Norfolk Confederate Soldier Monument, William Couper (1907).15 Commercial PlaceThis 15-foot statue stands tall to rememebr the last reunion of surviv-ing Confederate soliders and was created by Norfolk artist William Couper.

Leading Edge, John Safer (1989).1 Commercial PlaceMounted in a reflecting pool, Leading Edge is a polished stainless steel sculpture that stands 25-feet tall. This sculpture was created by Washington, D.C. artist John Safer. Whaling Wall #47, Wyland Foundation (1993).777 Waterside Drive Part of a project to increase awareness for marine life conservation, the Wyland Foundation installed this mural as number 47 out of 100 projects.

Tower of Light, William Wainwright (1976).999 Waterside DriveThis piece is made up of triangular shapes of stainless steel designed to reflect the light of day and move with the breeze of the Elizabeth River.

Norfolk 1682 & the American Revolutionary War Cannons, Nor-folk Rotary Club1 Waterside DriveDonated by the Norfolk Rotary Club, the bronze plaque in inscribed with a 1682 map of Norfolk. Next to the plaque stand four Revolution-ary War cannons that were recoved from the Elizabeth River.

Armed Forces Memorial, James Cutler and Maggie Smith (1998).1 Waterside Drive This memorial stands tall, surrounded by bronze letters written to loved ones. These letters are real notes written by members of the Armed Forces who never returned home. The memorial by James Cutler and Maggie Smith is dedicated to veterans from every major U.S. Conflict.

Waterwork, Stephen Farley (2009).1 Waterside DriveThe piece consists of 24 photographic-glazed ceramic tile murals mounted within steel frames. These images were found in the archive collection of historical photographs from the Norfolk Public Library. Created by artist Stephen Farley, this piece was installed in 2009 in the renovated Town Point Park.

Homecoming, Stanley Bleifeld (1986).1 Waterside DriveCreated by artist Stanley Bleifeld, this sculpture depicts a U.S. Navy sailor greeting his family for the first time since being away at sea. In 2000, this piece was dedicated to the city the very same week that the sailors of the USS Cole returned to the shores of Norfolk.

USS Antiem Anchor1 Waterside DriveThis naval artifact was donated by the Naval Historical Center and welcomes guests into Town Point Park.

Ligne Ideterminee, Bernar Venet (1987).101 West Main StreetCreated by world renowned French artist Bernar Venet, this sculpture consists of nine pieces of steel that are welded into an intricate circu-lar shape. This piece was dedicated to the city in 1987 and sits in the heart of Norfolk’s financial district.

Ripples, Athena Tacha (1979).200 Granby StreetInspired by rhythm and movement, this large concrete plaza sits on a corner the corner of Granby Street. Take a seat and relax on Ripples as you take in the busy downtown street views.

Summer in the City, Vicki Norris (2011).401 Granby StreetImages depicting a summer scene at Downtown Norfolk’s Town Point Park greet visitors to the Municipal Center alongside the painted USS Wisconsin

Gold Medal Flour, Unknown324 Granby StreetThis classic mid-century mural is painted directly onto a brick build-ing. The painting is referred to as a ghost mural due to its gradual fading and weather worn features.

Eyes, John Rudel (2011).318 Monticello AveThis collaboration piece created by Rudel and students from Norfolk’s Emerging Leaders program was crafted aluminum pieces that resem-ble computer pixels. This piece aims to remind viewers that deep, emotional connections can be made even through technological ex-periences. This art piece can be seen from the exterior of the North Parking Garage.

Hampton Roads, Gregg LeFevre (1999).206 Monticello AveThis is one of two bronze maps created by artist Gregg LeFevre. This piece is located at the southwest enterance of MacArthur Center and it depicts key locations including the Governor’s Palace and the Ches-apeake Bay. The sister map is located at the north exit of the mall and it depicts Downtown Norfollk in 1824.

MetalMatisse, Electroland (2013).319 East City HallThis is an interactive, stainless steel, light and sound sculpture that sits in the heart of MacArthur Square. Each “flower” activates a response from the sculpture when visitors stand in specific spots detected by motion sensors. Loosely based off of French artist Henri Matisse, the vase and flower structure comes to life through light and orchestrated sound.

General Douglas MacArthur, Stanley BleifeldMacArthur Inchon Plaque, Kyong Sung Kim (1957).198 Bank StreetThis stoic bronze sculpture stands tall outside of the MacArthur Me-morial Museum. Created by Stanley Bleifeld, the monument is one of only two sculptures of the 5-star general.Along the side of the Memorial building is a large cast bronze in-stallment that depicts General MacArthur wading ashore in Inchon, Korea. This piece was donated by the Republic of Korea Department of Defense.

Book Migration, Anne Bousquet 300 Plume StreetThis six panel mural is an analogy of migration and movemnets of the city’s books over the years to various locations of Norfolk’s libraries. This mural leads the way to the newly renovated Slover Library.

Ornament at Slover, Kent Bloomer (2015).235 East Plume StreetThe last stop on this tour is at the newly renovated Slover Library. Cre-ated by New Haven artist Kent Bloomer, this installation is an integral part of the library’s architecture. The aluminum foliations are visible in
