We will be presenting their award soon.

FY 2017 Work Program UpdateAdditional Activities:

Develop Partnerships with Regional Associations for exploration of training opportunities: Partner with regional chapter of the Texas Public Works Association (TPWA), the American Public Works Association (APWA), the Texas Floodplain Management Association (TFMA), UT Arlington’s Public Works Training Institute, the Texas Asphalt Pavement Association, and/or local private sector entities to develop specific trainings for public works members.

Training for Contractors or Inspectors: Develop or bring in training to address equipment operating, safety, and other issues for contractors, inspectors, and public works members.

•Dallas Area Forecast Meeting and Fish Fry: Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at T-K-O Equipment Co. which is located at 2850 Hardrock Road in Grand Prairie. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a brief reception and the fish fry will follow at 6:00 p.m.

FY 2018 Work Program Discussion• Potential additional program activities for FY 2018:

A. C.SPROW Field Visits: Host SPROW-related field visits to requested sites for education and case study purposes.

D. Continuation of Cooperative Purchase of Public Works materials: Continuation of cooperative purchase programs to include desired Public Works resources. For example, this year, we are working on a cooperative purchase program for pavement management prioritization systems.

E. Public Outreach: Explore the creation of creative contests for Public works infrastructure accomplishment information or outreach in the region. This could include partnerships with professional organizations and/or universities. Could also include Public Works Shadow Day or other community outreach events.

• Flood Risk Review meetings have been held with Irving, Corinth, and Shady Shores to close out their FY 15 Projects.

•Discovery webinars were held April 19th and 24th. Discovery meetings will be held in June for Cedar and Denton Watersheds.

• Denton: June 13th in Flower Mound; June 21st in Decatur

• Cedar: June 15th in Terrell; June 20th in Gun Barrel City

• Currently waiting on feedback for an extension request for the FY 15 Denton and Cedar Discovery projects.

Other Program ActivitiesCooperating Technical Partnership (CTP):

• An RFP is going out soon for a consultant for FY 16 projects: East Fork Discovery, Flood Risk Project on West Buffalo Trib 1 and McAnear Creeks in the City of Cleburne, and Flood Risk Project on Silver Creek in Tarrant County.

• Final FY 17 Business Plan submitted March 30th. Waiting on feedback from FEMA for project funding. Currently reaching out to prospective communities for Flood Risk Projects in Benbrook, Weatherford, and the Marys Creek Watershed, and are currently hoping to perform Discovery on the Richland-Chambers watershed.

Next Floodplain Administrator’s/CRS Users Group Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 23, from 12 pm to 2 pm in the 911 Training Center here at NCTCOG. The topic will be “Enforcing Historical Violations,” and will feature a panel of speakers.

Pavement Analysis Services

Master contracts have been executed between NCTCOG and four vendors!

Participating entities can choose from a menu of options including digital image collection, ADA ramp location and configuration, Pavement Condition Index (PCI) scores, budget estimates, and training.

Entities wishing to participate need to sign an Interlocal Agreement with NCTCOG’s SHARE Program before using this service.
