Division Director/Assistant County Engineer Public Notice Distributed: May 16, 2011 Division of Engineering Page 1 of 2 Public Notice: Bridge F04 Municipality: Township of Fredon (Detour into Township of Stillwater) Facility: Bridge F04 Carrying Puder Road over a Branch of Paulins Kill Advisory: During routine monitoring and inspection of Bridge F04 by the Sussex County Division of Engineering, conditions were observed indicative of an imminent failure of the downstream roadway embankment threatening the safe flow of traffic along Puder Road. In the interest of public safety the bridge was closed and will remain closed until such time as funding becomes available to design and construct remedial measures capable of restoring safety to the facility. Actions Taken: Closure of Bridge F04 and posting of detour. Investigation of remedial measures capable of stabilizing the slope and restoring operational safety to the facility sufficient to return the facility to limited service.
