• Estimates of the Brazilian population residing in Portugal range from 75,000 to 150,000 adults.

• An estimated 74 percent of Brazilian adults living in Portugal send remittances on a regular basis to their families back home.

• Brazilians living in Portugal send remittances 10 times a year at an average of €320 with each remittance.

• Therefore, the total amount of remittances sent from Portugal to Brazil during 2005 is estimated to be between €178,000,000 and €356,000,000.
