Fall is o cially here, and we’re excited for what’s to come: stepping on crunchy leaves, smelling the crisp, cool air, donning cozy annel, and of course, consuming all-things pumpkin spice. And if you’re thinking, “Has pumpkin season sprouted early this year?” It certainly has! Many of the pumpkin classics have already returned, including Alki Bakery’s Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mu ns and Ellenos’ Pumpkin Pie Greek Yogurt, along with a handful of other fall-tastic products, sans the pumpkin spice.

While it’s hard to say goodbye to warm, sunny days, we’re making the transition easier by creating a fall bucket list. (We challenge you to do to the same!) This month, we’re planning to pick gourds at our favorite pumpkin patches around the Sound, wear our best costumes to Zoo Boo, and most importantly, cook hearty food to help stay warm and cozy all season long.

Speaking of food, inside this issue, we have autumn-inspired treats you can make with the kids, as well as a classic recipe featuring our buttermilk.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, combine our, baking powder, and salt. Do you have a favorite milkman moment? We want to hear it and share it! Send us an email at: [email protected]

Our milkman, Charlie is the best! We call him Mr. Stealth milkman because he doesn’t set o the motion part of our ring doorbell. I only get noti cations if he actually rings the doorbell. If he is o for some reason and we have someone else deliver to our porch they set o the motion sensor.

Charlie is always friendly and brings in our order if I catch him, especially when we order our turkey at Thanksgiving and prime rib for Christmas. Our old delivery day was Friday. I had put in a pretty large order that was scheduled to be delivered on the day the “big snowstorm” was going to hit around noon. Charlie rang our doorbell that day and when my husband answered the door Charlie said “I have your snowpocalypse order for you!” Thankfully he came before the snow started falling hard because we were snowed in for over a week!

I tripped and fell on my front porch one morning whilst trying to take a photo. I twisted my back as I fell. I was laying there, in pain, unable to get

up on my own, waiting for my family to return when our Milkman arrived. He checked on me

and helped me. He even o ered to stay with me until my family arrived. I was grateful for the o er,

but let him continue on his way.

He had helped me into a more comfortable position, and veri ed 3 times that I was "ok to move" and even

then was very careful and gentle in helping me shift. My family arrived 3 minutes later and helped me inside.

For his care and assistance, taking the time, and his o er to stay until help arrived, he deserves a huge THANK YOU.
