    Langkah 1

    Baca soalan dengan teliti. Gariskan kata tugas yang digunakan dalam

    tajuk pokok soalan seperti: Analisiskan, bangunkan, buktikan, cadangkan,

    ciptakan, cerakinkan, deduksikan, hubungkaitkan, illustrasikan,kemukakan, nilaikan, tafsirkan, syorkan, wajarkah, dan sebagainya.

    Berikut adalah beberapa contoh teknik penyoalan item dalam soalan PT3

    Sains 2014:

    1) Adakah ini berlaku sekiranya....?

    2) Andaikan anda seorang ahli sains, syorkan dua strategi yang boleh

    diambil.....

    3) Nyatakan dua faktor yang relevan dengan...

    4) Terangkan idea utama yang ingin dikaji dalam eksperimen ini...

    5) Bagaimanakah lagi anda boleh lakukan untuk

    memperbaik... Kebanyakan item PT3 Sains 2014 akan mempunyai

    rangsangan/stimulus, iaitu maklumat khusus dalam bentuk petikan

    pendek, rajah, jadual, graf, dan lain-lain.

    Langkah 2

    Memahami betul-betul kehendak kata tugas tersebut. Setiap soalan

    disusuli markah (poin). Soalan yang diberi markah 1 memerlukan satu

    respon yang wajar, manakala soalan yang bermarkah 2 pula memerlukandua atau tiga respon yang wajar. Semasa berikan jawapan (respon),

    pastikan anda berikan respon dalam bentuk fakta sains yang telah anda

    pelajari, disusuli dengan huraian yang sepadan. Fungsi huraian adalah

    sebagai pernyataan sokongan (support statement) bagi fakta yang anda

    kemukakan itu. Contoh item Pada pendapat anda, bagaimanakah

    peningkatan suhu dan mengurangan nilai pH air laut dapat mempengaruhi

    jumlah populasi batu karang di dalam lautan? [4 markah] Contoh

    responApabila suhu air laut meningkat, keterlarutan oksigen dalam air

    akan menjadi kurang. Maka, kuantiti oksigen terlarut dalam air juga

    berkurang dan menjejaskan pertumbuhan batu karang. Apabila nilai pH air

    laut berkurang, iaitu air laut menjadi lebih berasid, batu karang akan mati.

    Hal ini kerana batu karang ialah sebatian kalsium yang boleh bertindak

    balas dengan asid dan dikakisnya.
