Thank you for viewing my portfolio!
This is simply a brief introduction and synopsis of my work. A more
extensive body of samples showing an array of my work is available
upon request.
The first three pages of this presentation consist of a condensed
version of my professional experience, background and education as
well an overview of the types of work/services I can provide. I have
worked with both individual and corporate clients in both a writing
and public relations capacity. The overview is not all inclusive, as I
can do custom project work (subject to deadline and availability) and
mix and match services.

Danielle Reed
Danielle Reed is the assistant to the editor for American Family Physician (AFP), a peer-
reviewed academic medical journal with a circulation of nearly 200,000. Reed leads the
Washington, DC branch of the journal’s editorial office which is responsible for all editing
and processing of approximately 150 clinical review articles per year. She is the point of
contact for all AFP authors, serving as the facilitator between them and medical editing
staff which includes physicians based across the country and AFP’s main office in
Overland Park, KS.
Prior to AFP, Reed was a content writer for Kudzu.com a service directory site run by
Cox Media based in Atlanta, GA. In that position she wrote custom content for the site
including how-to guides, user information, reviews and content for listed companies as
well as additional custom media content for related publications in Kudzu’s four major
markets (Atlanta, San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix).
In addition, Reed does freelance work as both a public relations and editorial consultant.
In the freelance arena she has had articles published in various regional publications . She
has had an opportunity to work with various individual and corporate clients on
everything from book editing to building resume and portfolio packages , video EPKs and
promos and complex communications planning.
She has been a champion of social media tools and technologies, with a track record of
creating and implementing successful social media and strategic communications
programs. She’s used her media, new media, journalism and editorial background to
work with constantly evolving technologies in online social networking, SEO, and
communications tools to create innovative, effective results for her clients.
As a sideline, she is also a spoken word artist. She has had the honor of touring and
performing across the country with artists from BET Lyric Café and HBO Def Poetry
Jam. She is also an author, having published her first book Emily, Jacob and Boniqua,
What NOT to Name Your Child, in late spring 2010.

Williams Lea/McKee Nelson, Washington, DC— White collar, corporate and securities
litigation firm Proofreader Worked with a team of word processors as a proofreader for major
corporate tax litigation, securities and white-collar litigation firm.
Cox Search/ Cox Enterprises (CEI), Atlanta, GA— Major market cable and communications
provider Content Writer/Coordinator, Site Operations Served as content writer for
Kudzu.com, a locally focused website designed for consumers to locate service professionals.
Designed and wrote consumer and merchant content pages and packages including consumer
how-to guides. Ad support, management of ad keyword tracking and SEO.
O’Connell Meier, Alexandria, VA— Boutique advertising and creative marketing firm
Copywriter Served as copywriter for a small boutique advertising agency specializing in both
national and international associations and organizations. Clients included American Society
for Training and Development and the American Institute for Chemical Engineers. Edited and
wrote for direct media and campaign events, including print advertising, marketing materials,
and web content.
FDCH/emediamillworks, Lanham, MD— Producer of verbatim transcription of network and
broadcast programming and corporate earnings statements Editor Copyedited and formatted
verbatim, real-time transcripts for various corporations including Fortune 100 companies such
as Coca-Cola, General Motors, AT&T and Wachovia.
Las Vegas Life/Henderson Home News, Las Vegas, NV— Subsidiary publications of
Greenspun Media Group, one of the nation’s largest niche and regional media companies
Editorial Assistant/Reporter Served as Editorial Assistant for Las Vegas Life Magazine-a
monthly city lifestyle and entertainment magazine. Maintained close contact with public
relations departments of major Las Vegas hotel/casino and concert venues. Also, served as
reporter for twice-weekly newspaper, Henderson Home News (reprints in Boulder City News).
