The project fights poliomyelitis through a large-scale, pulse vaccination program and monitoring for polio cases. With the global initiative of eradication of polio in 1988 following World Health Assembly resolution in 1988, Pulse Polio Immunization program was launched in India in 1995 In this program batch of 63 students from BMS and BA (MMC) participated in 6 days long Pulse Polio Immunization campaign under the aegis of National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit, from 15th September 2019 to 20th September 2019 at Bandra Terminus railway station and Market area of Bandra. Oral polio doses were administered to 480 children under the age of five years. Dr. Yogesh Ingle (NSS-Program officer), was the program coordinator with Dr. Tejas Shaha and their team from the Keherwadi BMC hospital spearheaded the campaign. Pulse Polio Immunization Program

eliminate poliomyelitis (polio) in India by vaccinating all children under the age of five

On 13th September, 2019, Dr Tejas Shaha and his team from BMC guided students

about the program in the presence of Faculty members in the classroom of SRBS,

Bandra.

On 15th September, 2019, students administered polio vaccine at Kherwadi Maternity

Home, Bandra & Bandra Terminus.

On 16th September, 2019, students administered vaccine at Kherwadi Maternity Home

& Bandra Terminus.
