Edison Middle School for 2 years, C.O. Wilson Middle for 23 years and also, Lamar State College for 20 years.
Bill is married to Nan Decker. This past August they celebrated their 44th year wedding anniversary. They have 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
Bill is looking forward to taking road trips, and his hobbies are bow hunting and archery.
Thank you for demonstrating the continued commitment required to achieve excellence and success. You make a difference each day developing a love of learning in your students. You will be missed by your co-workers. Congratulations!
HAPPY RETIREMENT
Bill Decker has taught for 24 years at C.O. Wilson. Mr. Decker taught 2 years at Edison Middle School along with 20 years at Lamar State College in Port Ar-thur. Mr. Decker is a graduate of Blinn College and Lamar University. He has taught Math, Algebra and College Algebra. He has also spent many summers working camps at NASA.
Debbie Ferguson has 20 years of service with NISD. Mrs. Ferguson also taught at Coakley Middle School in Harlingen for 8 years. She graduated from the Uni-versity of North Texas. She has taught Earth Science, Social Studies, Math, Reading and ELAR. We will miss your sweet smile for sure!
Sandra Wooley has 16 years of service at C.O. Wilson. Mrs. Wooley also worked for 9 years with the Huntsville ISD. She and her husband will be relocating to Sidney, Texas.
Katie Coats has worked at C.O. Wilson for 9 years. She went to cosmetology school at Lamar University and worked as a Hair dresser for 30 years. She will be especially missed by the students in the cafeteria.
Robert Mannino has taught for 13 years at C.O. Wilson. He has a total of 38 years in the field of education. He taught 7th and 8th grade Science at C.O. Wilson. He has also taught at Warren, Wood-ville, Bridge City, Port Arthur, and East Chambers.
Bertram Hebert has taught at C.O. Wilson for the past 4 years. Mr. Hebert has a total of 20 years in the Education field. He graduated from Lamar with a BS in Kinesiology and a math certification. He has also taught in Vidor, Beaumont and Port Arthur.

To recognize and bring aware-ness to the need surrounding children who are removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect, Student Council is collecting items during the month of April for Region 5 Child Protective Services Rainbow Room.
Items needed: clothes, socks pajamas, diapers, wipes, and underwear.

C.O. Wilson Student Council is
sponsoring an End of the Year 80’s dance on Friday, May 10
th.
Tickets will go on sale May 1st. Students who purchase a ticket in advance will receive a prize the night of the dance. The cost of the ticket is $5. The dance will be from 6:30-8:30 for 5
th-8
th
graders. 8th
graders only are invited to stay until 9:30. We hope all students will be able to attend and celebrate our school year coming to an end.

recently added. As the year progresses,
more projects will be added, so keep
