DONALD XERXES MEADOR Mr. Donald Xerxes Meador, 82, of Huntsville, Ala., died Aug. 13, 2013. The Cloverport, Ky., na- tive was born May 8, 1931. He joined the Army in 1951 and was stationed in Okinawa for two years. Mr. Meador graduated from the University of Kentucky in May 1958 and spent most of his career work- ing as an engineer for SCI Systems. He was a mem- ber of Whitesburg Baptist Church since 1974 and is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held Aug. 18 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. Adkins Faulkner Shoe-maker, 92, died Aug. 16, 2013, at Life Care Center of Columbia.

She was b o r n i n South Giles C o u n t y , near Veto, Ala., Aug. 1 , 1921 , and was a buyer for the J.L. Hudson Company in Michigan. She is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence Eugene Adkins and Pattie Amelia Whitfi eld Adkins; husbands, Lawrence Alvin Faulkner and John William Shoemaker; and brother Alfred Eugene Adkins.

Funeral services were to have been held today (Tues-day) at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Janis Lofton offi ciating. Buri-al will be in Acacia Park Cem-etery in Royal Oak, Mich.

ELIZABETH ANNTHOMAS

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Thomas, 79, of Nashville died Aug. 13, 2013.

She is preceded in death by her husband James S. Thomas Jr; and an infant son.

Funeral services were held Aug. 17 at Crieve Hall Church of Christ with Bill Watkins officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial con-tributions may be made to Crieve Hall Church of Christ French Missions Fund.

Woodbine Funeral Home, Nashville, is in charge of ar-rangements.

Survivors include chil-dren, Jimmy Thomas and wife Kathy, Alfred Thomas and wife Karen, Alan Thom-as and wife Kim, Eleanor Thomas; seven grandchil-dren; one step-grandson; two great-grandchildren; sister Becky Allen and husband Vernon; brother Frank Collins and wife Jerre; sisters-in-law, Mary Anne Smith, Geraldine Collins, Robbie Collins; and a host of nieces and nephews.
