  • New Products & Product Benefits

This global catalogue introduces a certain number of new products to the Power-One Aurora range. So far we have installed products totaling more than 4 GW of power globally. We have redesigned the smallest of our residential inverters, the new UNO 2 kW single phase inverter. A new look inverter from both a style and technology standpoint, it is high performing, extremely robust, easily installed and features a new user interface. Other important news includes two new string inverter products for large roof top applications, TRIO-27.6 and TRIO-20.0, three-phase inverters outputting 27.6 kW and 20.0 kW respectively. These products fi ll a gap between our previous 10.0 kW and 12.5 kW three-phase products and our smallest Central inverter products (50kW and 55kW). This new design of inverter benefi ts from three-phase inverter technology perfected in the PVI-10.0 and 12.5, probably the worlds most commonly used three-phase inverter which has led the way in best-in-class effi ciency. Power-One is also launching the new ULTRA, our biggest inverter with an output of up to 1.4MW featuring passive liquid cooling. This new concept in large scale utility inverter features an IP65 enclosure, high performances, minimum footprint, low maintenance and Power-Ones traditional modular approach. All this plus a low operational cost benefi t for our customers.

  • Key Features of the Aurora product range Power-Ones Aurora products compare favorably with the competition for the high innovation content and key features which are the stronghold of our offering. The wide working input voltage range can accommodate any panel string size, allowing installers to buy their inverter with confidence knowing the Aurora inverter will suit whatever installation they have on their books. The wide input range also allows a low power of activation to extend the daily working time of the inverter. The Aurora inverters also feature a rugged IP65 construction to fit any type of installation without putting restrictions on where and how the inverter should be installed. Maximum power-point trackers (MPPT) allow you to accommodate sub arrays with different orientations or made up of different PV panels. This technology also allows the installation designer to know that any incidents of partial shading will be overcome by the MPPT technology creating the optimum power curve for energy harvesting. Modular central inverters, used for large commercial and utility scale applications, allow a reduction in downtime caused either by the failure at the inverter level or the photovoltaic field. This eliminates plant shutdown, the reduction of repair time and consequently financial benefits in terms of production. At Power-One, we aim high so you can too.

The new Aurora 300 Watt micro-inverter product off ers something new to Power-One customers. The ability to individually link all modules within a specific installation is an alternative to the traditional Aurora string inverters Power-One is famous for.

Micro-inverters have some advantages over string inverters. They allow you to control the panels output individually and off er Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) for each single module.

They also allow you to control individual panels in diff erent ways and reduce the losses in efficiency in a variety of challenging conditions.

Power-Ones new Optimizer products use DC-to-DC technology to help maximize the energy harvested from solar installations.

Normally, within each array, the solar panels are usually joined together in a serial pattern. This creates issues if one panel fails as this reduces the energy being produced by the entire installation. The Optimizer maximizes the energy from each module within a string as they optimize the voltage/current for any given weather conditions.

The Optimizer also maximizes energy harvesting in panels suff ering from partial or temporary shading. This helps installers to create the largest installations possible andincrease Return on Investment (ROI).

The most common residential inverter is the ideal size for an average-sized family home. This family of single-phase string inverter complements the typical number of rooftop solar panels, allowing home-owners to get the most efficient energy harvesting for the size of the property. This rugged outdoor inverter has been designed as a completely sealed unit to withstand the harshest environmental conditions.

One of the key benefits of the Uno family of single-phase inverters is the dual input section to process two strings with independent MPPT especially useful for rooftop installations with two diff erent orientations (ie East and West). The high speed MPPT off ers real-time power tracking and improved energy harvesting.

The transformerless operation gives the highest efficiency of up to 97.0%. The wide input voltage range makes the inverter suitable to low power installations with reduced string size.
