RUTH CATHERINE BROWN

Mrs. Ruth Catherine Brown, 93, of Pulaski, for-mally of Dunlow, W.Va., died Aug. 10, 2013, at Maury Regional Hospital, Columbia.

She was b o r n i n Oakville, W . V a . , April 11, 1 9 2 0 , and was a homemaker. She is pre-ceded in death by her husbands, Millard Damron Sr. (28 years), Z.T. Brown (29 years); parents, Er-nest Earl and Dexter Mae Thompson Brown; and sons, Donald Damron and Charles David Damron Sr.

Funeral services were held Aug. 12 at Spring Hill Memorial Park Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Rick Broadway offi ciating. Burial was in Spring Hill Memorial Park.

Survivors include sons, Millard Curtis Damron Jr. of Dickson, Henry L. Damron, John Damron, both of Pulaski; sisters, Mildred Smith of How-ard, Ohio, Christine Simp-kins of Lavalette, W.Va.; brothers, Russell Brown of Groveport, Ohio, Lacy Brown of Athens, Ohio; numerous grandchildren, g rea t -g randch i ld ren , great-great-grandchildren; and numerous niecesand nephews.

DONALD XERXES MEADOR

Mr. Donald Xerxes Meador, 82, of Huntsville, Ala., died Aug. 13, 2013.

The Cloverport, Ky., na-tive was born May 8, 1931. He joined the Army in 1951 and was stationed in Okinawa for two years. Mr. Meador graduated from the University of Kentucky in May 1958 and spent most of his career work-ing as an engineer for SCI Systems. He was a mem-ber of Whitesburg Baptist Church since 1974 and is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held Aug. 18 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. In lieu of fl owers, memorials may be made to Hospice Family Care, 3304 Westmill Dr., Huntsville, AL 35805.

Survivors include wife of 61 years Tula; son Colonel Steven Meador and wife Terica of Pulaski; daughter Lori Meador of Huntsville, Ala.; grandchildren, Bran-don Moody, Abbey Moody, Sarah Meador, Courtney Meador; sister Jean Cahal of Lewisport, Ky; brother Gary Meador of Borden, Ind.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gabe and Elnora Wallace of Hunts-ville; and many nieces and nephews.

DOROTHY MAE KIRBY WOLLARD

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Kirby Wollard, 67, of Prospect died Aug. 11, 2013, in Bir-mingham, Ala.

She was born in De-catur, Ill., Dec . 20 , 1945, and is preceded in death by her husband James Ernest Wollard; and parents, Virgil Dowman and Irene Boneham Kirby.

Funeral services were held Aug. 14 at Bennett-May-Giles Giles County Funeral Home. Burial was in Giles Memory Gardens.

Survivors include son Howard Wollard of Pros-pect; and brother Harold Kirby and wife Dorothy of Washington.

JOANN WATKINSMrs. JoAnn Watkins,

69, of Pulaski died Aug. 12, 2013, at Countryside Healthcare & Rehab in Lawrenceburg.

She was born April 27, 1944, and is preceded in death by her sis-ter Susie Watkins.

Mr. Michael Wayne Hargrove, 47, of Pulaski died Aug. 12, 2013, at his home.

Mr. Har-grove was b o r n i n P u l a s k i O c t . 3 , 1965, and worked at Hargrove Body Shop. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Calvin and Mary Lou Hargrove.

FLOYD EDWARD SMITHMr. Floyd Edward Smith,

89, of Ardmore, Ala., died Aug. 13, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Ardmore, Tenn., Dec. 23, 1923, and was the son of the late Murray Smith and the late Nina Shelton Smith. Mr. Smith was a Navy veteran, who served in World War II and is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Dot) Hargrove Smith.

Survivors include son Eddie Smith and wife of Cindy of Inkster, Mich.; grandchildren, Tricia Col-well, Justin Smith; and great-grandchildren, Noah Smith, Nathan Smith and Roman Colwell.

Mrs. Alice Bell Poarch Newton, 88, of Pulaski died Aug. 10, 2013.

She was the daughter of the late Golie Jay and Lillie Be l l Ba l l P o a r c h a n d t h e wife of the late Wil-liam Morris Newton. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Josie Talley, Dorothy Poarch, Elaine Poarch; and brothers, J Po-arch, John Poarch, Charlie Poarch, Edward Poarch, Ned Poarch, and Howard Poarch.

Funeral services were to have been held today (Tuesday) at 11:00 a.m. at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home Burial was to have been in New Hope Cem-etery in Cornersville.

Mr. Thomas Aubrey Johnson, 79, died Aug. 16, 2013.

The Pulask i nat ive was born April 17, 1934, and retired as an electri-cian. He is preceded in death by his father Allie Aubrey Johnson.

Mr. Joe Lewis Mitchell Jr., 67, of Toney, Ala., died Aug. 13, 2013, at his home.

He was born Oct. 23, 1945, is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Mitch-ell Sr., and Martha Rhodes Mitchell; and nephew Peewee Ricketts and wife Rhonda.

She was b o r n i n South Giles C o u n t y , near Veto, Ala., Aug. 1 , 1921 , and was a buyer for the J.L. Hudson Company in Michigan. She is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence Eugene Adkins and Pattie Amelia Whitfi eld Adkins; husbands, Lawrence Alvin Faulkner and John William Shoemaker; and brother Alfred Eugene Adkins.

Funeral services were to have been held today (Tues-day) at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Janis Lofton offi ciating. Buri-al will be in Acacia Park Cem-etery in Royal Oak, Mich.
