Sweethearts Of The Rodeo • Restless • www.sweetheartsoftherodeo.com
Janice Oliver and Kristine Arnold, better known as The Sweethearts Of The Rodeo, have again
captured their unique sound and breathtaking harmonies on a new CD, entitled, Restless. The
project is also highlighted by Janice‟s songwriting ability, co-writing seven of the twelve cuts.
From the uptempo, “Gone To Kentucky” to the more laid-back “Maybe Tonight,” one thing is
for sure, The Sweethearts Of The Rodeo” are alive and well! Welcome back!

The Roys • New Day Dawning • www.theroysonline.com
The brother-sister duo, The Roys are bringing family harmonies back to the forefront with their
unique blend of bluegrass and country. Lee and Elaine Roy also had a hand in the writing of
several songs on this project. From the uplifting toe-tappin‟ sound of “New Day Dawning” to
the sweet memories in the ballad, “Grandpa‟s Barn,” there is a remarkable vocal blend that re-
mains constant throughout and makes this project special.

Tobi Gordon • Follow The Star • www.tobigordon.com
Tobi Gordon‟s Follow The Star CD, is full of Holiday charm. It includes a lot of traditional
favorites like “Jingle Bell Rock,” “White Christmas” and “Winter Wonderland” as well as some
unfamiliar songs like “Santa‟s Kicking Up His Country Heels” and “Ring Those Joy Bells Of
Christmas.” Tobi‟s heartwarming vocals are a perfect addition to this Christmas season.
Bruck • Whiskey, Women & Rattlesnakes • www.jbbruck.com
JB Bruck‟s new CD, Whiskey, Women & Rattlesnakes is a showcase for his songwriting skills
having written all ten songs. His edgy, alternative country music style is perhaps more thought
provoking than commercial with songs like “If God Was” and “Ain‟t Gonna Be Easy.” Bruck
co-produced the project with noted singer, songwriter and musician, Lonnie Wilson. While a
little rough around the edges, there is some depth.
Smokey River Boys • #1 Greatest Country Hits • www.smokeyriverboys.com
The Smokey River Boys #1 Greatest Country Hits CD includes fourteen songs with an overall
easy listening country music style. The project includes the song, “Lady Liberty” written by lead
singer, Robert Metzgar for the Obama Liberty Project for handicapped school children. Other
notable songs on the project are “Let‟s Fall In Love Again” and “Under The Moonlight.”
Rock Star Meat Loaf Readies for Final Round
of “Mad, Mad World” North American Tour
Fall Performances Set as Music Icon
Marks 35th Anniversary Milestone
Iconic singer Meat Loaf is gearing up for the final stretch of his “Mad, Mad
World” North American concert tour. On October 24th, the legendary rocker will
celebrate the 35th anniversary of his breakout album, Bat Out of Hell, with a
show in Cleveland, Ohio in the State Theatre at PlayhouseSquare. The concert is
set to begin at 7:30 p.m. Bat out of Hell, defined the arena rock genre and re-
mains as one of the world‟s five top-selling albums of all-time with more than 43
million copies sold. Other stops for Meat Loaf‟s fall shows include New York,
Albany, Cedar Falls and more. He‟ll also take center stage in Ontario.
The tour was launched in connection to his latest CD, Hell in a Handbasket
(Sony/Legacy) which has generated international press coverage and reviews,
including an appearance on NBC‟s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. According
to Amazon.com, “music comes no bigger than Meat Loaf. And now, Meat Loaf
does it all again with the release of his album Hell in a Handbasket.” Blogcrit-
ics.org echoes the review, “at 64, Meat Loaf still has that huge, over-the-top
voice, and he uses it to very good effect on Hell in a Handbasket.”
Hell in a Handbasket is Meat Loaf‟s most autobiographical album which segues
from country and gospel to rock and rap. Featured collaborators include Chuck
D, Trace Adkins, Lil Jon and Sugar Ray‟s Mark McGrath.
While on tour, Meat Loaf will be joined by his acclaimed band, The Neverland
Express. Members include guitarist Paul Crook (who served as producer for Hell
in a Handbasket), John Miceli (drums, percussion), David Luther (saxophone, vocals), Patti Russo (lead and backing
vocals), Randy Flowers (guitars, vocals), Justin Avery (piano, organ, keyboard, vocals), and Danny Miranda
(electric and upright bass).

Today country music is a divided genre comprised of everything from contemporary and
traditional to alternative and Americana, not to mention it is often mixed with flavors of
bluegrass, gospel and folk. Singer/songwriters are as varied as the genre itself with different
vocal styles and songwriting methods. While traditional country music may not be heard as
much on mainstream country radio now as it once was, there are up and coming artists that
are embracing those deep roots of country music and are determined to keep that sound
alive. Jeff Maddox is a prime example of the “new” traditional sound that is hitting the air-
waves and catching the ears of listeners from nine to ninety-two.
A Mississippi native, Jeff began singing and songwriting in his 20‟s. Influ-
enced by the pen of musical wordsmiths like Jimmy Buffet and John Prine, he
soon developed a passion for songwriting and a style all his own. While his
influences at first appear to be more middle-of-the-road and folk, add in a little
influence from Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson and that
blend turns into a traditional sound that rivals some of country music‟s best
from George Jones to Merle Haggard.
After honing his skills, Jeff contacted a friend in Hendersonville, Tennessee to
record some demos. From there, Jeff‟s search for a record label would lead to
the doorstep of Echo-Vista Records, known mainly for their underground 12”
hip hop and R&B releases. Obviously an odd place for this traditionalist to
land, but the label was considering branching out into country music and Jeff
Maddox became their flagship artist in the country genre. Echo-Vista‟s Jef-
frey Collins spearheaded the release of the project and connected Jeff with
well-known Nashville musician and producer, Gary "Brotherman" Branchaud.
His career was now in full swing with the release of his first CD entitled,
That‟s What Love Does.
A year or so later, a second album, entitled You Call It Country followed on
Famous Records. While each sixteen song project highlighted Jeff‟s tradi-
tional vocals, they also showcased his songwriting prowess on those thirty-
two self-penned tunes. Not surprising that Jeff sees himself as a songwriter
most of all, commenting, “That‟s the horse I want to ride…and what I con-
sider myself first and foremost… I put a lot of value on being a songwriter.”
Although he has a burning desire to write and record, Jeff has learned over
time that it‟s not something he can control by simply turning it on and off –
he must trust and relax in the process which has helped him develop as a
songwriter; hence he notes, “My philosophy, I really don‟t go out and look
real hard for the songs…my job is to be patiently aware and ready and recog-
nize the idea – the little spark that comes along.” And those ideas usually
come out of the blue – it could be something someone says or as simple as a
key phrase that comes to mind when he‟s playing guitar.

A “NEW” TRADITIONAL SOUND!
PG 9 www.countryentertainmentusa.com
Two songs from the first album, That‟s What Love Does, were subsequently
released as singles, “Take It From Me” and “Like I Need You,” both of which
garnered Top 10 positions in the New Music Weekly country chart. He de-
scribes “Like I Need You” as “a sweet little love song” and “a very emotion-
ally written song” - not his typical writing method, but then rules are meant to
be broken and it worked.
When describing his music, he comments, “It‟s country that leans tradi-
tional.” Jeff plans to continue that traditional sound with a new album release
being slated for 2013 on Platinum Plus International Records which is distrib-
uted by The Orchard. Although still in the song selection process, he is very
excited about the possibilities. “I hope as people listen to my music whether
they like it or they don‟t like it that they say this guy‟s different. He‟s unique.
He‟s tried something new. I want to be true to myself,” Jeff comments.
Now with his focus squarely set on songwriting for the new project, it is home in Pearl, Mississippi with his wife,
Renee and two sons, Aden and Riley that keeps him grounded and full of ideas and enthusiasm.
Jeff Maddox continues to gain momentum in his musical quest and it‟s only a matter of time before this “new” tradi-
tionalist will be making mainstream waves.

Great VOCALS... Danny is a true Country Artist. The video is very well done but I
would have like to see the band during the lead ride...

Very cute video. Really enjoyed watching this one. The song is very commercial and
marketable... I would suggest that Barry work with a stylist to complete HIS look so
that he is just as marketable as the songs he performs...
