Out-o-level testing, such as the SAT or ACT

when given to younger students, oers the best

gauge o how appropriate the course work may

    be or an individual.

In our experience, gited students rise to

the challenge o taking these tests, so long

as undue pressure is not placed upon them.

Students may take the SAT or ACT assessments

at any time and at any grade level. They can

also retake the tests and submit new results.

We accept scores that were achieved through

    the Duke Talent Identication Program,

tip.duke.edu, but you are not required to go

through TIP to apply to Vanderbilt Summer

Academy. Please note that any scores

submitted to us are or our placement purposes

only, and do not go to VU admissions.
