March 2013

Activity Summary:

There were nineteen (19) burglaries reported in March 2013. There were fourteen(14) burglaries reported

during the same time frame in 2012. This is a 36% increase from 2012 to 2013.

Twelve (12), or63%, of theincidents involved residentiallocations.

Fourteen (14) incidents, or74%, involved forced entry.

Six (6) incidents,or32%, were discovered on a Sunday.

Six (6) incidents, or32%, were discovered between the hours of0800 1159. Fifteen (15) incidents are openfor further investigation, two (2) incidentshave been closed cleared by

arrest and two (2) have been closed due to the victim choosing not to prosecute.

Historically, HPD has an average of 18 burglaries during the month of March with a current threshold of 13 to 23.

This March, we were within thethreshold with 19 reported burglaries.

Forecast for April:

The average number of burglaries for the month of April is 20 plus or minus 9. By the end of April, there is a 68%chance HPD will have received between 11 and 29 reported burglaries.
