Psychonaut User’s Manual A Guide to BigWave Quantum Surfing “What? This is really working! It isn’t therapy at all! ” is probably the most common reaction I hear when launching clients on their accelerated path. And why is the psychonauting process so effective? Simple. We work with the one thing that actually matters – accessing the powerful, limitless Source Energy that creates universes. Much like the discovery of the weird microscopic world revolutionized society, today’s discovery of quantum realms is opening up vast new frontiers for its bold pioneers. For us – the psychonautics – quantum physics isn’t simply a theoretical idea, but the greatest adventure of our lives. By applying and accessing the physics of energy, we build positive momentum to catch bigger and bigger waves of highvibe love, creative and professional success, illuminated wellbeing, and a fairytalelike connection with the living universe. As the planetary waves grow, more and more possibilities and opportunities arise. I’ve seen my bigwave friends and clients transform into dubstep rock stars, coolass TV hosts, groundbreaking authors and globetrotting speakers and shamanauts. This wavesurfing process has upgraded my life from panic attacks and temp jobs to riding a joyfully badass career trajectory – Reality Sandwich, The Evolver Network, “The Electric Jesus,” Talat Healing, Psychonaut Productions – meeting my true love, and opening a Divine connection that I only used to read about in ancient Gnostic texts. This Accelerated Program is a psychonautic map and “Laymen’s Course in Miracles” for the quantum adventurer. It consolidates 10years of wisdom from my Bioenergetic practice and the big wave movement into simple, easy steps of quick acceleration. Each day has a lesson, theory, exercise, healing modality, or shamanaut upgrade to have you Go All the Way in 90days. I suggest carrying the studies beyond their single lesson, implementing their guidance throughout your journey. We’ll be conducting many highvibe, home alchemy experiments – things you probably never tried, some you may have never dared. This isn’t greyenergy talk therapy. We’re psychonauts, explorers of consciousness, and we do what works, even if it means a fun risk.

Page 7: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Beginners tend to like the techniques for Bioenergetics, hands on work, color/sound healing, so we’ll have lots of those. Intermediates often face their big shadow – “The Empire Strikes Back” underbelly phase – and appreciate the attitude adjustments, guideconnections, and advanced energetics to flow them through the eye of the needle. The big wavers find depths of wisdom in the simplest of kernels and quickly elevate to even sweeter rides. I recommend taking each lesson as if you’re already a big waver. Let your Highest Self steer the next 90 days to manifest who you already really are. Program 1 & 2 will start with Life Mastery and Bioenergetic fundamentals and then move through the power centers (chakras) and their corresponding elements, energetics, and life lessons, focusing three weeks on each center. Our first 90 days covers (1) Earth, (2) Fire (3) Water, and part of (4) Air, illuminating family roots, kundalini serpents, sex centers, solarplexus career confidence and ending in the Jediawakening of the heart chakra. Program 2 – the following 90 days – investigates the (4) Heart, (5) Throat, (6) Third Eye (7) Crown, firing up the gateways to Electric Spirit, shadow illumination, guides, muses, mediumship, clairvoyance, and connection with Grace. I’ve also invited my closest bigwave friends to share their secrets for navigating the Great Mysteries of life, including the Handbook’s luscious cowriter, my partnerinLove Crimes, RocknRoll Career Renaissance pioneer Claudia Wheeler Rappe. You’ll meet Claudia and crew in the daily exercises [credited on each page], our “Going All The Way!” FB group, and on our Biweekly Team Psychonaut webinars and online skillshares. I’m already asking the crew to help me cowrite Program 3: Advanced Star Power and I invite you to send in your discoveries to share with the community. Every psychonaut chooses to use this Guidebook for their best advantage in their journey and study. Those on the Talat Healing Practitioner path, or ones who’d like to become Psychonaut Facilitators, are to complete every lesson and homework item. We will learn Bioenergetic process work in our Psychonaut sessions and train your Jedi skills then. Length of the certification path depends on your elected package and program, worked out with me. Our intention is to offer everything I’ve got so you can get healed, Psychonaut trained, and Talat Healer certified in one program, at one price. And you get to Go All the Way, Your Way! Happy Psychonauting! – Talat

Dear Universe... The KickOff To Your Greatest Adventure Have you ever had something show up in your life – seemingly by miracle – that required almost no effort on your part? Something that as it came into your experience, you knew that it was a perfect match for something you had been asking for – your dream partner, your dream career, or your dream house? Something that you couldn’t have controlled by action or orchestration or the manipulating of circumstances, but you know that it showed up just because it was just right for you. You might have asked yourself, how the heck did that happen? I didn’t even do anything to make that happen. It just happened. Some people might call these things miracles, or happenstance, or good luck, but I like to think otherwise. When I made the subtle (but profound) shift from trying really hard to make things happen, to allowing things to evolve more naturally, I started learning about the magic of the Universe, and my potential to create exactly what I wanted in my life, without the struggle. I invite you to kick off this 90day process of “Going All the Way”, by writing a letter to the Universe, describing all of the delicious details of what you want to show up in your life over the next three months. It could be the completion of a creative project. It could be landing a job you’ve had your eye on. It could be just feeling lighter, freer, and easier. Anything you want – the goal of this exercise is not to work really hard to make everything in your letter become a reality. The goal is to suspend your disbelief long enough that you begin to trust that you actually can live more of the life you have been dreaming of. It’s time to write your greatest love story – the story of Your Life. With Love and Mischief,

– Claudia

MONTH 1: SUGGESTED READING

The Electric Jesus: The Healing Journey of a Contemporary Gnostic by Jonathan Talat Phillips [Required for Talat Healing Track]

When Talat experiences a devastating loss as a countercultural media activist, he unwittingly embarks on a mystical journey marked by underground ayahuasca ceremonies, kundalini awakenings, prankster spirit guides, and miraculous energy healings that reshape his skeptical worldview. Along the way, he chronicles the rise of an international movement that is trailblazing visionary ways to address our current planetary crisis through raised consciousness.

Learn the “electric” alchemical secrets of mystical traditions across the globe, and enjoy the world’s first popmemoir bestseller in Gnosticism. You can grab inexpensive ones online (Amazon, Powell’s), get a signed copy from Talat, or receive a free PDF of the book (not Kindle friendly) – just email psychonaut[email protected] What Alex Grey Says: “A modern Odyssey of awakening, Jonathan Talat Phillips’ journey into Gnosticism deeply resonates with the eccentric moment. The Electric Jesus, a spiritual autobiography, reveals a life lived in the light of transformation, searching for the mystic core of a planetary civilization.” Other Required Reading for Talat Healing Track: “The Subtle Body: An Encyclopedia of Your Energetic Anatomy” by Cyndi Dale – Pages 175. This will be your textbook for our energy medicine training. I find it a smoother, gentler, wiser ride than some of the overly detailed bioenergetic textbooks.

Day 1 PSYCHONAUT GUIDELINE 1 Lighten Up: Nothing Serious Is Going On When I think of “Going All the Way!”, I remember my favorite journey with the Amazonian shaman’s brew, ayahuasca. I was in my early thirties and just starting to see and understand energy. I was wondering where I was going, and what this was all about. In the vision, a white lotus flower rose up below me, carrying me up into this immense star energy that somehow was already glowing inside my heart. These lights felt like home sweet home. My body, mind, and spirit radiated inside and out with this very real celestiallight, and suddenly I could see all my shadow attachments unwind and lift into the gorgeous freeing energy. The old blocks became precious jewels of sparkly, glowy wisdom and transformation, as I merged with a universal stream of loving awesomeness. That’s when a guiding voice chimed in: “This is what you’ve been looking for – the Krishna, Buddha, Jesus energy. Enlightenment exists. Humans are already enlightened. It’s just time to wake up and remember who you really are.” That was a first glimpse of my awakening, and it kept me going through several years of shadow work until I finally was initiated into the Universal Church of Trickster, empowering me to embrace the hilariously wild paradoxes and triumphantly challenging memories, finally “lightening up” into ease, joy, and juicy highvibe energy that now flows throughout my travels. And that’s my vision of us Going All the Way – experiencing the Buddha, Jesus, Shaktilike energy in all aspects of our lives, all around the world, in whatever form excites you. May we rise above limitations that restrict, the gravity that can hold us, and soar beyond any obstacles that await. May you laugh and love through every situation with the aid of Psychonaut Guideline 1: Lighten Up: Nothing Serious Is Going On. TODAY’S MISSION: Spend today not taking anything seriously, as best you can in love of the Great Masterpiece of Life. This perspective of humor builds our capacity to open our hearts and handle any circumstance, so we can stay buoyant, happy, lucid, and free to realize our most enlightened dreams.

Page 12: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 2 LIFT OFF: TRAINING BEGINS Guideline 2: You Are Your Own Psychonaut So, let’s have “the Talk,” the one I have with anyone wanting to go on a psychonautic expedition with me. First, I’d like to share that psychonauting is my passion, my sport, my art, my wildwest quantum adventure, and greatest Love, so it’s a precious treasure to me, just like my time. I hope you’ll cherish your own psychonautic study as much as I do mine. It doesn’t matter what level you’re at big waver seeking more adventure, intermediate knowing they can fly, or newby throttling in whitewater, ready to join the fun. The only thing I ask is that you go on a journey of aligning and realigning with the graceful grooviness of your own Love. Make a commit to surrender to the PositiveFlow of Love, to the best of our best abilities, which means putting our hearts into it, saying Yes to the light, Yes to positivity, Yes to going for it in our lives. At least for 90 days, and see what happens! Guideline 2: You Are You’re Own Psychonaut means you are responsible for your Love story, your journey, your psychonautic study. You are the healer, rock star, divine rebel you’ve been looking for. Abandon codependence, quickfixes, or finding the one doctor, healer, dealio to save you. The journey is ongoing, unfolding, and although you may find joyous flight buddies, only you have the internal Heart Compass Magic to Go All the Way, Your Way! I recommend you grab a sexy Psychonaut Diary for “Handbook: exercises and activities, chronicling your pioneering adventures. As you map out your program, remember psychonaut guideline #2 and feel into your inner compass. Give time today for lateral thought, intuitive reception, and archetypal guidance to flow in. What is your love dream for the first, second month, and finishing lap? If you already know fabulous. If not, maybe go on an extended sunset hike, take an essentialoiled bath, or do some fun witchy rituals today and see if something surfaces. If we slow down and slip into the Heart Dimensions, often we catch the Big Fish already within us. And for those on the search, there’s no rush, we have three flight months of fun to go! I recommend finding a wildly inspiring theme song to play for momentumbuilding. Currently, I pump myself up with Happy Mondays’ “Step On” frequencies before sessions, gigs, or writing that diplomatic email I was postponing.

Day 3 THE LAW OF ATTRACTION The World’s Biggest NonSecret – Claudia I’m sure you’ve heard of the Law of Attraction, aka “The Secret.” It goes like this: You get what you think about, whether you want it or not. Calling it a secret is like calling gravity a secret – there just isn’t anything that happens to us in our lives that doesn’t come in through our own invitation, whether we are aware of it or not. Now if the Law of Attraction is so simple, then why do so many people (a) not believe in it or (b) struggle with it? I think the number one reason why many people don’t believe in the Law of Attraction is because we don’t always want to take credit for what shows up in our lives. If something icky happens, we’d rather place the blame on somebody else, or the circumstances, instead of accepting responsibility for what we created. Even if we believe in the Law of Attraction, we might struggle with the conscious application of it, simply because we have been fed a lot of garbage about who we are and how the Universe works. Many of us have been taught that we are not powerful, and that we have to work hard and struggle our way into success. It can take a long time to unravel these beliefs that we have practiced over a lifetime before we can start attracting some different results. The good news is the Law of Attraction so freakishly consistent, that we are getting constant feedback about the thought patterns we are emitting by whatever shows up in our experience. Also, we are getting premanifestional feedback about what we are creating, in the form of emotion. If we are feeling downright crappy, then crap is certainly going to rain down hard! If we are feeling fabulous, then we can expect some real magic to happen. There’s an easy way around this process of using the Law of Attraction to our advantage: Instead of trying to control your thoughts, focus on the way you want to feel. If you get yourself in a happy mood before you do anything, you create an emotional atmosphere that attracts more goodfeeling circumstances and events into your experience. It’s a psychonautic shortcut that requires a simple willingness to Feel Good, which is the reason we want pleasurable experiences, anyway. Monkey around with it today. Become an Attraction apprentice and let the magic unfold.

Page 14: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 4 FEELING ENERGY: THIS SHIFT IS REAL! Before we head off into the quantum wilds, let’s take a day to familiarize ourselves with evolutionary fire. The universe is singing, undulating, harmonizing, flowing, and vibrating in endless, eternal energy. When people ask if they might be energy healers, I say, “Xo you breathe, shit? Are you human? Then, you are a conductor, receiver, and transmitter of energy. And guaranteed, you’re really good at it!” Now let’s play some energy games, and I mean games, not exercises or efforts. To feel energy (we’ll focus on seeing and hearing later), we let down the skeptical, overlycritical mind (while keeping reason) to rediscover our natural childlike groove. Start rubbing your palms together superquick, as if you’re starting a fire. Go for 30 secs to a min, until you feel some steam, and then gently bring your hands a halfinch apart. Do you feel that magnetic force, a push or pull, a warmth or presence? Softly move your hands further apart, and further. Do you feel layers, differences in connection? How far can your hands move apart and still feel the magnetism? Now, spread your hands out far and feel your entire energy field. What energy do you notice around your face, scalp, chest? Are their places of power, constriction, flow, colors, sounds, feelings that you experience? What’s your backside like compared to the front? Most likely your hands are flowing in graceful Thaichi master watermotions. Can you hold your hands a few inches apart and create an energy ball? Place that bright ball in your heart? Move it around your chest, down your hips, legs, warming the feet. Let go of the mental mechanisms and sink into the moment. Intuition guides the way. Use your imagination. Feel your spine lighting up in Christmas light splendor, your organs basking in soothing white fluff, your nervous system activating with solar power. In quantum realms, basic moves advance quickly when we apply intention, invention, and childlike imagination. Today, I’d like you to play with energy and see what treasures you discover by paying attention to something so powerful… something always at our service.

Page 15: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 5 THE HOLY TRINITY Body, Mind, & Spirit in 90 Days I’m going to ask you a question, and I’m willing to bet 100 psychonaut bucks that I know the answer. Out of a scale from 1100, how much do you utilize the following? Go ahead, take your time, feel into it. Recall your emotions, thoughts, and actions of the last few days, hours, probably even minutes. It’ll give you the answer. YOUR BODY? YOUR MIND? YOUR SPIRIT? So, let me guess, Spirit and Body are revving at 50, 60, 70 Rpms and that mind is throttling in overdrive – perhaps it goes to 111 – jacking the alignment and overrunning the show. In the BodyMindSpirit Holy Trinity, to regain true Wholeness, we simply empower and enliven the body and spirit while chillaxing the mind. TODAY’S MISSION: Given the results above, write down what you would like to add to your Psychonaut Training in order to create a balance trifecta in your life? BODY: What dietary, workout, yoga, chigong, outdoor sports would excite you over the next 30, 60, 90 days? Are there modalities to check out – Alexander Technique, Polarity Therapy, shamanaut training? It’s not about dodo, but holding a highvibe frequency and allowing the body to return to its natural Wellbeing. To start, I recommend kundalini, core work, and cardio to alchemize energies and heat up your mornings, then maybe some yin or restorative yoga in the evenings. Hot tubs, sunbaths, spatime, naps in fluffy places are also great for pleasure payoffs. MIND: In this program we’ll experiment with various “Awareness Games” to Thetawave the mind. For now, a meditation practice of your choice will suffice. I like to TM for 20 mins in the morning and to nap my meditation in the afternoon, rebooting my energy. SPIRIT: This emotional, electrifying, freefloating essence is the subject of tomorrow’s lesson. See you then!

Page 16: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 6 “CHOOSING YOUR LINE” Spirit Leads the Way When first uncovering a client’s spiritpower, I do one supersimple exercise. I remind them of how awesome they were as a kid. Yes, mom or dad may have challenged us, circumstances and the rest, but everyone has stories of their spirits flying free and high. You remember that moment – maybe it was climbing to the top of that impossibly high tree, or when you and your buddies jumped BMXes off the dock, or all those witchy things you did in the woods when your parents weren’t looking. These moments immersed us into the eternal presence, offering the exhilaration of being Alive, a familiar connection with our spirit and the universe around us. Good “Fun Trouble!” For me, this was skiing – swooshing down white hills, soaring off cornices, breathing that sharp, invigorating Colorado air, and soaking in the crisp sun. Feeling those silvery, fluffy, fun elemental energies, I intuitively flowed through mazes of snowy slopes that dished out immense pleasureenergy payoffs. When skiers “choose a line” (a curvy path) to navigate steep moguls, they connect with an inner knowing, a sense of courage and adventure in their hearts. The run is guided by the flow of grace, faith, trust, intuition, and belief (Core Heart Energetics). Even with some personal challenges, this 90Day program is all downhill from here. Source is always flowing towards greater joy and expansion. So today, feel into your Heart, really listen to its universal drum beat, turn into your own FreeSpirit and let Grace flow into your body. Follow that effervescent stream as you envision your glorious 90Day run. What’s your Heart Mission? More Love, More Fun, More Abundance, More Creativity? What 35 big waves does your inner 7yearold (and Highest Self) want to ride over the next few months? What waves does that 7yearold want to ride today? This is just the beginning of our second childhood, and this time, we have lots more power, pleasure, freedom, and waycooler toys!

Page 17: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 7 SHAMANAUT TOOLKIT: SHIELDING This exercise (brought in by Talat Healing teacher Margaret Kelly) is ideal for cleansing and boosting the energy system to keep bright, beautiful power throughout your travels. You can do it a couple times a day, like brushing your teeth. Shielding runs 520 mins at first, then more quickly (60 seconds). Knowing and practicing shielding is required for the Certification track. Often when first working with clients, I’ll do a 20 min “root canal” shielding (adding my own twists) to illuminate the power centers along the spine. As you master shielding, feel free to trick out this multidimensional tool according to your own guidance. 1) Breathing regularly, imagine an equilateral triangle outlined in liquid silver light in your pineal gland, in the center of your brain. Superimpose a second equilateral silver triangle over the first one to create a silver Star of David. 2) As you begin ujjayi breath, imagine with each exhale that you set this Star in your pineal spinning rapidly. After 13 breaths of spinning the star, exhale forcefully and completely, while moving the Star through the central column of your body, down between your feet and into the core of the Earth, where it merges with the Earth's silver Star of David. 3) Take another deep breath and imagine the Earth's core Star spinning rapidly like you just did with your own. Inhale deeply, and imagine your smaller Star moving up from the Earth and hovering just beneath your feet, carrying a silver cord that connects it to the Earth's core Star. 4) As you exhale, imagine that the Star exudes a round silver field beneath your feet (almost like standing on a plate). Inhale deeply, and imagine that silver field moving in a column up your body to the top of your head. Exhale, and reinforce it. 5) Inhale deeply again and imagine the Star rising to the top of your head. Exhale, and imagine another silver "plate" field being created there and connecting to your silver column, like a top to a jar. Inhale one more time, and as you exhale, feel the silver cord of your connection with the Earth. 6) Breathe gently, and hold an attitude of gratitude for all that you are. You may hold an intention that positive forces come in through the shield and reach you, and that negative forces reflect off it harmlessly.

Page 18: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

WEEK 1: ROUNDUP This week, we’ve explored feeling energy, balancing the BodyMindSpirit Trinity, and accessing our spirited inner seven yearold to carve out juicy waves. I recommend writing down the 35 big waves for each month, and the full 90 Days. Let’s keep it simple. For example, my 90Day big waves are: (1) Have a kickass 90Day program launch (2) Move to Topanga Canyon, LA with my Fluffy goddess Claudia (3) Start that EDM mediumship project I’ve talked about for years, using music as an Electric Jesus healing prayer. It’s all about fun, pleasure and adventure! (No fixing here.) Also, I recommend an inspiring and activating regiment of Psychonaut Training for improving the body, mind, and spirit. We have the “Spike” (yan) “Top Gun Training” for power, strength, courage and momentum kundalini, core workouts, physical training, yoga, outdoor adventures. I recommend finding a buddy to enhance the fun, and keep an inspiring schedule. You can do checkins each week. Then our “Fluff” (yin) “Principessa” Training might involve essential oils, spa days, sunbathing, massages, sensual pleasure. This calms, nurtures, and opens our systems to receive guidance and fluffy, expansive Love energies. While many accelerated workout programs (which I salivate for) are mostly spikespikespike, to bring in a full alchemical LoveFusion, we’ll need to fluff it up in full pink, furry, glittery splendor. I personally like to do core/kundalini work in the morning to fuel my day, then a little sacralized cannabis (with prayers to St. Mary) for yin yoga, restorative stretching, and massaging when the sun goes down. The use, or nonuse, of enhancers, accelerators, and medicines is determined by each psychonaut and their own individual study, and capacity. You already know Guideline 2: You Are You’re Own Psychonaut. We here at Psychonautic Airlines release any legal and karmic responsibility. This is your Eternal Journey.

Day 8 POWER CENTERS (Chakra Activation Mp3) In the beginning was the Logos, the Word, a Divine symphony orchestrated across our vibrating multiverse. Many cultures know of this living, oscillating energy (prana, chi, mana) and utilize its power for healing and evolution. As energy beings, we naturally receive and transmit cosmic vibrations. Different traditions have slightly different maps of the human energy system, but they all reveal some type of motherboardlooking system (“Tree of Life”) of circuits, canals, and power stations (chakras) that fuel, nourish, and guide our way. I’m especially fond of holistic systems that depict seven primary chakra centers up the spine, with each chakra sparkling a color of the rainbow – the red root, orange sacral, yellow solar plexus, green heart, blue throat, indigo third eye, and violet crown. Perhaps we aren’t just meat bodies, but walking rainbows of crystallized white light. Each chakra vibrates on a certain level of consciousness and relates to the diverse elements and aspects of our world. For example, the root (red) is generally about earth, grounding, and stability while the solar plexus is fire, power, confidence. In this work, we’ll open and activate blocked, murky, or constricted power centers to receive and transmit more Positive Energy for momentum and manifestation. Program 1 covers power centers 14 (root to heart) in detail while Program 2 will fly into the upper realms of chakras 47 (the heart bridges both programs). For those wanting to immediately jump in, I’ve uploaded a 20min Chakra Activation mp3 on the Dropbox to guide you through each chakra. Utilizing sound, color, and breath therapy, this popular gem works wonders for daily cleansing, opening, and illuminating of the powers centers. Give it a whirl. Those on the Certification path are required to do it for the next 7 days. It’s a highviber exercise to share at events, workshops, and – my fave – medicine ceremonies.

Page 21: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 9 THE POWER OF POSITIVE MOMENTUM – Claudia The more we study energy, the more we realize that the quantum world mirrors the basic laws of the physical world. It doesn’t take much to recognize that when you throw something up, it comes back down. Likewise, there is predictability in the way that energy behaves that is just as consistent as the basic laws of physics. Imagine you are riding a bicycle down a very tall hill. You’ve just approached the top of the incline, when you realize your brakes aren’t working, so you decide to put your feet on the ground to stop it. Now if you decide you really want to test the laws of physics, and you decide to let your bicycle go halfway down the hill, and then try and stop it, you would have, let’s just say, some unpleasant consequences to deal with. What I’m talking about here is momentum, which is pretty easy to understand in the physical world. But what about the world of energy, thought, and vibration? If you think about it, you probably already have a pretty good intuitive understanding of how momentum relates to thought. For example: if you wake up in the morning and start thinking about all of the things you have to do that day, then you check your email and discover that your client is unhappy with some work you did for him, then you get in the car to go to work but your battery is dead, and you call AAA to give you a jump start but they take forever to get there, and on and on…. But imagine you were to get your vibrational “sea legs” before you get out into your day. What if instead of thinking about all of the things you need to do, you decide to lie there for a while and bask in the comfort of your bed, then spend a few moments appreciating things that are easy to appreciate ? Maybe you get up slowly and meditate before you check your email. Even if you are hit with something unpleasant, you’ll be able to deal because you got a different momentum going—a momentum that goes in the direction of how you want to feel. Try playing around with the momentum of your thought when you first wake up in the morning, when you’re naturally in a clearer space. Focus on general things that don’t challenge you, like the way you want to feel today, and things you appreciate. Do this for as long as you can, without introducing subjects that might contradict this positive momentum, before you get out into the specifics of your day. In essence, you are making sure your brakes work before you ride down that hill.

Day 10 THE PSYCHONAUT HERO’S JOURNEY Awakening to the Quantum Fairy Tale In the network series “Once Upon a Time,” the evil queen’s curse transports Fairy Kingdom characters into a contemporary small town in Maine. They have forgotten their stories, their homes, and even worse, the existence of magic. The queen, crowning herself as mayor, stomps down any action of Love with the cold machinations of the law. “You know what the issue is with the world?” the Mad Hatter remarks. “Everyone wants a magical solution to their problem, and everyone refuses to believe in magic.” Isn’t this the dilemma of our world today? And it stems from a myth long, long ago. ExilefromEden belief systems original sin, shame, and separation have embedded a “notgoodenough” thoughtspell across today’s lawcontrolled lands. Fortunately, in these legendary times, the Force awakens, guiding us on an unprecedented hero’s journey into untold quantum realms. The upgraded physics – multiple vibrational dimensions, “dark” matter and energy – are more fractal fairy tale than Newtonian logic, where linear answers vortex into a deeper Mystery and Knowing. During my 10year quest, I’ve awakened from being a jaded atheist to the healing magic of the earth, sun, moon, stars, angels, celestial kingdoms, princesses, and digital DMT dragons. I play with sacred powers, work with mystical guides, and adventure with wizardy psychonautic allies. In the Quantum Reality, we set out of the dull and mundane and step into an uncharted territory that is ancient, mythic, scifi – the place of legends. The Holy Grail doesn’t lie in faroff Arthurian lands, but right inside our Hearts. It’s the cure for all curses, a sacred marriage of energies that brings back our Nobility, Courage, and Grace in “The Treasury of Light,” as the Gnostics called it. Almost laughably, the cure for the curse is the one solution we knew all along True Love, the Source that powers the universe.

Day 11 THE STORY OF FLUFF & SPIKE Yin & Yang Upgraded It all happened when a coyote moved into my spare bedroom in SF. A Twitter employee by day, at night he would don a fullbody, mascotlike outfit to prowl in the park, at the party, and in the bedroom (which gave him his greatest energetic payoffs). One day, he starts describing Claudia as “Fluffy.” She’s got the classic bombshellblond pillowy hair and sunny, lovely personality. There’s a fluffy, sparkly energy about her, just like her longhaired, bunnysoft cat, Principessa (Princess), who soon became our cottonenergy idol in the Universal Church of Trickster’s “Cult of Fluff.” Then one morning, Claudy wakes up and starts calling me “Spike.” You’re just a Spike she says, in a nice kind of way. She was right. I’m part adrenaline adventurer, swift hermetic messenger, and Electric Jesus bug zapper. My energy is often cool masculine blues, Silver Surfer fast, and Atomic Love Bomb white – a spike flash, than all fluff. Over time, Claudy and I understood fluff and spike as an upgraded look at yin and yang. It prepares us for a walk on the quantum wildside, an electrifying dance of repulsion and magnetism, creation and consummation across cosmic scales, creating union and balance in our world. There’s the atom’s fluffy nucleus and spiky protons zipping around it, cumulous clouds and cracking thunderbolts, gossamer nebulas and violent supernovas, Marilyn and JFK. “Fluff” and “Spike” mix, mingle, morph, and flow in an infinitude of energies, elements, and forms. I use whatever energy patterns work – Tronlike lasers to rootcanal the spine, fluffy blue water to chillax and calm, electric hotpink lace to invigorate the heart. Through this program, we’ll conduct many alchemical experiments of Advanced FluffAndSpikeONautics. Your mission today is to pay attention to all the magical Fluff and Spike combos around you – in people, places, moods, animals. I’m especially fond of the botanic gardens, where I chameleon the beautifully complex, threedimensional patterns of plants to try out new energetics in my own aura. I often find powerful medicines (ie: cactus for protection, pink orchids for sexual healing) in all their fluffyspikey glory.

Day 12 SINUS SAYS Healthy Nasal Passages “Breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness, which unites your body to your thoughts. Whenever your mind becomes scattered, use your breath as the means to take hold of your mind again.”

― Thich Nhat Hạnh

If you hold your breath for two minutes, I bet we can reduce all your life needs down to one. That awesome house, job, food, even water aren’t so relevant when breath is on the line. Breath brings in oxygen, life, space, vivifying energy to boost up our systems. Just as we open and clean the energy meridians, we also do so with the nasal passages to allow smooth, expansive flow throughout the body. To assist our shamanaut breathwork (and the diverse experiments to come), I recommend a daily sinus cleaning program that removes mucus and environmental irritants. For the gentle type, a Neti pot in the morning could be just the right chamomiletea way to wake up. In fact, this is the way I recommend for most folks. But for the spikey espresso crew, I like to put a teaspoon of quality sea salt into a glass of water, mix, and then gargle in my mouth, cleaning all the spots. Then I hold my right nostril and snort salt water up the left, blowing mucus out the right. I’ll switch to holding my left nostril and snorting up the right, then alternate a couple more times. The frequency, water temperature, salinity, type of salt, and force you use are entirely up to your own psychonautic guidance (Guideline #2). Finding the right portion of saline (you’ll know if it’s too light or heavy) makes it easier, as does being mindful of what your body prefers. Whether you fluffi pot or spikeosnaut, irrigating the nasal passages releases facial pain, pressure, sinus issues, and even helps the cilia flush out impurities.

Day 13 THE ART OF FEELING GOOD I remember that day in Prague so many years ago. Twentyfour, broken hearted with a chronic throat illness that barely let me talk. Standing over the Wishing Cross of medieval Charles Bridge, I threw salt in the water and made a desperate wish: “Universe, or God, or whatever, I don’t want Leah back, or any of what I’ve lost. I just want to Feel Better.” That simple prayer laid out a 15year journey – healing my throat through homeopathic medicine, training and teaching Bioenergetics, puking my way through 100 ayahuasca ceremonies. Then I started to remember this wasn’t just about Feeling Better, but Feeling Good, I mean Really Good! In a quantum realm, where the perceiver effects the perceive and energy follows, To Feel Good, we simple FEEL GOOD! Rather than “fixing” and “solving” everything, we connect with our inner being to raise our vibration into more delicious quantum moods. Often people think once they’ve obtained external successes, they will then be happy. But here’s the thing: if you focus on lack of something, we get more lack. Instead, we find ways to be happy and grateful right here, right now to create tomorrow’s tasty manifestations. I recommend seeing yourself always in an awesome movie, maybe a Love story, and you are enjoying every minute, all that juicy pleasure, even during the challenging times. If you do wobble and get into a mood for a bit, I might suggest a nap, fun TV show, revitalizing witchy rituals, and some fluffy Principessa time to divert your focus until your energy has picked up and you’re ready to rock the task at hand. When we fill ourselves with Fun, Pleasure, Joy, Grace, and Adventure, we overflow with quantum power that electrifies and vivifies the world. With all of our psychonaut experiments, techniques, and modalities, our mission always remains the same, every moment of every day: FEEL GOOD. LIFE IS MEANT TO BE ENJOYED! So what life movie are you enjoying today?

Day 14 THE BASICS OF BIOENERGETICS Bioenergetics is a powerful intuitive science that combines process work with energy healing. It considers our emotional history to be crystallized in the body and that our blocks in accessing our own power are the results of “unfinished business” from early childhood (and perhaps other lifetimes). While growing up, we develop energetic defense systems to prevent us from being overwhelmed by difficult experiences. The only problem is that when we don’t shake it off, like animals, and the feardefenses crystallize into our energy field, holding us in unhelpful behaviors and thought patterns. Fortunately, by accessing the greater wisdom of the unified field (and our Inner Being), we connect with multidimensional possibilities that wouldn’t otherwise be available. Stepbystep, we release blocks, and access enormous quantum flow for miracles to stream in and manifest. Developed by Alexander Lowen, as an extension of Wilhelm Reich's work, Bioenergetics utilizes five central personality types, each consisting of different body characteristics, psychological defenses, life tasks, and incredible gifts. A brief overview of these personalities reveals the provocative titles of “creative/schizoid,” “lover/oral,” “finisher/masochist,” “defender/psychopath,” and “organizer/rigid.” According to Bioenergetics, every person has at least a portion of each personality type within their character makeup (“light” and “shadow” aspects), but some are more prevalent than the others. Rather than thinking of these as definite labels, I see them as energy patterns that come through, ones I’ve learned to recognize and help illuminate and transform. With just five types, Bioenergetics is sweet, simple, and superpowerful Over this course, we’ll learn Bioenergetic process work, while exploring each character type in greater depth. No doubt, you’ll get the juiciest taste of it in our Psychonaut Healing Sessions. Today, I ask you read to my article: “Voicing the Unvoiceable: Why Energy Healing Is so UnPC” to see how this healing work can apply to people you know, groups, and entire nations. [Article in Dropbox] Also, just looking at the 5 names above, which ones do you believe to be primary, secondary, and tertiary in your own life? We’ll test it them out as we introduce each personality structure over the course of the program.

WEEK 2: ROUNDUP This week we explored the human energy system and its primary power centers (chakras), yin and yang upgraded in all its electric Fluff and Spike forms, an introduction to the 5 Bioenergetic character types, healthy nasal passages for healthy breath flow, and most importantly, the ongoing emotional and energetic Art of Feeling Good, Really Good! I might recommend revisiting online chakra charts to further your knowledge of the power centers, including their locations, colors, elements, emotions, life qualities, associated senses (sight, sound), glands (pineal, thymus), helpful essential oils, opening vowel sounds, activating “seed” sounds (“lums,” “vum,” “rum”), power animals, and more. Revisiting the chakra activation mp3 can help give you an embodied experience of these (required for the Talat Healing Certification track) and of course I welcome fellow psychonauts to engage in whatever experiments move you. Are there chakras that are brighter, stronger, healthier, happy? Ones that need cleansing, activating, and more fluffy love? Are you more present in the upper or lower chakras, more heaven or earth? What about right/left balances in the overall system? Its your energyecosystem to balance, nurture, and enjoy.

Day 15 Elements & The Sense Guidance System Whenever people say they don’t believe in “energy,” I kind of laugh. Energy isn’t just those mysterious quantum vibes, but the simple waves that tickle and tantalize our body’s five senses. Our guidance systems are designed to process vibrations for sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste, as we interpret and interact with the world. A study of the vibrational expressions of mediums – air, water, earth, fire – creates better understanding of quantum flow and physics, and how we can play and participate. Psychonauts watch and learn from elemental waves how water miraculously shapeshifts into clouds, rain, snowflakes, ice, rivers, and oceans. Fire dances from a single flintspark to a blazing fire, electricity to the nuclear fusion of the sun. Waves of the earth tumble entire cities while quieter vibrations inform us the train is coming. In addition to our five senses, there’s that sixth one, the big one: Intuition/Guidance – our Internal Being, or Higher Self – that pings out Love signals and naturally knows how to magnetize juicy quantum vibes. As kids, we connected with this Free Spirit and Living Energy that had us believing in magic, animal guides, and imaginary friends. Societal patterns and thoughtsystems may have knocked us off temporarily, but reconnecting with this inner guidance system (and unique Source Energy) provides the compass and powersource for our evolution. Today, study the diverse elemental mediums around us, and how our guidance systems interact with these waves. How is your sense of sight, smell, hearing, feeling? Are some senses stronger than others? Could we practice them more to improve our observation and intuitive guidance? Connect with your Inner Being (I recommend in your heart center) and experience these elemental sensations on a more divinely delicious, universal level. Maybe go to the beach, the woods, a city park, and feel your emotions dancing with the healing waves around you. Today, we rediscover magic.

Page 31: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 16 Earth Power Let me introduce you to one of my healer friends – she’s the state of Colorado. See if you can bring her into your energy field, especially in your root chakra. Fill up your lungs with the crisp alpine air, soak in the winter sun reflecting off snowy mountain tops, sense the solid granite earth cleansing and magnetizing your core, and the vast electric grid of soil, rock, plants, animals and intersecting elemental energies that permeate us. Colorado saved my life. It gave me muchneeded MotherEnergy, animal medicine, and a natural homeland to heal family trouble and trauma. Colorado’s been with me since my birth, carried me through Europe, the East Coast, and still helping me in California. She expanded my healing far more than therapy ever dared. And she’s just one of my many terranautic allies. That’s how we roll on an accelerated path, always adding to our shamanuat toolkit. So, where is your native home? The sacred place of your Native Intelligence. Where do you meet the birds, plant spirits, moon, and stars? Feel into your home and it’s own unique magic – places you used to sneak off to, even in subdued suburban fields. Psychonauts know the Indigenous Wisdom that all land is of divine creation, especially that place we call home. Today, go to that one place (at least in your mind’s eye). Let Home heal your heart, your family, your loved ones, and renew your hope. In the next three weeks, we’ll activate our “Earth” power center (1st chakra), to build up our Foundation and Inner Home. This is the time to reconnect with nature, let in/out your wild medicine woman and fierce shamanic adventurer. Connect with animal spirits and natural medicine, the champagne music of frogs, and the stability of a tree. This is the opportunity to go deeper into Earth than ever before. Study her slower, denser vibrations. Become a friend, lover, and true ally. Grounding deep into Gaia, we create a firm foundation that can launch us far up into the Galactics over time.

Day 17 YOUR CRIB “You might stand around and be in a gang, but home is anywhere you hang.”

– Railroad Jerk In a longago episode of MTV’s “Cribs,” 900 aeriallanding pioneer and professional skater Tony Hawk took me through his magic postmodern kingdom of fast cars, hightech gadgetry, and a personalized skatepark in his own backyard, all with his unique stylistic twist. Tony had been a master of manifestation and his home was a shrine, power center, and adult playground for his dreams and desires. Now, give yourself a tour of your own crib. Where are the psychonautic toys and talismans, power objects and rockstar lounge spaces, diva costumes and outdoor adventure gear, visionary Android Jones paintings and tilemural dragons you created? How can you upgrade your space to support your 90Day journey? I might recommend starting with a house clearing – it can be room by room, step by step. Clean all the corners and hidden spots where old energies cling and confuse, even those file cabinets when you’re up for it. Maybe move the furniture and decor around for new energy paths to flow. Feng shui it up. Then sage (if you’re not allergic), essential oil sprays, protection prayers, even a little salt along the doors lifts the vibration. Do you have a Psychonauting space for yoga, meditation, even community workshops? I suggest creating a badass shamanaut alter to boost your program. What items need to be there? Crystals, Tarot cards, superhero figures, dildos, bull skulls? What’s your unique style? Cool ideas you’ve culled from other sources? Where do you want to go next and how do you express it? The act of cleaning and sprucing up a home can teach us much about healing and it’s creative process. We first clean, gut, move things around and then we bring in the sparkly decorations, mood lighting, maybe even grow a garden. Psychonauts know Home is right inside us, whatever crossroads we traverse.

Day 18 Claudia FINANCIAL ABUNDANCE: It’s Easier Than You Think A couple of years ago I was sitting in an Ayahuasca ceremony in Northern California, and I met my father in a vision. It didn’t feel like him at first. The unassuming German history professor, who had quietly preached a dogma of nihilism during his time on planet earth, had in death, exploded into a supernovalike consciousness of pure love. He projected a knowingness that made him difficult to recognize at first. Yet once I relaxed into the experience, I felt like I had never known somebody so deeply as I did in that moment. At the time, I was braving the rapids of my Saturn Return, which had knocked the wind out of me on multiple occasions. I had lost my job, and spent much of my savings on healing an ailment that western doctors had, for the most part, met with a blank stare. As a last ditch effort, I turned to Ayahuasca for help. Unbeknownst to me, I was embarking on a path that would turn into something much greater than a quick fix for my physical distress—the magic of the universe was beginning to reveal itself to me. A feeling of ecstasy began to pour through me as I reveled in this opportunity to speak with my father. He told me that he had never been better, and in a single stroke of beyondthegrave wizardry, he released me of the energetic chains to my family line, with the simple words, “none of those burdens were ever yours to carry.” Then I asked him a question. I told him I wasn’t ready to return to my previous state of existence—the dreaded “getting a job” factor didn’t feel like an option to me, and I needed money. Enough money to carry me for a while. My question was met with the simple words, “It’s done.” And in that moment, I knew it was. I didn’t think much about it for the next few days. After ceremony, there is a period of integration for all of the elements of the experience to begin to take shape, like a constellation forming in the night sky. About a week later, I got a letter in the mail. The letter said that I had three stock accounts that I had inherited from my father that I had never known about. They totaled about $30,000. Something clicked for me right then. The connection between what I had asked for, and what I had received, was undeniable. It was that simple. I had learned what a yes from the universe feels like, and it had been revealed to me. And so I had gotten my first real taste of the magic of the universe.

Page 34: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 19 BIOENERGETICS: CREATIVE/SCHIZOID Our first Bioenergetic character study is the Creative/Schizoid. This personality type needs earth and grounding the most. Generally having difficult experiences at or around birth, or even in past lives, these people encounter difficulty connecting with the earth, and feeling safe in the world. They may have a faroff, scared look in their eyes. Their bodies are often lanky, pale AbeLincoln types, or anorexiclooking pixies that crave EarthEnergy nourishment to heal old fears and lightup a sunnier attitude. In the beginning, most unhealed Creatives express a sense of ungroundedness, nerves, terror, or social anxiety. These are the Emily Dickinsons, the gentle hiding deer, the awkward geniuses that souljourney to relearn trust, safety, power, and grounding. Their mission is to fuse their electric spirits with this nutsandbolts, billsballsandall reality. They Get Real. In their Bodies. Fully Incarnate to express their maestrolike creative powers. You might have them say, “I matter. I Am Matter” as a start. I often tell Creative clients, “The exile is over.” Time to leap out of the ivory prison tower and reenter the world, including enjoying a full social, career, and love life. It’s time to celebrate all those great things those other normal humans get to do. And stepbystep, through simple techniques, energy, and inspired action – that’s exactly what we do. Spinal cleansing, first chakra activating, grounding, anger work [which is covered later] help recover earth power. Psychonaut training focuses on getting in the “meatbody.” Hatha yoga, running (even barefoot), cardio, core work, strengthtraining are good. We all have the Creative in us, and we’ll cover various healing modalities for this structure in our Bioenergetic sessions, and throughout this program. When healed, Creatives become the rockstars of the galaxy, riding fastmoving streams of imaginative energy to places noone else dreamed. They are the bridgers of heaven and earth, the David Bowies, Tori Amoses, David Lynches, Andy Warhols that zap highvibe GeneYes into our lives. Today, investigate how the Creative manifests in you and what healings might apply? For those wanting to explore more, Barbara Ann Brennan’s “Hands of Life” covers the Bioenergetic types in textbook fashion. [I might recommend just using “Creative” (not “Schizoid”) to focus on the positive.]

Day 20 ABBIE HOFFMAN & AVATARS It was 2001, sometime just after 9/11. I was living in Spain after a fouryear stint in Europe. Then I saw “Steal this Movie” about 60’s media activist Abbie Hoffman. His YIPPIES used charm, flare, wit, and a trickster spirit to create some of America’s most effective media stunts and political messages – throwing money on the NY Stock Exchange floor, levitating the Pentagon, running a pig for president, not to mention that whole Chicago ‘68 thing. Although, I’d never organized a political action before, watching Abbie’s antics, I inexplicable thought with some confidence, “I can do that!” It fused so many of my passions, none of which I’d ever pursued before – revolution, media spectacle, performance, politics, and pranksterism. I returned to Colorado, then moved to NYC. The Iraq War happened, the Republican National Convention set its teeth in on the city, and 500,000 people readied themselves for the largest protest ever against a political convention. I was at the right spot at the right time. With the media excited, the town buzzing with words of “another Chicago ‘68,” I stepped in with a vision that had grown over twoyears of Intuitionfollowing. Calling myself “Jonny America,” I lead a 30person media group that landed on the major TV networks, 24hour news channels, “Time,” even a JimMorrisontype cover photo on “NY Magazine.” Fusing some of Abbie’s pioneering grooves with our 21st century upgrades, we soared upon massive movement waves – hosting rockstarlike media spectacles, bedazzling journalists with hopefueled soundbites, expressing ourselves with creative abandon, reveling our way through adventures, fun, friendships, and romance. When we know our Avatars, and Avatar Energies, we connect with a power and knowing that makes Going Big and Beautiful a fun and thrilling ride, and also the path of least resistance. Today, feel into your favorite Avatars. Who are they and what wild dreams might you experience connecting with their trailblazing energies?

Page 36: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 21 AVATAR TRAINING As Electric Beings, we can connect with the universal EnergyInternet to access all sorts of avatars, healing upgrades, and quantum downloads. Let’s start with the avatars... Many avatars come from childhood Luke, Leah, Han. I dug Broncos quarterback John Elway (for miracle comebacks), Wonder Woman (my inner diva), and Ben Franklin (for founding such a weird America). Often avatars are ones we find impossibly cool, as they flow with our Electric Heart’s Fire Jimmy Page, Trent Reznor, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Kerouac, McKenna, Jobs, Joplin. And what about the ones who went big and blew up – Jim Morrison fans especially? This time, it’s different. We go both Big and Subtle, meaning you ride the Big Dream waves, while also building love and friendships, doing yoga, growing a garden – the little moments that give us balance and pleasure. Healing isn’t an “Either/Or”; it’s a “Both/And”.... times infinitum. So who are your main Avatars? The impossibly brilliant GeneYeses, the coolest cats of all holy existence – from Hercules to Athena, Marilyn to Madonna, Jesus to Janes Addiction? We need to hit the “fuckyeah” scale of 95% or over on the innerkid excitement level. And they can change over time. My Main Avatars have shifted to St. Michael, Hendrix, and John Lennon currently. I connect with the Hendrix electric purples and yellow lightning bolts for mediumship music, St. Michael blue’s for Psychonauting, Lennon light for the Love Revolution. Now, feel into your Higher Self. What archetypal energies flow through you? What Warhols, DaVincis, Kim Gordons does your energy field resonate with most? If you’re glowing at 95% or above, that’s you’re GeneYes awakening. 8085% ones are allies, but not likely the big ones. We want Alevel Avatars. Now fuse the energies of your top 24 Avatars with your unique style. What new concoctions bubble up – Bruce Lee meets Gershwin and Frank Zappa? Feel this energy. Be this energy. Once you’ve got it really flowing, perhaps an inspired action appears as the next step of the adventure. Those Avatars were just like us – underdogs who saw a wave and choose to Go All the Way!

Page 37: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

WEEK 3: ROUNDUP This week you went on a firsthand investigation into elements and how we process those vibrations with the senses. You’ve been connecting with your Inner Being for intuitive guidance, and upgrading your crib to power up your program. Let’s continue to advance these studies as we move along. For three weeks, we’re digging deep into the earth, taking our energetic roots to the molten core, and rewilding our spirits in the magic of nature. How do you get your Terranaut on? Native Intelligence, animal wisdom, speaking with the plants, digging in the soil, calling in the directions? As we ground, fear and terror dissolve into highvibe power, confidence, and a true sense of safety. This is an ideal time to heal that “Creative” Bioenergetic type in you. A selfpsychonaut program for opening and activating the feet, legs, hips and groin will do wonders, especially if you’re hitting your Alevel training. With our travel schedule, Claudia and I can’t always go to classes, so we we use MyYogaOnline.com. For under $10 a month, we get all the hatha, yin, restorative, foamroller leg classes we desire. We’ll often do a couple day to highvibe our systems. I also utilize certain avatars to help me with my training, and propel me through old “Creativetype” hesitation tendencies. P90X fitness guru Tony Horton bellows joyfully in my ear, “Do your best and forget the rest;” Achilles brings me swiftness; Artemis, precision; and St. Michael, unstoppable warriorangel energy. Psychonaut Guideline #6 tells us Attitude is the Answer, meaning energy trumps uninspired action any day of the week. Taking a moment to put on your cheeriest mood, and maintaining it, is the best way to accelerate your training. Let the physics of flow do the heavy lifting. Often, I’ll play “Eye of the Tiger” beforehand, chant a joyous “yum” from my heart to rise above a challenging pose, and then take all that pleasure and positivity I’ve built in my practice and use it to fuel my creative work and psychonaut sessions.

Day 22 MORNING RITUALS “Every day I feel is a blessing from God. And I consider it a new beginning. Yeah, everything is beautiful.”

– Prince I still remember that dream where I woke up in SF to the alarmclock radio. A local DJ was blasting delish, divine grooves, which fluttered out of the speakers and across the room in animated butterfly waves of color. With a childlike excitement, I rushed to the window. Dimensions of oncehidden Love vibrations illuminated the city’s green hills, blue atmosphere, and glossy skyscrapers with kaleidoscopic vivifying energy. I was listening to the music of the spheres, silversweet harmonics, and an unstoppable Joy singing in the hearts of every man, woman, child, and chihuahua in town. It was new and yet all so familiar – real but quantum fairytaleish. We had done it. I mean finally done it. Humanity had awakened to its own universal nature, something Rastaman Marley dubbed “One Love.” Then I woke up to the most amazing day. As my dream suggests, waking up in the morning sets the foundation and magic for our day. Are you greeting the sun’s return, saying electric prayers, pulling a Tarot/Angel/Oracle card, doing witchy elemental rituals? What about yoga, meditation, writing, journaling? Even if you have work and a commute, there’s still time to kickstart your day with a magical foundation. Maybe get to bed a little earlier, so you’re ready to go. When people ask me how I wrote a book, I tell them: “Two hours of inspired writing every morning.” Here’s what Claudy does for her morning witchiness: “Kundalini yoga or chakra activations with Talat, walks in nature, picking a Divination to set the tone for the day, and making healthy psychonaut concoctions that serve as a bribe to get me out bed in the first place. I like to mix it up so it always feels fresh to me, but the intention is always the same: to connect with the clarity of my own Source Energy and to not introduce some detail that might spin me out. That means no phone, Facebook or emails before I’ve really established that solid connection. Then I can get out into my day with my sea legs.”

Page 40: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 23 THE CHELATION When it comes to energy healing, the chelation does it all. Beginners often think they need to learn a million handsonhealing modalities before they’re any good. I beg to differ. To me, healing is more like skiing and surfing than calculus. You learn the techniques but mostly you get on the hill, in the water and have fun! The chelation will give you everything you need to venture confidently into quantum wilds. It grounds, cleanses, activates, strengthens, heals, and illuminates the entire energy system. It’s the foundation of my handson practice and has evolved with me over 10 strange years. I’m willing to bet, combined with courage, experience, intention, and creative invention, the chelation will give you the skills to Go All the Way in your Jedi practice. We’ll also use it as a base for other healings – brain and hormone balance, addiction healing (especially for the Certification track). I’ve used it to heal everything from anxiety, depression, deficient chakras, left/right imbalances, heartbreak, fear of public speaking – you name it. The chelation is especially effective when you experiment with intention and imagination around the desired healing. The Drop Box instructions say only to use white light (not colors) in the beginning. The handsonpositions take a bit of time, so relax, repeat a few times, and learn. You’ll also find a video of me demonstrating the chelation on a humancoyote. Make sure to watch the crossover part. We only do it once, and don’t alternate sides. The instructions suggest pingponging energy back and forth from the chakras in the palms of your hands. Like sex, I like to start slow, highvibe, and deep. You can also circulate energy through your hands from your heart. Experiment. Notice how the energy flows. If you’ don’t feel it at first, just keep going, you will. I recommend getting down the basics and practicing it a few times. Those on the Talat Healing track need to send in two 1paragraph chelation writeups with a practice client session. What was the healing about? What did you experience? Your client? What did you learn about energy? And What Life Mastery homework might you prescribe the client to integrate the work?

Page 41: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

As you evolve your chelation mastreodom, I highly recommend experimenting with advanced fluff and spike energies – colors, sound healing, different energy flows, speeds, densities... The adventure’s yours!

Day 24 JUST SLEUTH IT! The great thing about Bioenergetics is it’s a superpower you carry out of the healing room and throughout your daily life. And there’s probably no other Bioenergetic process I enjoy more than “Sleuthing.” Claudia noticed this skill and started calling me, “The Sleuth,” a psychic detective. I would use it to divine what she wanted for dinner, where we lost the car keys, or how to maneuver through a seemingly “solutionless” problem. In sessions, I’ll often find we’re lost in an incredible Mystery. There’s a huge question mark and we don’t have the answer. It’s a fun, thrilling space to be in – trusting, slowing things down, paying attention to the oscillating quantum waves, witnessing your clients smallest body inflections, as we fuse observation, wisdom, guidance, and gutintuition to allow the unexpected to come through. It can be a powerful solution, medicine, or new amazing path not seen before. It’s always deeper, more spacious and multidimensional than quickego, analytic answers. Often, I’m not exactly sure where this gut feeling comes from – the subconscious, quantum field, inner voice, guides, or simply applying my own wisdom based on experience. Usually, it’s an alchemy of sources, but the golden ones, the true holographic treasures, come from the Guides. The voice is always crystal clear, the message clean and strong, and usually the healing weirdly effective. For instance, when working with a female client letting go of her hatred towards men, I saw a vision of St. Michael erecting a crystal cock throughout her body, suggesting she walk around as a giant one of those for a week. Trusting the process, my client laughed and took on the mission of playing with big wangyang energy in her travels. A week later, the “crystal cock medicine” worked miracles – turning years of hatred into luscious love. The experience inspired her to YouTube a “Thankyou” video to men everywhere, she met a chivalrous knightinauraarmor that week, and attracted several new clients. As strange as the guidance was, the medicine totally worked, and I’ve learned to trust it.

Page 42: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

So, how do you sleuth in your life? What are your psychic detective skills? Where does that wisdom come in, even in daily life? How do you keep your observation heightened? And how will you sleuth out your Big Waves over the next 90 days, crystal cock and all?

Day 25 PSYCHONAUT LEGS Have you ever noticed people run like robots? Straight arms, rigid pace, forwardmoving machines on autopilot? Not my psychonaut allies. We’re the ones who jumped BMXs, skated halfpipes, and raced backyardrigged GoKarts. We apply concepts of adventure, muscleconfusion, and experimental motion to open energy channels never touched by robotchicken running. Sometimes we’ll motor it through like the others, but most often we’ll cruise over the trails, zigzag up stairs, leap above rocks, crisscross our hips, stride sideways, pivot on different parts of the feet, footballstep imaginary tires, alternate shamanaut breathing styles, implement kundalini arm moves – whatever inspires us. Spirit leads the way, the mind chillaxes, and the feet get acquainted with the earth and all the pleasure points it touches. [Running can be immensely healing for an often ungrounded “Creative” type.] I like to go out into the mountains, beaches, parks, cliffs and deserts; sunsets, sunrises. Sometimes I spliff it up and iTunes psychonaut grooves, but mostly I pay attention to the elemental waves – the earth, animals, plants, sky – that continue to initiate me. Healers often say your childhood is in your legs, which means we can let go of the past by opening, aligning, activating, and strengthening them. Psychonaut Running, yoga, foam rollers, and massagers are some faves. I like to mix it up daily for the best results. You can also DIY Body Psychonaut, drumming your fists along your inner/outer thighs, calves, ankles, soles. Experiment with pressure, pace, and rhythm, and most of all, pleasure. Then you can knead doughy muscles with your fingers, gently free the crystalized muck around the joints, squeeze open the tops of the shoulders – whatever works, just put in pleasure energy to raise the vibes (rather than “fixing” and “fighting” things). Follow your guidance. Often Claudia and I will bodynaut while watching a movie. Two hours later, I’ll feel like I’ve got a brand new pair of legs.

Page 43: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

So, what are your legs going to do today? Over the next three weeks? What psychonautic experiments will take place?

Day 26 Dental HighGenes

“No performer should attempt to bite off redhot iron unless he has a good set of teeth.” – Harry Houdini

As humans, we are inheritors of a vast genetic fortune passed down through the blood and bone of our ancestors. From opposable thumbs to giant brains to bipedal chickendancing, we’ve been astute innovators – not just with external technology, but our own internal workings. One true marvel is the teeth. What a strange act of nature? Hard, calcified, white structures that aren’t bone, and yet, they have the strength to chomp, crush, grind, and chew through all our food. Thank you ancestors! Cleanliness brings us into Godliness and a solid psychonaut dental program will not just clean out the mouth and throat chakra, but the bloodstream and gut (connected to the teeth). Many detox divas I know will do teeth and gut cleanses before kicking in the liver, kidney, adrenal work. Why? Because when we sparkle up our teeth, the whole system fluffs up. HighGene programs often start simple, then evolve with your sleuthing. After my morning rituals, I’ll do a spikeosnaut sinus cleanse with saline water, then gargle with organic mouthwash hitting all the spots, including the tongue and far corners in the back of the throat, especially the lymph nodes. Then it’s on to a full floss job – getting everything in between the teeth, going gently below the gumline and all. Then I brush in relatively aggressive circles, getting all those pesky parts in the back – cleaning, whitening, sparklifying it up. Once again, the most important thing here is attitude. Have fun. Be present. Focus cleansingwhite energy with each floss and brushstroke. I like to do my dental program at least 3 times per day. Afterward, Claudia and I gargle organic coconut oil for 10 to 15 mins (often while doing other activities), spit, and rinse for some delish oil pulling. You may want to start with a nice foundational cleaning and checkup at the dentist. Many of my friends go to holistic

Page 44: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

dentists to remove the toxic metal fillings. Some even journey to Mexico where the prices are onefourth the cost. Just Yelp it. So what treat are your teeth in for today? Over these 90 days? What Psychonaut highgene are you bringing to the program?

Day 27 PSYCHONAUT SESSIONS Bioenergetic Process Work At its finest, Bioenergetics is staggeringly improper, unwaveringly unPC, wonderfully iconoclastic and warriorfly liberating. It asks clients to leap into emotional terrain they falsely believe to be offlimits, to move beyond their fear threshold ("the death layer") to connect with and release their emotions, enabling them to reclaim unintegrated aspects of their self. I was trained by a Bioenergetic GeneYes – Barry Gordon of the Connecticut Healing Institute. Barry just knew how to access the undulating quantum field, charging it’s vibration, allowing the energy and wisdom in the atmosphere to bring profound guidance and therapeutic medicine. He was a patient hunter, asking gentle questions, listening, witnessing, letting subconscious emotions surface. Often, we’d seem so very lost, but he always trusted the waves, eventually dropping a Love Bomb of insight that had us bursting in tearful release, usually followed by satisfied smiles. I’ve carried Barry’s tradition throughout my weirdly evolving practice. Bioenergetics’ simple philosophy, physics, and five personality structures provide an easy, supersolid foundation to surf all quantum vibrations – from past life regressions to guide connection, dream therapy to romance reboots, shamanaut upgrades to plantmedicine integration. For today, let’s read the “Bioenergetics Process” lesson on the Dropox, which covers this unique process work indepth: how to charge the quantum field, get people to really feel their story (especially the emotional energy), then we find “the charge” in the situation, and patiently sleuth out the healing third way. Today’s read will have you ready for all the quantum magic in our sessions. Talat Healing track will add at least 20 mins of process work to handsonhealing sessions, emailing me some of that in your writeups.

Page 45: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 28 ANIMAL MEDICINE Power Animals & Eagle Eye Claudia Walking to my first ever aya ceremony, I followed a hawk’s supersonic screech up a densely forested hill in the NY Catskills. I found a clearing and decided to meditate. The hawk screeched its blessings for several minutes, then quieted. When I opened my eyes, I searched for the hawk – nowhere in sight. Then a gut intuition said, “Look up.” I did and there was the hawk circling and circling right above me, while I’d been meditating. He let out one more glorious screech before soaring into the distance. That afternoon, hawks came to me in visions throughout my ceremony, helping me heal, fluff, and fly with my opening HeartWings. As denizens of Spaceship Earth, we are surrounded by a vast Gaian energy grid, a networked information system with Life Force flowing through its intersecting vibrations. What a diverse explosion of colors, sounds, forms, and behaviors exist on this weirdly wild planet, especially in the Animal Kingdom – from the explosive speed of cheetahs, to the slowfluff of sloths; the spikeyscaley strength of thrashing crocodiles to the ballerina flightdances of hummingbirds. The specific energies, physical qualities, and activities of animals enable us to access the vast Ecological Internet that inspires and guides our journeys. Claudia has a trained eye. We call her “EagleEye Claudia” and her refined gift brings in tons of “Power Animal” synchronicities – coyotes for the Church of Trickster, a bobcat while meditating as patient hunters, a dozen dolphins flipping out of the water after our first LA Psychonaut event. The list is endless. Even as I write this a hummingbird buzzes me with a soft flyby. So how do you Rewild? Do you have an eagleeye? Get into nature? Maybe diverse habitats? What are your Power Animals? Do they shift over time? Are new ones coming in now for your 90Days? And how do you establish your relationship with those energies? Do you have Animal Medicine cards? Items on your altar? Paintings to create? Documentaries to study the creatures you adore? What about acting like one –

Page 46: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

on the hunt, the run, playing in the trees or fields? And most importantly, how do you continue to build your attention, connection, appreciation, and trust with all the living magic around us? Today, let’s go all Olivia NewtonJohn – “Get Animal!”

Week 4 Roundup: Shamanaut Emergency Kit: Navigating WhiteWater Once Claudia and I went whitewater rafting near Glacier National Monument. I was in one of those singleperson kayak rafts next to Claudia and the larger group. I loved the calm waters, taking in that Montana gold light and blue skies. But this was my first time and when the rapids hit, I panicked, stiffened, clenched and almost flipped the raft. My nerves trembled as I considered the threemile stretch of troubled water ahead. But then, I remembered to trust my training – that I “knew too much” not to feel good. So, I took a breath and calmed my system, aligning with my spirit. Centering myself, I was no longer scared, but oddly exhilarated, ready for adventure! When the next rapids hit, I “chose my line” skierstyle – relaxed, breathed, and silversurfed my way through a sweet line around the rocks. My capacity quickly expanded as I sleuthed the immediate physics of the experience. And the funny thing about it – those sections with the rapids were the funnest part! So, how are you navigating your white rapids? Do you have a stellar Spiritual Emergency Kit to get you through the kundaliniawakening white rapids? We all have vibrational wipeouts (even the big wavers) and there’s a real psychonauting art to laughing at a good spill and getting back on your feet. Some things I recommend for your kit are a solid buddy you can call for support (even do the program together), long essential oil baths, sunbathing to power up your system, meditation, calming breathwork, walks in nature (anything but the scenery in your head), naps, naps and more naps. Once you’ve rested and rebooted, then you can strut out into the world again. And of course, preventive medicine is always the best course of action. Actively filling your energy field with positive emotions, pleasure sensations, and selflove boosters helps to build capacity so there’s fewer and fewer wipeouts, even on the Big Waves.

So, what’s in your Shamanaut Emergency Kit?

Page 48: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 29 JEDI TRAINING A Decade of Quantum Initiation Let me ask you a question, the one I kick off most of my talks with: “Do you feel like you’re part of a larger initiatory movement happening in the world? If yes, what are your dreams and gifts to share? If ‘no,’ would you like to be part of this community? Generally, over 90% of any given room will raise their hands. We must be in remarkable times, where personal evolution goes so widespread. Yet, there’s such little mainstream discussion about the initiatory process that we psychonauts find ourselves coming together to share our maps and wisdom. Here’s 3 levels of Quantum initiation that Claudy and I have been discussing at our rendezvous events. The Star Wars Phase: This is “the glimpse” phase. You’ve been exposed to a few tricks in the Force, taken the Matrix redpill of entheogens, yoga, meditation, EDM, or some type of awakening experience. While a bit hesitant, unsure, and disbelieving, you’re excited by this new terrain and embark on a fun, experimental stage of workshophopping, new agey reading, and playing around. The Empire Strikes Back Phase: Luke or Leah are deep in their training, knowing the inner shadow, battling their Darth Vader fatherdemons. This stage tends to go unnecessarily long and deep into the trenches, as we somehow stumble out of the ayahuasca hellrealms to live another day. The Return of the Jedi Phase: Luke walks into Jabba’s Palace a changed and initiated man. He’s no longer forcing or fighting his training. He’s centered in himself, a Jedi energy maestro, embodied Flow and Grace, and although he may still face a rancor or clocked emperor, generally he knows it’s ewoks from here on out. He’s mastered himself, knows how to access and harness the force for univesral awesomeness, and he’s completely firm in his knowledge that there’s love in Vader too, a deep love that is only truly revealed when Vader asks for Luke to take of his mask (ego, insecurity, walls) so he can see his son with his human eyes. We’re all family in the end. What I’ve learned from 10 years of initiation? (1). It’s all about Love, Love, and yes, Love – selflove, the magic energy medicine to the universe. (2). The “Empire” phase can be totally quickened if only we focus on the 95% “FuckYeah Frequency” feeling fun, awesome, and joyful, every moment in our lives, in this galaxy not so far away.

Page 49: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 30 Want a Big LIfe: Then Let Yourself Be Big! “Well who do you think you are? A super star? Well, right you are!” —John Lennon Los Angeles is a big city. I mean, like megalopolisstyle, holyshitIdon’thave enoughtimeinthislifetime to even BEGIN to explore, understand, or relate to this city in any thorough way. I was looking at a map the other day, trying to wrap my head around where everything is in relation to where I live (Topanga), and it just didn’t make any sense to me. And instead of letting its massiveness freak me out, I am embracing it–loving it, really. See, I’m from the San Francisco Bay Area and have lived there for most of my life, and while it certainly is a big city by most standards, it feels like a quaint and comfortable city by LA standards. I’m pretty sure I have set foot on just about every street in San Francisco. It’s rare that I see something that really surprises me there, whereas in LA, it’s almost more surprising to see something that doesn’t surprise me, if you catch my drift… And it’s not just the geographical land mass and the population size that is so gigantic. It’s the energy of this city. As I was driving here on my move down from the Bay Area, it was like I could feel this vortex of energy sucking me in and pulling me towards the city. Talk about the power of attraction! If I had moved here a couple of years ago, I can feel that the energy here would have been “too much” for me to deal with. I would have gotten overwhelmed, spun out, and probably would have had to move back to the Bay. But now, the bigness of the energy here feels like a match–exhilaratingly so–to the energy work I have been doing on myself over the last few years. I imagine that Los Angeles is this giant buffet–maybe the biggest on the planet–with some of the most delicious food you could ever imagine eating, and some of the most repulsive food you could ever imagine eating (literally, and metaphorically). It’s a city that’s got it all, and now that I am learning to be more in sync with what I really want, it feels like I am entering a new phase of my life that is all about feasting. Serious feasting. So in celebration of all things BIG, I want to invite you to feel into the bigness of your energy field. If you think about it, you have been hanging around on this planet for a while, and have collected incredible amounts of data about what you really want. Every

Page 50: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

time you live something that you don’t want, the larger part of you picks up a signal about what you do want, and the culmination of these requests equals the masterpiece that I am calling, Your Tapestry of Badassery. It sounds magnificent, and it sounds vast and somewhat ethereal (a bit like Los Angeles), but I assure you, it doesn’t have to overwhelm you or freak you out. It’s the pure energy field of who you really are, and yes, it is BIG, but it’s easier to tap into than you think. I have been playing with this exercise from the comfort of my bed, first thing in the morning, when I’m feeling fresh, though you can do it any time you’ve got a few minutes to just sit and be. It’s great at building confidence, selfesteem, healthy boundaries with others, and allowing your Big Dreams to start coming into clearer focus. Close your eyes and take a couple of long, deep breaths to focus inwards, and then feel into the energy of your body. Notice any particular qualities: colors, textures, movement, or patterns. Allow yourself to explore the feeling of energy in your body, and relax into it for a few moments. Now, imagine that this energy field expands just beyond your physical body, maybe by a foot or so. Feel what it feels like to sink into this extension of your energy field. Notice if you feel any change in sensation, or emotion. Now, imagine your energy field expanding out into the room around, filling every crevice and corner, nook and hollow. Allow your energy to stretch out and play, swirl and dance, and take up space. You can stop there, or you can imagine your energy field taking up greater and greater fields of space, from your entire home, to your neighborhood, to your city, to the entire planet, to the Universe…as far as you can go while continuing to relax and allow yourself to sink into greater and greater awareness of the Bigness of You. Hint: If you get overwhelmed or start feeling anxious as you start seeing yourself as big, slow it down and rest in the last comfortable place you found. Sometimes I can do this and go as far as the entire city of Los Angeles, and other times I have to keep it to about a foot in front of me. There’s no right or wrong here, do whatever feels good to you. Play around with this game, and let me know how it feels to let yourself Be Big

Day 31 SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO? Bioenergetic Location Scouting Isn’t Divine Timing everything? Effortlessly, magically ending up at the right time and the right place with the right people that allows unexpected wonders to occur. I’ve been in several right places for longer epochs of my life – 90’s Prague for the expat movement, Burning Man, NYC for media shamanautism, and my biggest land yet, Space Camp in heavenly Topanga, LA. So, how do we know when we’re in the right place for our hearts, careers, and psychonautic evolution? There’s a simple Bioenergetic technique to find out. Rather than working with a detailed prosandcons sheet, let’s back up to the bigger picture using the power of metaphor for bioenergetic location scouting. Let’s look at an example from a session. I had a client asking if she should move from her rural Canadian town to Montreal. I asked her to describe both places as if they were people. She described the rural Canadian as a “greylife” shutdown 50’s housewife. Montreal was a pleasurefilled Bohemian salonlady with revolution playing in the cafes at night. So, which was the fuckyeah? The housewife ranked at a 50 out of 100, and sweet sexy belle Montreal 98. It was a dream, but totally doable. She overcame some financial challenges and a custody battle with her son, finally landing herself in lively downtown Montreal. By looking at a place as an animated being/person and youre relationship to it (this works great for testing out jobs too), we’re able to see really hits the Fuck Yeah Frequency. Is your city a 95%? If not, what can you do to enliven that relationship, starting today. Is there another place you know is a FuckYeah! Feel into it, explore, observe, and most of all, just keep looking at lovely things around you, as the effort of putting that into your energy vortex will manifest places you could barely even dream of.

Page 52: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 32 YOUR TAPESTRY OF BADASSERY Have you ever wondered what your dream career looks like? Duh, of course you have. That’s why you’re here. Now let me ask you a different question: have you ever wondered would your dream career would feel like? (Uhoh, you’re probably thinking, here she goes into soft, fluffy woowoo land, where we talk about our feelings, talk about our feelings, and talk about our feelings.) But that’s exactly what I want you to do: talk about your feelings about getting into a creative groove, starting a new career, and making money, because I know that the only reason why you want any of these things anyway is because you think it would feel freaking amazing to get them. I also know firsthand that tapping into a consistent feeling of positive expectation is the quickest, easiest and most satisfying way to get you where you want to go. Now let me go back to my original question: what would your dream career look like? Maybe you’ve seen other people who are doing some of the stuff you want to be doing. Maybe you’ve got your eye set on a dream salary. Maybe you’ve even considered going to grad school, where you’ll learn a specific career path to work in a specific field to make a specific income. But you’re just not sure what your dream career would look like for you. And the truth is, you don’t need to know. Because your dream career doesn’t look like anybody else’s. Your dream career is entirely unique to you. You can’t even imagine what your dream career would look like from where you stand right now, because it’s a synthesis of all of your dreams, desires, and passions that are entirely unique to you. I’ve discovered that when I tap into the feeling of something that I think I want, it shows up in a form that’s even more exhilarating, satisfying, and more perfect a “fit” for me than what I thought I originally wanted. So, just for a while, I want you to stop trying to figure it all out, stop trying to get to the end result, stop trying to visualize it and make it happen right this second. Instead, I want you to make a commitment to yourself: to tap into what you want your dream career to feel like. And see what happens.

Page 53: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

To try this out, make a list of 3 – 5 goals that you think you want to accomplish in 2015. They could be related to personal finances, to relationships, to creativity, anything you think you want this year. 1. I want to start making art on a consistent basis again. 2. I want to incorporate more ritual into my life. 3. I want to move to Los Angeles. Then, follow each statement with an emotional statement of why you want this particular thing to happen “I want to start making art on a consistent basis because it’s fun to just create things for the sake of expressing myself. I want to incorporate more ritual into my life because I know that it helps me feel more centered and connected to myself. I want to move to Los Angeles because it’s a city that has always fascinated me, called me, and because I like being in the center of a big, exciting city.” *Notice how my only ulterior motive in setting any of these goals is because of the way that it would feel to me. Play around with this exercise, and just for a while, resist the temptation to try and make something happen (while being painfully aware that it’s not happening!) Just take pleasure in the feeling of what it would feel like…

Page 54: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 33 SHAMANAUT TOOLKIT: THE DOLPHIN Ever suffered from anxiety, stress, panic, or a sense of disharmony from your inner harmoniawesomeness? Well, welcome to the human experience. Many of my clients come with bodyterror feelings, and surprisingly, psychonauts have discovered a simplicious solution for your bodyneedsfluffedup desires. Several years ago, when I was suffering from debilitating anxiety (810 hours daily), I stumbled upon the three magic healing touches: (1) Gentle Touch for energy healing/soothing (2) Pressure to squeeze out and release constriction, like in massage. (3) Vibration to fluff and cheer up tissue and molecules. As an unrepentant gearhead, I investigated a variety of pleasurerousing body massagers, finding the humble, inexpensive Dolphin Massager ($30 on Amazon) win out over more expensive models that would break. Tough, reliable and mobile, this adorable Sherman tank vibrates and fluffs your muscles and energy system right up. Back in the day, when I was suffering from anxiety, the Dolphin empowered and chillaxed me enough to rock my West Coast Book tour. When a pregame panic attack surfaced, I’d just roll out the Dolphin on my scalp, cheeks and jaw to move out anger, throat for better expression, shoulders to release the weight of the world, arms to open the energy lines to my heart, thymus for immune support, down through the solar plexus, navel, around the back, hips, legs, ankles and feet. After 2030 mins of Dolphining, the anxiety would completely lift and I’d be in a state of blissful freedom for several hours of speaking, partying, and afterparty cuddlepuddling. If you suffer from anxiety, panic attacks, or a need to feel superstellar in your own body, when it comes to happy, healthy results, that fluffy Sherman Tank of a Dolphin may roll right over Prozac in the long run.

Page 55: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 34 SELFISHNESS: THE ULTIMATE VIRTUE In the spiritual community, I hear a lot about the virtues of smashing the ego, being selfless, and service to others. While I believe all of these things are fine and well, and perhaps noble by some standards, my life has also taught me a very important lesson that I don’t think is talked about often enough: the importance of putting oneself first. Much of my story has been about service and sacrifice to the people in my life who needed it most. I derived much of my value from being a kind and compassionate person, who would “be there” for people when they were in trouble, or simply when they needed somebody to vent to. For a while, this felt all right to me, and I believe that I attracted certain types of people who were looking for what I had to offer: strong internal resources and an ability to help them feel better. But all resources run out if you don’t replenish them. I soon began to spin out of control in focusing on other people’s problems, and realized that I wasn’t just losing my own balance; I was robbing them of an opportunity to find their own resources, their independence, and their personal power. So I did the one thing that I could do in this situation: I decided to be selfish. I decided to put myself first on my list. I decided to let other people figure out their own shit, and not take so much of it on myself. I decided to do what felt best to me, even if it pissed other people off. Often that meant acting in ways that would not be considered socially acceptable by many: I avoided certain people and conversations, hung up the phone on family members, and gave myself permission to take as much space as I needed from the people who claimed to need me the most. I realized that in order to help anybody, I had to find my own balance first. And that’s exactly what I did. At first, my newfound selfishness kicked up a lot of dust in the lives of the people around me. But I stuck to my guns, stayed strong, and started feeling way better. And you know what happened? Those boring old relationship and family dynamics began to shift. Big time. In a short period of time, I started having fun with people again, and stopped resenting them so much. I started appreciating people for who they are, instead of feeling guilty that I couldn’t give them what they needed. And now my closest relationships are all based upon mutual respect and cocreative equality, all because I gave myself permission to be selfish enough to do what felt best to me

Page 56: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

And I can actually have conversations with people that uplift them, and feel good to me, and don’t cause me to lose my balance. And occasionally, when I do slip on the banana peel of old habits, I remember this: I can’t uplift anybody from a place of disconnection. Think of one area of your life where you may be giving your power away (hint: you feel bad whenever you think about this subject). Give yourself permission to disengage from it for a while, think about other things, and over time, create a new story about this subject that doesn’t throw you off your game.

Page 57: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 35 THE ART OF NOT GIVING A FLUFF I’ve always been a “big ideas” kind of gal. For as long as I can remember, I have gotten ideas from what feels like the molten core of my being—ideas that pulsate through the cells of my body in waves of ohhellyes goosebumps—ideas that feel so right to me, that nothing in the world could stop me from doing them.

Nothing, until I introduce that pesky, often crippling thought of: oh my God, what would other people think about me if I actually did that? And it makes sense, to a point. As children, we often stop following our bliss in order to please the people around us—our mothers, and our fathers, our teachers, and our peer groups. The resounding inner voice that tells us to follow the flow of what feels good to us, is often drowned out by the external voices around us, because frankly, they are louder and more in our face than our inner, “imaginary” friends. We often just think it would be easier to pick up the toys or do the boring math homework than to not (and it probably is, if we want to be fed or make it through the school system). While I believe most of the socialization that takes place comes from well meaning adults who want to help us to integrate into the world, in the process, we are taught that what you think about what I am doing is more important than what I think about what I am doing. And it sucks to live your life that way. Fortunately, once we are no longer dependent upon the fickle whim of “authority figures” (who had the power to give us a bad grade or banish us to a time out), many of us start to realize that something very screwy is going on with this whole business of trying to please other people. If one person in the room wants you to be one thing, and someone else in the room wants you to be something entirely different, you’re screwed. Who are you going to please? You’re setting yourself for disappointing at least one other person, and more than that, you’re setting yourself up for feeling totally shitty about not being yourself. What can we do now, to start tuning out the opinions of other people around us and tune into to the inner voice, which is guiding us towards becoming more of who we really are? I think the answer is pretty simple: stop giving a shit what anybody else around you is thinking or saying or doing. Okay, maybe that sounds easier said than

Page 58: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

done, but there are a few techniques I have discovered over the last couple years that have really helped me with this. 1. First, I find it helps to recognize that the opinions of other people are just that: opinions. Everybody is going to have opinions about all kinds of stuff, and there isn’t a whole lot anybody can do about it. It also helps to recognize that other people’s opinions are way less about you than you might think, and that people tend to project their own shit all over you, even if they don’t really mean to. 2. It can also help to recognize why you want the approval of other people. Is it because you want a gold star to tell you that you are doing well in life? Is it because you think somebody else might hold the answer to something that you want to know? I think what really comes down to is a desire to feel good about ourselves, and we often think that other people might be the key to that. If we can find reasons to feel good about ourselves, our own unique qualities, and our accomplishments, it can really help in tuning out all of those opinions being offered up by the peanut gallery. 3. I find that one of the most effective ways of tuning out the opinions of others is to find a way to get into a good mood before we go out into the world and start engaging with others. Then there’s a real cushioning pad that we have to fall back on, we feel more stable and connected to who we are, and we don’t get knocked around so much by what this one, or what that one has to say about anything. Remember: you’re the director of your own movie, and nobody else gets to say what you put in it.

Day 36 I’m So Excited: Hydro Power & the Sacral Center Whenever the Pointer Sisters’ “I’m So Excited” hits the car radio, I know I’m in for a second chakra tuneup. The song’s illuminated, bubblyorange vibrations revup the passion, creativity, and excitement flowing naturally through this power center. Located in the sacral area (just below the navel), this sexy chakra (called Svadhistana sweetness) is where we find creative energy, fecundity, pleasure, and sensuality. This is often the chakra that needs the most fluffy love. We have the wounds of our collective cultural struggles over sexual issues. Sexual abuse is quite common in family lines and amongst clients. Often, an experience like that can seem like a lifelong mood death sentence, blocking and depleting the second chakra as depressive waves kick in. Fortunately, this supersweet and sensitive center can reawaken quite quickly when we apply a radical, and yet totally obvious approach. Instead of thinking and punishing ourselves (or others); instead of hours of nowheresville talktherapy, we can simply reactivate the chakra by nurturing it, bringing in positive emotions, sensations, even healing ourselves through nurturing touch and yes, sensual pleasure – all those joyful, happy, fluffy vibrations. Just like Jesus, nothing calms and soothes my second chakra needs like the baptismal waters. For this section, we invite you to explore the wondrous waters around you. Discover the properties of the ocean, mist, clouds, trickling creeks, even water pouring out of your filtered tap. Where does your H20 come from? How do you drink, bathe, clean using it? How might you love and cherish this element more? Where might you visit water over the next three weeks to feel and release those old emotions? And how do you connect with the moon’s magic pulling the Earth’s great waters, included the molecules inside of you.

Day 37 BIOENERGETICS: LOVER/ORAL Do you know those people who are the life of the party, incredibly adept socially, gib, sensuous, and really great hosts? Those folks are the Lover Bioenergetic personality type. Do you also know those people who won’t stop talking, often leaving you drained before you get off the phone, almost like a vampiric energy. That’s also the Oral in effect. As multidimensional beings, we’ll often hold the light and shadow aspects of the Lover/Oral to be integrated and illuminated in love. According to Bioenergetics, the Oral/Lover type develops from being “stuck in the breastfeeding period of early development.” They may have experienced some type of abandonment or deprivation, where the child gives up the need for nourishment and prematurely attempts independence. Lover body types tend to be plump, slumped shoulders, underdeveloped muscular system, and a needy feeling in the eyes. They can talk a lot, often about themselves, having a tendency toward depression, clingingness, codependency, loneliness, and addiction, as they are hungry for affection. Complaining can be a symptom, as well as “greed” in wanting to get more than they are willing to give. They demand the right to be nurtured and fulfilled. When they learn to do it themselves, to be truly independent, and connected to their own Inner Being and Source Energy, they exhibit an incredibly generous spirit, becoming amazing hosts, communicators, networkers, and pleasure revelutionaries. One of the most famous Lover/Oral examples is Bill Clinton. It was his power, his charismatic wealth, and also his semidownfall (literally “oral” with an intern). Other famous Lovers would be hobbits, talk show hosts, Gertrude Stein, John Stewart. When working with a Lover/Oral type, make sure to avoid second chakra hooks by establishing proper boundaries and personal sovereignty. Ground the client and have them practice exercises of loving themselves in the mirror. They’re usually very good at learning daily pleasure powerups, once they’ve learned to go for the colorful fluffy energy instead of addictive, codependent icky patterning. I usually recommend they work on their abs, lower back, and core strenght. So today, feel into your own life and how this character structure influences you. What are your gifts, strengths, and things we can improve on? What oral friends do you have, and what famous Lovers do you admire in the world?

Page 62: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 38 DESSERT FIRST: PRIORITIZING PLEASURE Pleasure is such a wonderful thing. It is the natural, fundamental enjoyment of the physical experience, and the full expression of our divine nature in human form. I believe that all of us want it, crave it, and that we are here for the experience of it. There are so many opportunities for us to experience pleasure throughout our day, from our morning latte, to a walk in the woods, to an evening bathtime ritual; yet many of us seem to put it second, third, or last on the list of priorities, after family responsibilities, work responsibilities, and relationship responsibilities. There always seems to be something more important than devoting time to ourselves to feel good. Why do we do this? I think the answer is simple: I believe that we were taught, at a very young age, that we are here for the purpose of making somebody else happy. We are not here to enjoy our lives, but to please our parents, our peers, our teachers, and then our employers, our spouses, and on and on the list goes. Over time, this need to please wears on us, and we begin to lose touch with this most basic human desire of living and operating from a place of pleasure. In our quest to please everybody around us, we have lost sight of the very basic principle that we are the ones who are ultimately responsible for our experience pleasure, and have given our power over to the fickle whim of others. Many of us have begun to operate from a very interesting premise: that if we work hard enough, and prove ourselves to enough of the people around us, then eventually someone will take notice of our goodness and zap us with a magical pleasure stick. Well, my friends, I am here to tell you that the magical pleasure fairy never arrives and that only we have the power to stake our claim on pleasure if we want it to be a part of our experience. Today, I would like you to perform a bold experiment. I would like you to take something on your long list of responsibilities and to cross it out and replace it with something that you know will make you feel good. Treat yourself to a meal out. Go get a massage. Go take a walk on the beach. Without justification. Without apology. Just because it feels good to you. It might piss somebody off for a little while, but if you devote more and more time to doing the things that please you, you will begin to increase your own happiness factor and it will overflow onto the lives of people around you. Daily doses of pleasure are not only good for you; they are good for the people around you.

Page 63: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 39 “THE FUCK YEAH!” FREQUENCY It happened one day just after Claudia and I started the “Going All the Way!” program. I was sending a rather boring email to a client when suddenly the Happy Monday’s “Step On” downloads into my energy system. It was my guides waking me up, saying hey buddy, “This is your Going All the Way! theme song. You hear those thumping drums, the dancing synth, the guitar blazing it up, and those whistles and hoots that call in your guides like birds. This is the frequency you’re divine system needs to be running at to be happy and free. Listen to this tune – it’s the “FuckYeah Frequency” of the whole “Madchester” music scene. Talat, anything lower than a FuckYeah 95% will get you in trouble. All the time, let your spirit rise to 95% on the HeartGasm scale.” Taking that guidance, I remembered my mission and rewrote the previous email with a FYeah of 95% excitement, recalling how much fun that client is, and how much I love and cherish their own unique awesomeness. When I felt into their higherself energy system, it was also scintillating at 95%. In fact, when I felt into all my my clients, they were natural rocknrollers at 95%. The moments they didn’t fly at 95%, they’d have some type of anxiety or depressionish thing happening, as if trapped in their head. The FuckYeah Frequency is a flowfrequency moving through our entire body, celebrating our free spirits. It’s that 95% of just enjoying the fluff out of this awesome universe. It’s those connected moments, the ones where we feel at one with everything, mostly ourselves. But why depend on outer conditions for a big FYeah? Just retrain yourself to feel that 95% spirit every moment of every day. First, you’ve got to get a killer playlist to move through the blocks (all of them!). Songs keep coming in for me for certain missions. I’ve got Rush’s “Free Will,” U2’s “Beautiful Day,” some Kanye, that kind of thing. I blast these songs in my system like music therapy, energizing me with posi vibes and momentum. Then, you keep a focus on your breathe. Try a mantra of “Fuck” on the inhale, “Yeah” on the exhale for a day and try not to smile a bazillion times. Anything that turns on your innerkiduptofuntrouble self is on the right track. Killer friends. Killer creative projects. Killer fun. Killer sextainable gardening (it can be done). But most of all killer FuckYeah energy in your soul that means 95% or above. So what’s your FYeah song to lift your day?

Page 64: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 40 ENTHEOGENIC SUBSTANCES In podcast and radio interviews, people will often ask me about psychedelics, and if taking them is cheating on the spiritual path. Oh boy. I like to say life itself is a psychedelic or entheogenic (godinducing) experience. Smell a rose, breathe the air, jump in an icy stream and tell me that’s not a consciousness altering moment. So is ingesting ginseng, sage, lemons, sugar, coffee, Coors Light. Some of these I choose to ally with in my psychonautic studies; others, I’ve learned to stay away from due to my own experience or enough field reports. Like me, there’s a whole honry crew of folks who love the powerful “psychedelic” allies – from the natural realms of shrooms, aya, and iboga to the chemical concoctions of DMT, LSD, MDMA – the acronyms go on! Throughout this program we’ll take a look at various entheogenic medicines from fresh perspectives in the emerging psychonautic renaissance. Of course, any psychedelic conference is going to bore you with the endless mantra of “set” and “setting.” Why? Because it’s so fluffying important – where and who you roll, trip, or candyflip with. That’s where Psychonaut Guideline 2 comes in: “You are your own psychonaut.” Knowing your capacity, limits, friends, preferences, rituals, guides all help. It’s your study, especially when it comes to dosing. Heroic doses can be fun, but even McKenna ended up shying away from them in the end. These days I keep things fairly light, mostly with microdosing in energy work. Some of the most powerful healers I know never partake – life itself gets them there. Fortunately, my training in the Santo Daime ayahuasca church gives me a firm foundation for psychedelic fun at the festivals, so I don’t end up like those kids you see passed out in the mud at the end of the night. (You are you’re own psychonaut!) No doubt about it, the entheogenic red pill is out in the mainstream, and with so many medicine circles, shamanaut centers, and garage explorers, new quantum realms are opening up for us to play, heal, learn, wipeout on, and explore. Have fun!

Page 65: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 41 EMBRACE YOUR ADD WHY YOUR SCATTERBRAIN IS YOUR SUPER POWER In school, I was one of those kids who could never focus for very long on topics that bored me. A true class clown, as they say. I rarely saw a good reason to do my math homework, and would rather endure whatever punishment my teachers saw fit to give me than to plow my way through a tangle of equations. Whenever I had to take a standardized test, I would fill in those multiple choice boxes randomly, or in a pattern that looked pretty to me. I remember once in the fourth grade, we were given “fraction books” to immerse us in the elusive world of number ratios, and I literally got up in the middle of class, in front of the teacher, and started singing a song I had just invented in my head: “Who needs a fraction book when you can sing and dance?!” Needless to say, my teachers were not impressed. was never officially diagnosed with ADD, but I had all of the classic symptoms: an inability to focus, a tendency to live in my head, and a monkey mind that would pingpong all over the place from subject to subject, unable (or unwilling) to settle on one topic for very long, probably because there were just so many bright and shiny objects that caught my attention. Now a woman in my early thirties, I can now see my younger self as a horse that wouldn’t be broken by the system, and though it cost me a few gold stars by some disgruntled teachers, a part of me must have realized the the ridiculousness of forcing myself to do something I had absolutely no interest in doing. I also realize that as a child, I was guided by a profoundly curious nose that liked to sniff out different possibilities, different perspectives, and different subjects, and I had little regard for the standard American schoolcareer trajectory of choosing one thing and sticking with it. The one thing I was missing as a child was the ability to center myself, emotionally, amongst all the different ideas, opinions, and information that flowed at me.

Page 66: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Fortunately, I have spent the last few years immersing myself in a topic that perhaps, was the first thing that truly sustained my interest for any extended period of time: the Art of Feeling Good. As simple as it sounds, my willingness to feel good regardless of anything going on around me has had profound effects on my clarity, my creativity, and my productivity. Seemingly unrelated intentions, interests, and desires are beginning to converge in ways that I could have never imagined a few years ago. The pieces that used to feel scattered and confusing have begun to form a pattern that I can interpret and translate into my creative livelihood. In my work now, I get to be a writer, a photographer, a chef, a speaker, a designer, a model, and a teacher–a true Renaissance soul whose unique combination of passions and creative pursuits weave together in ways that I couldn’t just sit down and figure out. I’ve had to let it unfold organically, from a simple willingness to feel good before I jump into action. For all of you hopelessly ADDed out folks out there, I’ve got good news for you: your socalled disability can be your best ally. Your mind holds so much potential for new ideas, new connections, and new vision, and your unwillingness to fit inside anybody else’s box means that you’ve got a darn good chance of birthing a creation that is truly unique and utterly fantastic. The more you allow it to flow to you, and the more you tune your inner dial to the resonant frequency that is broadcasting your specific answers, the more satisfying your creation will be. And isn’t that what it’s all about?

Page 67: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 42 AQUANAUTICS: WATER MEDIUMSHIP There’s something about water that I just love. Hot springs, hot tubs, bathtubs, the ocean, rivers, lakes, swimming pools—whatever the vessel may be, there’s something about submerging my body in this element that instantly puts me in a good mood. Whenever I am in need of soothing, I get into water. Whenever I am looking for inspiration, I get into water. Whenever I want to connect with my creativity, I look to water. And with a little patience and a willingness to surrender to the flow of my own energy stream, I always get what I am looking for. In fact, I have become such a waterenthusiast—such a fan of connecting with my own divine nature through getting in water, being in water, and moving in water—that I have given this process a name: Aquanautics. It is at the core of my study of the Art of Feeling Good, and it’s right up there with meditation at helping me relax, rejuvenate, and reach higher states of consciousness. What is it about water that allows me to go so deep into myself and to flow so far along my inner river of creativity? I think there is something inherently comforting about being in water, where I can allow myself sufficient distraction from the world of terrestrial responsibilities, and where I can rock myself into greater states of clarity, ease, and trust that everything is working out for me, for the people around me, and for the world at large. It is as if I am returning to the womb—where the demands of the world begin to melt away and I can connect with the pure essence of my being. These days, I sometimes spend up to three hours a day in my hot tub, and though I have discovered certain movements and techniques that feel good to me, I have discovered that Aquanautics is more of a mental and emotional journey than a specific physical modality that I could teach. Still, I have mapped out a pretty consistent general process that I use to get into the zone, the flow, or whatever you want to call that tapping into inspiration. It goes like this: as soon as I climb in, I begin to relax into the physical sensations of being held by the warm water, and recite emotional words in my mind, like ease, soothed, surrender,

Page 68: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

nothing to do right now, letting go, et cetera. I focus my mind to feel the resonance of these words as the energy behind them begins to settle in my body. I begin to relax into this sense of peaceful well being, and I allow myself to rest there for a while, until other, “big wave” thoughts begin to flood my mind – inspired answers to questions that have been percolating, ideas of things of things I want to do in my life, and lightningbolt clarity about how to proceed with certain projects I am working on. The longer I allow myself to rest in the feeling of general well being, the clearer, more inspired, and more specific answers I receive. It is as if by entering the void of nonthought, I am creating a nucleus to attract thoughts from my broader, allknowing perspective about the details of my life. What’s the best thing about Aquanautics? It just feels fucking amazing. And the great thing is you don’t need a home hot tub – you can do it in the bath, at the ocean, your local spa, or even come visit your friends here at Space Camp.

Day 43 ZEN & THE ART OF PSYCHONAUTING Like many Americans, I had the cursed blessing of surviving a PTSDinducing childhood. For years, my mother would explode into unexpected rages, screaming at us kids while crashing the vacuum against the upstairs furniture. Over time, these emotions manifested in a nervous ball of abdominal pain. I experienced panics attacks, chronic depression, suicidal thoughts and physical terror upon hearing footsteps at the front door. Like 60 percent of adult Americans (according to the latest CDC report), I sought salvation in prescription antidepressants. The symptoms never waned, but these drugs added a mental cloudiness and body numbness that isolated me even more. Fortunately, my story doesn’t end here. Something else was happening along the way. Partly estranged from my family, I drew power and creative expression from the highadrenaline escapades I initiated with my childhood friends. Night sledding in the Colorado foothills, BMX quarter pipes and daredevil skiing provided more comfort, support, and confidence than church, school or family ever did. Even with the panic in my gut, my desire for adventure brought me to live in Europe and finally New York City, where I explored healing modalities, completing a twoyear bioenergetic medicine program, to help relieve my PTSD. But after years of fighting my inner shadow and demons, I was still suffering from debilitating anxiety. All that changed when a friend suggested I join him in smoking cannabis before a vinyasa class. I enjoyed yoga, but never liked the drills: move here, breathe this way, upward this, downward that. I also never really ‘got’ cannabis: hit bong, lose keys, listen to Fleetwood Mac, pine over old girlfriends. But the combo in class was pure joy and evolutionary enhancement. When I stretched into an extrawobbly warriorone pose, a bluish current of light rushed through my spinal column, flushing out blocked energy. Tronish green healing colors opened my chest during backbends, and pink neon waves nourished my hips in the deep openers. Most holistic modalities discuss the human energy field, but here I was seeing quantumlike colors and waves in my minds eye, which completely tantalized the scifi

Page 71: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

adoring kid in me. Fusing cannabis, yoga, and energy healing over the next few months, I illuminated chunks of the the black bowling ball until it was down to a manageable shotput. Finally, I could move to San Francisco and start my bioenergetic practice. My next breakthrough came when I visited the tumultuous waters of Ocean Beach, CA. As I watched the surfers carving up the barreling surface, it suddenly hit me that they were riding 5foot waves of physical energy, not because they had to, but for the fun and thrill of it. In that moment, I understand that you just can’t ride big waves with a woeisme attitude. What if instead of battling my darkness and processing every bit of energetic trauma, I could find the courage, skill, and audacity to surf my roaring emotional currents…not because I had to, but for sheer pleasure? That was the moment I became a “Psychonaut.” A popular term in transformational subcultures, psychonauts are explorers of consciousness, studying and navigating the diverse waves of the quantum multiverse, using mind/body altering tools, such as meditation, entheogens and biofeedback machines. What it really meant to me was a total attitude adjustment. I had grown up learning disempowering moods from my mother— “life’s hard,” “things suck,” “it will always be this way.” Now, I resurrected that excited 10yearold who could confidently soar high above BMX quarter pipes. Using my cannabisdosed practice, I embarked on what I called “The Art of Psychonauting.” Unlike therapy, fun and adventure were priority, just like in surfing. With my ownTony Hawklike style and bravado, I’d carve out big moves, joyously surfing my shadow for a delicious adrenaline payoff. Several months in, the results astounded me. The abdominal “black bowling ball”—he nightmare of my 38 years—had eroded and dissolved into tiny, dispersed pebbles; the panic subsided, my mind cleared, and my body felt like one of those Hawaiian poweryogis on Gaiam TV. I experienced a wonderful new feeling—extended happiness. I soon fell in love and kickstarted dream projects with my dream girl, Claudia. As my capacity grew, so did my ability to love and laugh at most situations. I began having compassion for my mom, and the pressure she must have felt raising three kids mostly on her own. Would I have even learned healing and Psychonauting, my life’s passions, without our troubled relationship?

Page 72: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

So I reached out to build a friendship, phone call by phone call. Smart, savvy, bighearted, and hilariously unstoppable, she was really cool, and I soon understood that I had misinterpreted her as a kid. She wasn’t “mean,” nor did she think I was worthless. She was just someone who had struggled with her own intense emotional waves, much like I once did. We eventually became real friends and allies, especially when nerding out on one of our favorite shared interests, American History and the Civil War, which my mother had taught to middle schoolers. Once, I asked her what she had learned from studying this dark period: “That most humans are generally honorable and good underneath,” she said. I nearly cried hearing that from her. Today, as I continue to expand as a person and professional psychonaut, I discover more and more that my mom is right: most humans are not just honorable, but incredible beings, if you’re wise enough to pay attention. Thanks to “Zen and the Art of Psychonauting,” I’m learning to let go of my civil wars and to dance with my inner and outer “demons” until that which terrified me becomes a trusted friend. Talat This article originally appeared in “Elephant Journal”

Day 44 ORANGE COLOR THERAPY “I had a dream I stood beneath an orange sky with my sister standing by. I said, "Sister, here is what I know now... In your love, my salvation lies.”

”Orange Sky” by Alexi Murdich That night was a revelation at Burning Man. I’d had the perfect MDMAdance downloads at Heart Robot and on the way back I passed a theme camp covered in LEDlit walls that bubbled like psychedelic champagne bubbles. The luminous screens sparkled in multicolored kaleidoscopic patterns and my guides whispered in my ear, “Hey kid, put your energy field in front of that!: So I did. My energy system fired up with the fireworking pinks, the pulsating whites, the liquidy blues, and cascading green. My guides starting whistling and hooting through me, like winged angels celebrating. In that moment, I finally understood how to access the environments around me to color up (and power up) my energy system. Naturally, I took the study “off playa,” nourishing my light body in colors daily – the wildly colorful plants at the botanic gardens, the beach, mountains, sky. Nature is one of the best color medicines, especially all that green life to open your heart. Magic Eye holograms are also a fun way to soak up energy patterns while practicing seeing multidimensionally. I’d even access the colors of shiny billboards as a type of psychonautic jujitsu, using the forces of “the matrix” for my advantage. With all the talk of indigo and crystal children saving the world (and I believe they will), if there’s one color I believe could treat society’s deepest diseases, it would be the highvibe, energized feminine power of orange. Orange lights up all those old sexual traumas and insecurities and brightens them up into pleasure, joy, creative play, and excitement. So today, and for the next three weeks, what creative ways can you soak up orange and harmonize with its sensual frequencies? And for the tech heads out there, the vision from Burning Man is on like Donkey Kong. I’m currently investigating LED screen magic for color healing during EDM “cerebrations” to bring the guides in. Feel free to join the fun! – Talat

Day 45 SEXEDELIC: ELECTRIC JESUS TANTRA Self Practice There’s only one person you ever have to really love, and that, of course, is yourself. If you’re truly your best friend, advocate, snuggle buddy, and sacred lover, you’ll fill yourself up with eternal Heart vibrations that naturally flow out and fill up the world. It’s the overly fixating on others that throws us off our own wave and gets us stumbling for approval. I believe it’s the same with sensuality and sex. If you’re having yummy experiences, revving up your pleasure systems and energy fields, learning what you love, and opening up blocked channels with highvibe light, you’ll never be dependent, or codependent, on someone else. Thanks to my selfpleasure energy practice, I’m never that guy at the festival desperately seeking someone to bed once 3 am comes around. Wherever I go, I know I’m always in for a sexy night with one of my favorite play partners of all time – myself. As controversial as it can be with some clients, a solid selfpleasure practice is one of my key shamanaut tools for FuckYeah confidence and Rock Star health (I rate it right up there with yoga and meditation, maybe more). Back in college, my Women’s Lit class laughed at the idea of 19th century doctors using vibrators to treat what they called “hysteria.” But I think those docs were onto real medicine. By vibrating, touching, nurturing, breathing into some of the most stuck places in our body, we move through emotional/sexual trauma, as the energy loosens and lights up into sparkly oranges and pink fluff. There are tons of tantra teachers, books, and videos. You might enjoy checking out Mantak Chia’s work. The psychonaut approach is always one of a self, evolving study. I’ll often smoke cannabis to get in the flow, and see/feel more energy; then I experiment with breath, vowel toning, vibration, pressure, lighttouch, bringing the energy up my spine, through my thighs and legs – anything that works. For men, I might suggest focusing on the internal orgasms, even small pleasure bubbles. Maybe hold off on blowing your wad until the full moon for a real energetic cleansing. Although folks can be hesitant at first, opening your root chakra via the anus (fingers, vibrators) is one of the most effective ways I’ve found to ground and release constricted energy. All that selfpleasure energy and practice will come in “handy” when connecting with lovers and playmates in your upcoming sex journeys. So, today, and the rest of this week, what solo sensual journeys would you like to see take flight? – Talat

Page 75: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 45 GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN Gender Alchemy & The Initiatory Path The night my inner goddess brokethrough, I’d been doing everything your mama, teacher, or preacher told you not to. It was second chakra month for the Talat Healing Certification School and I decided to take my tantric selfpleasure practice to the next level. I delved into my festishes (thanks Kink.com for finding folks as interested and excited about sex as me). I smoked santa maria (sacralized cannabis), did my prayers to Mary, then turned on “darker” domination fantasies I’d usually never permit myself to indulge. After all, psychonauts are “dwellers of the threshold” (a la Van Morrison). When I reached that really dense, congested spot in my pelvis, instead of fighting off the harsher, shadow vibrations, or even attempting to heal or help them, I decided to give them exactly what I would want – juicy, sensual, sexy experiences. In a way, it was like making love, even fucking, my inner demons and the pleasure energy whirled in purple and orange (Hendrix colors) along my central spinal column. I was in full body, ommming ecstasy when the first female spirit guide I’ve ever encounctered jumped the fun. “Diane, Diane, Diane, I’m Diane,” I heard a strong sexy voiced women say, as images of Hellenistic Greece poured into my mind’s eye. Her spirit whirled inside me, forcing me to leap out of the bed, so she could swirl all of this pink feminine power through my system, until it felt so good, I had to puke up a chunk of that old, stale stuff in my gut. I read that Diane (Diana) was an archer/hunter harboring both feminine and masculine qualities. She was a protector of women and slaves, often safe haven for the oppressed. Over the next few weeks, Diane would help me integrate my feminine, to open my heart, my hips, give me a diva sway. She was especially good on dates with women, and with my mother. Diane was a tough, sexy, unstoppable force, and knew how to deal with “Mommy” as more of a wild sister coming home for the holidays, than the formerly abused son. Diane most often took on the form of a Diane Ross like divine black figure, integrating so much untapped power into my honkywhite body. Thanks Diane! As weird as all this was, I can’t say I hadn’t warned. In the old hermetic and gnositc texts, they constantly discuss the male and female becoming one (the upper and the

Page 76: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

lower too) as a critical process of internal alchemy. Think hermaphrodites. Many of the most talented initiated healers I’ve met have a transgendered energy, or are even transgender in their appearance and sexual preference. “I’m gay, I’m gay” was a constant awakening cry in my personal evolution, even though I’m predominantly a lady lover (even the feminine in men). I’d hang out at the Castro at night, just soaking in the electric galactic pink energies zipping along the busy sidewalks, in the sizzling bars, and under the Castro’s rainbowwarrior flag. This was open and activated feminine/masculine energy – yummy! As a global culture continues to engage in the quantum initiatory process, I suspect the old models of rigid, ballbusting (and busted) agromasculine men, and the victimized feminine, will transform into more of a St. Michael energy, where both power sources elevate to unprecedented heights and balance that empower all our transgendery adventures. So today, how does your inner Artemis, Diane Ross, Wonder Woman, and the Cindy Lauper calvary open your heart and upgrade your perspective. – Talat

Day 46 PRINCIPESSA TRAINING Just Say “No” To Trying Harder We’ve all heard those motivational platitudes: Dig In. Buck Up. Work Harder. Hustle. As an active member of the business world, I hear variations of them all the time, and they all stem from a similar premise – that the harder we try, the better results we will get. But in my life and in my work, I have discovered that the opposite is true. This is probably the case because I take much of my guidance and inspiration from a very wise guru whom I have learned so much from over the past years – my cat, Principessa. As you might have guessed, “principessa” means princess in Italian, and to be sure, she is exactly that. An exceedingly fluffy white and gray Norwegian forest cat, she oozes joy, loves to cuddle, and worships you if you’ll dangle a toy bird in front of her face. She gets everything she wants from the people around her because she is just so darn lovable. You can lose yourself in her soft round eyes, as she telepathically communicates all of her needs in the moment. Feed me. Pet me. Let me out. Let me in. There is no shortage of compliant humans around her who are willing to give her everything she wants, whenever she wants it. She’s a little princess, and she knows it. I have never seen Principessa set an alarm in the morning. I have never seen her write a Todo list. I have never seen her stay up all night working on a project. And it’s not just because she is a cat. I believe that Principessa gets everything she wants and needs because she is in a perpetual mode of receptivity. Some people might want to call it instinct, but I call it being in the flow of life. A few years ago, I used to work really hard on creative projects, grinding away at them until I had no energy left for anything else. I thought that it was the only way to go after my dreams and my passions, that I had to suffer and struggle my way into success, and that maybe, just maybe, somebody would notice how hard I was working and would give me some kind of gold star. I thought that’s what success was. And it got me nowhere. All it left me was a masochistic sense of martyrdom and a load of stress. I decided there must be another way. Now, after some muchneeded perspective shifting and practice, I take a different approach to life, much like Principessa’s. The only “effort” I consistently make (if you even want to call it that) is to tune my inner dial to the same receptive mode that

Page 78: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Principessa seems to live in, that yields her everything she wants. As for the cat, so for the human. Since the time I was a child, I have never felt freer, happier, more lighthearted, and more in the flow of life than I do at this stage of my life. And as a really nice added bonus, I get everything I want. The next time you feel the temptation to dig in and try harder on something you are working on, I want you to try something a slightly different approach: walk away from whatever you are doing, and do something, anything, to get back into your natural mode of receptivity. Take a walk. Meditate. Go jump in the ocean. Distract yourself from the specifics of whatever you are doing, and then return with a refreshed, renewed perspective, and notice how much more effective you are at performing whatever it is you are doing. Do this practice for a few months time and notice yourself turning into a princess/prince who receives everything she/he wants.

Day 47 LEAVES OF GRASS: MY LOVE OF CANNABIS Some people say cannabis isn’t a real psychedelic, nothing like acid or shrooms. I say they haven’t smoked the Cheech Marin Blitzkrieg toke. Others say Mary isn’t addictive, and they’re usually the first to wake and bake on a Tuesday morning. I know from direct experience that Mary is a tricky, sexy, and amazing lover if you can dance her dance. She’s the green goddess of paradise and the anxious murky witch, the chivalrous feathered angel and the mean mommy wanting cheered and embraced. With all her challenges and moods, out of all the entheogens in the world – from DMT to MDMA, aya to shrooms – marijuana is one of my Holyest of allies, and for one single reason: I can ride her waves in almost any situation, and it’s almost always fun! With dark jungle aya, I’m thrown into demon storms of Freudian abysses and ultrabright celestial realms that’ll burn your eyes out. In those moments, I’m barely able to sit, much less workout, write tunes, or even masturbate (God forbid!). But bigwave vaping kicks up my internal sensitivity, my connection to Spirit, the elements, and guides. And with Mary, my shamanaut adventures transform into manageable magic – everything from canyon hikes to P90X weights to jumping on the skis becomes ceremonial. And best of all, working with quantum energy, I can bring in the same healing and thirdeye blasting fun of ayahausca without the accompanying gutwrenching, traumatizing terror. I have two adventures with Mary that I’m gifting myself for my 40th BDay. 1: Jump out of an airplane, feeling the full heartopening adrenaline while ehanced, and shooting guns at targets with words like “Responsibility,” “Puritan Work Ethic,” and “God” for some advanced spikeonautics anger work. Of course for the same reasons I love cannabis, you also have to be careful with her. Guideline 2: You are your own Psychonaut. Since you can easily backstroke swim or clean your house on it, she can be easy to overuse. It’s for that reason that I don’t recommend green psychonaut sessions for recovering addicts. Generally, I like to have my clear yang days, where I get stuff done with work, exercise, meetings, and activities, then every few days, I’ll have a principessa enhanced day, where I smoke, yoga it up, sunbathe, aquanaut in the hot tub, and click into my creative projects so I can decompress from the whole Matrix. I feel fortunate I’ve created a work life where that

Page 80: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

kind of flow is easily available. Psychonaut guideline 2 applies well with any cannabis use: You are your own Psychonaut. For those wanting to further their studies into medical marijuana, I recommend the documentary, “Can Cannabis Cure Cancer” (on Netflix), where they reveal how the ourbody’s mysterious endocannabinoid system (inherited from some jellyfishlike phase in evolution) is receptive to CBDs in helping improve health, immunity, and eliminate cancer. Researchers are even creating THCfree pills so children can take the medicine without listening to too much Pink Floyd.

Day 48 Guilt to Blame: Moving Up the Emotional Ladder I don’t think I made any real progress on the road to selfactualization until I made the lifegiving, soulaffirming journey from guilt to blame. That’s right. As somebody who had spent a good chunk of her life hovering around a vibration of depression, anxiety, fear, and a pervasive feeling that I was always in the wrong, this was one of the biggest steps I could take on my way to becoming the joyously empowered woman I am today. As a child, for whatever reason, I picked up the energetic baggage of feeling responsible for other people’s feelings. When somebody in my family was upset, I took it on as my duty to try to make them feel better, and when I couldn’t, I figured that something was wrong with me for not being able to help them. I can see now how I brought this pattern into my adulthood, attracting a whole entourage of needy people that I felt powerless to help. For most of my twenties, I slumped around with that heavy, soulsucking energy called guilt. Around my Saturn return, I discovered a big piece of the medicine I had been looking for; the teachings of Abraham, channeled through a petite and unassuming businesswoman, Esther Hicks. I resonated with so much of what Abraham spoke about, but one of the things that stuck with me the most was something they called the “emotional scale.” The emotional scale is a sort of visual representation of the different emotions we are experiencing in any moment through the thoughts we think, and according to Abraham, we tend to hang around certain “set points,” which become our emotional M.O. One of the things that surprised me the most was their encouragement for people who are feeling depressed, anxious, or guilty was “do whatever they could” to take a step towards anger, rage, or guilt. That was a big improvement, said Abraham, and if we could make that jump, we could move, one thought at a time, up to the ladder into our joy. Around the time that I was really starting to get this stuff, a man came into my life, who was the perfect representation of the type of energy I had been bringing in for most of my life: somebody who didn’t want to take responsibility for his own feelings and pinned it on me to take care of him. Now I can recognize how I how I attracted this, but still, I consciously took one of the most empowering steps I could have taken that helped me

Page 82: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

along my journey to where I am today. I got mad. I mean really mad. I screamed; I yelled; I let myself experience rage in a way that I never had before. And I milked it for as long as I could, determined not to fall back into my previous pattern of guilt. I took a notebook and rampaged about how much I hated this person. On a trip to Texas, I visited my friend’s ranch and we got to shoot guns and I let all of my rage out as I pulled the trigger and felt the kick back reverberate through my body. And it felt good. Really good, relative to where I was. I had moved out of my emotional prison of feeling responsible for other people’s suffering, and I took my power back. With the singular intention of turning my own suffering outward instead of inward. Of course, I didn’t stay there, and soon I had had enough of it, and I continued to move up the emotional ladder: from frustration and irritation, into indifference, and eventually gained my footing in contentment, happiness, and then joy. And now I have changed my set point enough that I have stabilized in a pervasive feeling of fun, trust, clarity, and continue to reach for better and better feeling thoughts that bring me a feeling of bliss and ecstasy. So if you have been feeling depressed, anxious, or guilty, my recommendation is to get really mad for a while. The people around you might not like it, and they might want you to go back to your former disempowerment, but if you stay there long enough, you will be called further up this emotional ladder, gradually, into your bliss.

Day 49 FORGIVING FAMILY: A QUANTUM TASK "If you think you're enlightened, go spend a week with your family." Ram Dass My shamanaut clients often think their stories of verbal, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect in childhood made them different than everyone else – isolated, maybe anxious, and somewhat asocial. But, what I see is that most people in some way feel like that, so why are we alone here? And how do we release these deep patterns of pain, trauma, terror, and betrayal, especially when it’s something as “big” as a rape or molestation experience. Well, the psychonaut path cheats the system, accelerating the process by keeping it supersimple. All we do is change our perspective. The victim story reads something like mom or dad hurt me and I place the blame of my life on them. I now have an escapegoat and excuse to continue the story of suffering in the present moment (it’s okay to embrace for a time if you’re doing real anger release). But what if for a sec, we opened our heart wings to see the love in it all. Your family have been pioneers, the whole human family actually. We’ve lived through plagues, natural disasters, world wars, threat of nuclear holocaust. If you could only see the old ancestral murk and monsters in the blood, DNA, energy lines, you may actually be impressed with how well your parents composed themselves in their vibrational system. Something I always find that surprises clients is a spot where their parents brought in more light, or freedom, or creativity to the family energy field. It may have just been playing tennis, knitting AIDs quilts, or jazzbanding it with some bros anything that picked up the FYeah! vibration. They have passed the baton to you in bringing that fun to you, your family, and the world. Sometimes families need to go on probation for a while (mine took 10 years), giving you whatever space you need to get angry, come to terms, forgive, and even cherish parents, so that you can move on and create your own New Family Legacy, the one I’m going to ask my children to pass down for generations to come, one of unstoppable, fearless, forgiving Love to resonate through the ages.…

Page 85: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 50 Bioenergetics Process Work for Family & Sexual Trauma I fully believe you could heal all trauma by simply revving at the 95% FYeah! Frequency and flying so expansive that it all vibrates off. But sometimes it’s a journey to get there. You have to rev up the various gears of the emotional scale first, and at your divine pace. Often with clients, we’ll kick off an early session, with the deep shadow plunge, so we get it out there, and can move to the next juicy wave. It can be the violent dad experience, a daterape, molestation, kidnapping. The good news is these experiences can all be released and integrated with a unique approach. First, we have clients share the story – Bioenergetics style – meaning in the present moment, as if it’s happening in real time. We want emotions, what the location looks like, who’s there, what’s happening, and then gently have them guide you through the story. We always go through the whole wave, especially the parts they want to overlook. I’m looking for the charged moment – the violent hand, penetration, etc, and how those energies feel. We gotta go there. In a way, it’s like a dark, fuckedup, spiritual movie (Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jack). I appreciate these flicks, but we will change the movie for joy, I promise. Often repressed memories will surface, longforgotten images/scenes, even past lives. There’s a powerful presence in the room, and they’ll release in tears, anger, grief, energetic revolt and revenge – whatever needs to be expressed and released. Then, we’ll have them retell the story – and this is the Bioenergetic kicker – they do it from the “perpetrator’s” perspective. This process leads into constellation type work, if you’ve done that. The client becomes a medium or channel for the perpetrator’s perspective to come in. It’s quite common for them to resist – this is the moment of breaking the pattern of separation, and of reconnecting with love, even in the most messedup of places. This will often be the time of greatest release as they take on the “monster” and see it’s not all bad, and in fact, kind of understandable (or you can at least see why they’d do something like that). I then ask the “channeled perpetrator” questions as if he/she were a client – what’s your name, how old are you, what’s your job, family situation, and most importantly, how do

Page 86: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

you feel, what’s your outlook on life, yourself, and the world you’ve created? It’s surprising how even new clients are able to move through this process and retell the entire story experience from that perspective. Usually, you’ll see the perpetrator is overwhelmed, confused, lost, angry, in pain, and suffering. Lashing out is a desperate attempt to feel good, but it never works in the long run. At this point, I have a secret weapon, I call in the blocked, parasitic, “dark,” energies to express – stuff in the gut, heart, throat, balls/yoni. It’s usually angrier, more lost than everyone else. When I ask it what it wants to do, it’ll say “destroy,” “rape,’ “kill,” “block.” As a fan of Shakespeare, I love these energies – we’ve all got an inner Macbeth that needs loved and it’s exciting to help facilitate the upgrade process. We then see the qualities of the shadow there is a part of you that does want to kill, destroy, rape, etc. But couldn’t these energies be jujitsued for fun and glory? Oh, yes! Imagine that wolfrape energy channeling into the courage to skydive, or a create a kinky pleasure date, or grow the most badass psychedelic garden you can image. Turn violence into passion, murder into a killer song, anger into a wild adventure, and lust to a sex, selfpleasure practice. As we close our trauma work, I’ll ask the guides to clean up and illuminate all energies ready to go it’s usually a fireworks of release. Then, we turn our story from “Apocalypse Now” to “Dirty Dancing.” Rather than hunting Kurtz in the murky ayahuasca jungle, we dance with our sexy shadow energies (ala swarthy Patrick Swayze), play and make love with polarity, as we get more grounded and balanced, singing I’ve had the time of our life, and I owe it all to you.” That’s our new shadow movie here, even with the worst of the worst. Let’s lighten up and just call it “Dirty Dancing.”

Day 51 WHAT WOMEN WANT: THE DRAGON SPEAKS I was at an Electric Jesus afterparty at some coolass Burner loft in Seattle when three ladies on a couch asked me to come over. “We’d like you to sit with us so we can touch you.” God bless, the West Coast! The ladies start petting me, as if I were fluffy ecstasy herself, and this woman Mary tells me a story, a story I would recall a hundred, maybe thousandtimes over. See, a dragon’s destroying the kingdom of King Arthur. The knights of the round table go on the charge, but the dragon’s too powerful. The beast does give them a path: “If you can tell me what women want, I’ll stop huffing and puffing and blowing your castles down.” Sir Gawain goes out into the forest and an old hag approaches him. She has magical powers and tells him that she will reveal what women want, but he has to marry her as part of the deal. Sir Gawain makes the sacrifice for the team, agrees to the marriage, and rushes back to the dragon, saying, “Hey, Pal! I know what women want.” “Yeah, what’s that,” the creature snickered, knowing the knight’s errand was in vain. The knight stood tall and proclaimed for himself and the world, “Sovereignty!” Upon those words, the dragon flew away never to return. But Gawain had a dilemma and she came around to schedule her wedding day. This time, she appeared as a Princess Buttercup – asyouwish hot – babe with long blond hair and a dress that knocked your medieval tights off. “You have a choice,” she said. “You can have me as a hag at night and a babe at day, or a hag in the day and a babe at night. Choose wisely.” So dear reader, what would you choose – the babe to show off around town in the day, or the babe at night for the kinkier intimate gatherings? Sir Gawain thought and thought about it, then he chose wisely. “You decide,” Gawain said, and the woman instantly turned into a babe for all happilyeverafter time. The knight had learned what women wanted – SOVEREIGNTY.

Day 52 HORMONE BALANCE: CERTIFICATION TRACK The Bioenergetic “Hormone Balance” is one of my favorite tools for releasing second chakra blocks and illuminating your radiant orange self. It’s great for treating infertility, menstrual and meopausal difficulties, sexcual trauma, thyroid issues, hormone imbalances, codependent energy chords, even repairing damage from steroid use in men. As I’ve mentioned before, if you know the basic chelation (you have that down by now, right?), then you can do all sorts of powerful modalities on top of it. I’ve uploaded the Hormone Balance document in the Psychonaut Dropbox. You simply do a chelation (5 to 15 mins), then follow the instructions. Learning to balance the ovaries (and testes) energetically will prepare you for the brain balance coming up. You could even do a super basic hormone balance where you apply the chelation and then place your hands over each ovary and listen, wait, and balance the energy ‘til they’re the same harmonious frequency. If you listen, the energy will tell you what to do. Experiment, learn, and have fun. Also, ask your client permission if you’re instructed to place your hands directly on the body. I usually just do the balance a couple inches above the area unless I’ve established real trust. Perhaps the most exciting thing that’s happened with the hormone balance is a client who visited me from New Orleans had been trying desperately to conceive for a couple of years without luck. Of course, there were some medical issues involved. But we did some hormone balancing/vibing up and in a few months, she conceived, and her son is healthy, happy, and up to trouble today. Ah, the miracles of the hormone balance. This morning, I recommend you dig into the Dropbox and check out this little gem. If you haven’t mastered the chelation yet, relax, read the instructions, watch the chelation video, then get started. It’s easy. And if there’s a healing I find truly valuable to this shutdown Puritan culture, it’s the high vibe delish orange of the hormone balance.

Page 89: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 53 THE BASSAGE Of all of the processes, modalities, and mindbodyspirit games I have experimented with over the last few years, few have been as healing, effective, and downright pleasurable as a good old fashioned butt massage, aka Bassage. Actually, I’m not sure there’s anything old fashioned about it, nor if it was ever considered a legitimate modality by anybody legitimate, but it darn well should be. I mean, who doesn’t want their butt fondled, caressed, and kneaded into a state of pure, fluffadelic ecstasy? I happened upon this rather accidentally, when I was receiving a Watsu (water Shiatsu) treatment at Harbin hot springs a few years ago. The practitioner pressed deep into some tissue right on my gluteus maximus, and a bolt of pink energy shot up through my whole system and reverberated in a feeling that I could only describe as orgasmic, and somehow totally unsexual. I couldn’t believe it. Clearly, there was a whole reserve of pleasurable sensation that I had yet to tap into, that had nothing to do with sex, but was perhaps, equally delicious. I took it upon myself to find somebody I could explore these newfound sensations with, and set off on a quest to find a practitioner versed in the art of Bassage, or at least somebody whom I could pay to fondle my ass for a few hours. It was fruitless. All of the massage therapists I asked—men and women alike—seemed puzzled, and slightly put off by my request, and would maybe poke at my rump for a moment or two before returning to a more “appropriate” full body experience (though perhaps it was my own discomfort that kept me from finding the right people who were willing to “go there”). Still, I persevered, and finally, one new year’s eve in a cabin in the Sierras, I met Talat, who was the first person since my Watsu initiation who was willing to dig into my fleshy rear. Stretched out on the floor, high on MDMA, our mutual friend Robert threw the idea into the pot and said out loud, “touch her butt, touch her butt!” Talat graciously obliged, and something very, very beautiful was born. Now we dedicate gray afternoons to indulging in this glorious pastime of rubbing each other’s butts, as other couples carve out time together for dinner and a movie or sex. And we’ve discovered certain pleasure points that, when we dig into, with knees, elbows, rocks and circular movements, with varying degrees of pressure, allow us to reach heightened states of ecstatic pleasure that get us out of our heads and back into

Page 90: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

our bodies. When your butt is the full center of somebody’s attention, it’s hard to worry about the state of the global economy, or how you’re going to ask your boss for a raise, or even something as heavy as the meaning of life. It’s just you and your butt, pulsing with waves of highvibe energy. If you are fortunate enough to be able to find somebody in your life willing to indulge you in the art of the Bassage, then I say you have found somebody truly special—a keeper. Experiment with finding those pleasure points that send ripples of Yum throughout your system, and see what cumulative effects happen when you start working it on a weekly basis. Your life might just change in a really good way.

Page 91: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 54 CHIVALRY & QUANTUM RELATIONSHIPS Do you believe in the sovereignty of all people? Do you believe you are a highvibe energy being, a cocreator and manifestor of your own Reality? Do you believe in magic, even if we just call it psychonauting, aka adventure quantum physics? If so, then we can release all baggage, attachment, and social patterns in relationships and fly freely in ourselves and with other beings of all sexy energy shapes and sizes. Often clients will come to me trying to change their partner – when he/she gets their act together, goes to therapy, hits the gym, or schedules a romantic date, then I’ll drop my walls and connect. I always remind them that that person isn’t standing in front of me. You are the one here to do the work. So, let’s upgrade your vibrations, inspired actions, and flow for sweeter manifestations and see what happens. For those who come in with a challenging longterm partner, I know the old grey energies in the relationship are already transitioning. You might find as you raise your spirit, that partner becomes the adorable, empowering ally and you fly high into the glorious monogamous horizon. Others may illuminate their marriage but decide to open things up and experiment, have some adventures. Sometimes the relationship will split and we’ll clear energetic cords to open up an even greater romantic future. That sense of freedom and a new life can be quite a relief, once we’ve moved through the passage. In an infinite universe of possibilities, you choose your own Quantum Love Game. You can be celibate, monogamous, poly, transgenderedwhatsever. Labels and old limits don’t really matter. What’s the energy feel like? And if you’re playing with others, how is the alliance? Is it open, honest, chivalrous, honorable fun, or do we still have a little dramaandtrauma energy to clear out before hitting the next wave? Exploring edges can be wonderfully healing if it’s a 95% FYeah energy for everyone involved. Your alliances and sexy energy exchanges are your choice. At the moment, I’ve been pretty celibate outside Claudy, but I flirt with every awesome woman (and man) I meet, filling my energy field with radiant sensual energy at no attachment cost. The one guideline I have for all relationships is to act with CHIVALRY. If you follow that path, your heart will open and love will flower in ways you never imagined.

Page 92: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

Day 55 DATE YOURSELF FIRST The Recipe for Happy Relationships There’s no getting around it: how you feel about yourself is pretty much how other people will feel about you. I’ve had plenty of experiences in my own life that demonstrate this, and have completely shifted old, stale relationships and attracted new, vibrant ones, by making a singular decision: to date myself first. We all know how nice it is to be loved and appreciated by other people. It’s so easy to just be yourself—the fullest, wisest, most loving version of yourself—when somebody is shining a light on the goodness inside of you. Talat is a perfect example of this. When I’m with Talat, it’s just so easy to relax and be myself, because I know that he’s got my back, and that he understands me, and that I don’t have to try with him: I just get to be. But I didn’t always have a relationship like this. I’ve had partners who thought they needed me to be a certain way in order for them to feel okay about themselves, and admittedly, I’ve had partners that I thought I needed to be a certain way in order to feel alright about myself. All of these relationships met the same, cataclysmic climax before they fizzled out and faded away, because they didn’t have the solid foundation that I believe is necessary for any healthy relationship: the willingness to love oneself first. Between my last relationship and my current relationship with Talat, I came to a lot of realizations about why those old relationships didn’t work, and got down and dirty in the lifelong project of loving myself, even when I didn’t have somebody buoying me up with their love and appreciation. It was a challenge at the beginning, and it felt awkward to look for validation elsewhere, from within, but over time, it became great fun. It gave me oodles of delight to make long lists of things I like about myself, and to come up with “date nights” for myself, or to indulge in long spa dates where nobody else had any say over how long I stayed or what particular treatment I chose to pamper myself. The greatest thing about dating yourself is that there is no bottom to the well of goodness you can drink from, because you get to choose how much love to flow your way. Although I have made some adjustments from my life of being gloriously single to happily in love with another, I have still kept the same recipe for happiness that I

Page 93: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

discovered when I was on my own. I still love the shit out of myself, I still go on date nights with myself, and I spoil myself in a way that I would never expect anybody else to, all because I realize it’s not their job. And I’ve discovered that when I don’t depend on another for my own sense of security, the people around me seem to love me more. And it’s all just sweet icing on the cake.

Day 56 EVOLUTIONARY FIRE It was a dark and boring night until Prometheus came on the scene and stole fire from the gods, an act that would mark the continuingly weird and unexpected evolution of humanity. From indigenous cultures mastering flint and stick rubbing to the caloric force of the agricultural revolution, from Tesla dawning the electric age to Manhattan Project nerds splitting the tiniest particles for mushroombig explosions, our evolution has always revolved around the gifts and trials of integrating the strange and marvelous force of fire. Today, we sit on the greatest potential of all – accessing the incredible sun power of the third chakra (solar plexus area) to transform our lives and world. The third chakra is called Manipura, which means “lustrous gem” and is the source of personal power that governs selfesteem, warrior energy, and the power of transformation. The Manipura chakra also controls metabolism and digestion. When you feel selfconfident, have a strong sense of purpose, and are selfmotivated, your third chakra is open and healthy. If your third chakra is out of balance or deficient, you can suffer from low selfesteem, have difficulty making decisions, and may experience anger or control issues (“Masochism” in Bioenergetics). Manipura’s element is fire and the color is masculine yellow, bright like the sun. For the next three to four weeks, we’ll be revving up this power center with advanced “Spikeonautic” training. From building career confidence to owning your unique sexiness, using cars as power animals to unleashing our inner beast, letting in your higherself kundalini baddass, to healing adrenals with “the need for speed.” Most importantly, we want to deepen our romantic, gratitudelicious relationship with the sun. For this section, start soaking in the positive, energizing, moodlifting photons from our mother star. To get great results, we recommend surrounding your mat, towel or blanket with crystals at highsolar noon, lying naked to illuminate and activate places where the sun doesn’t normally shine. Like any medicine, dosage is critical. Lie on your front to cheer up the spine, then back, and both sides of the body, rotating and gently tanning to reduce risks of burns. You can refrain from showering for 24 hours to let the vitamin D sink in. You might even

open the palms of your hands, the mouth, and neck to receive the sun at other magical times – the crisp orange morning rays, golden hour in the evening, drinking it in like a fine elixir. For those in more cloudy locales (Seattle, Vancouver, Vermont), you can turn disadvantages into advantages utilizing the 34 months of summer to build your solar confidence and sunny attitude adjustment, then track the glimmers of light cracking through the cloudy horizon the rest of the year. Wherever you are, and whatever you do, ditch that watercooler work break to hit the office rooftop and steal some midday lovin’, courtesy of our sun.

Day 57 ONE OF THOSE WITCHY, WOOWOO WEIRDOS Coming Out As Spiritual My life has been anything but average. Since I was a child, I was encouraged by my family into all manners of weird and wild experimentation: from acting in television commercials to musical theater, to dollhouse building, figure skating, and figure drawing—the core value that was etched into my system from a very young age was adventure, in all forms, shapes, and sizes. Life was meant to be an everevolving experiment and unfolding of new discoveries, and I relished the opportunities to explore my edge of expression. As I have taken this spirit of adventure with me into my adult life, I’ve blazed trails of personal discovery on multiple frontiers—traveling by myself to the wildweststyle towns of the Peruvian Amazon to explore the psychedelic frontiers of consciousness with indigenous shamans; embedding myself in a community of streetkidheroinjunkies to photograph their lives in and out of SRO hotel rooms; and a brief stint exploring and working in San Francisco’s underground sex scene. I’ve never shied away from my edge, and I’ve always gotten a thrill out of projects and opportunities that have pushed me into new paradigms of thinking about the world, and for this, I have my fierce, pioneering soul to thank. But as wild a pursuer of new experiences, the thing that has brought me the greatest joy, inthemoment satisfaction, and sense of purpose has been a more recent discovery – that I have, for the most part, kept in the closet about, even to the people I am closest to. The strangest thing about my life is not the crazy outthere experiences I have so actively pursued; it’s the quiet, inner relationship I have cultivated over the last few years with my inner being, or divine self. What do I mean by this? Call it whatever you will: it is the inner guidance that tells me to go this way or that; the voice that lets me know if I am barking up the wrong tree or right on target; the godforce energy that allows me, a little more each day, to create my life as I want it to be. It is, I believe, the very reason for my existence—the connection that allows me to live happily ever after, in this moment, and the next, and the next. Now, why would this be the weirdest thing about my life, when it has become so essential to the way I go about my daily existence, navigate my relationships, and find

Page 99: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

my creative workflow? Because unlike the experiences that I sought after, which anybody looking in from the outside could witness and therefore understand (to some degree, at least) these inner experiences are so very personal and therefore difficult to articulate to anybody outside of myself. As humans, we have a saying that I believe that many, if not most, people live their lives by: I’ll believe it when I see it, or rather, when I can see it and the world around me can see it, too. This is the whole premise upon which the scientific community is founded, and almost all of scientific research is conducted from the premise of studying manifested results, and then drawing conclusions. I don’t think there is anything inherently wrong with this, but in my experience it can be very limiting. I have countless examples in my life of believing or knowing something before it happens, which suggests a whole different kind of system going on, and that we actually have some say over what comes into our lives. If we can find a way to believe something or know it before it actually happens, then we have stepped out of the role of observer and into the role of creator. In other words, we have found our own power. But, as many anecdotes as I’ve gathered from my own life, when I’ve tried to describe these experiences to people around me, they seem to look at me like I am crazy, or that I am having some streak of good luck, or that maybe I just stumbled into something randomly. But I know, in the true Gnostic sense of the word, that I did that. And let’s face it: that’s just weird. That’s why I want to make a radical case for selfknowledge, not the knowledge acquired by gathering the data from the world around us (surely, that must be useful as well in helping us decide what we want to create in our lives), but the knowledge that we can step into when we cultivate and prioritize the inner relationship with our own divine selves. And as mystical, weird, and woowoo as that might sound, in reality, it’s probably the simplest and most effective decision we can ever make: to feel good. To feel worthy. To feel happy. And isn’t that what everybody wants, anyway? Being “spiritual” isn’t about following a rigid set of rules or disciplines that if we get right, then we’ll be blessed, or saved, or be deemed worthy by some god outside of ourselves. It’s about the inthemoment connection with our own source energy, which we can only measure by the amount of joy, fun, clarity, wisdom—whatever emotions feel wonderful to us—we are experiencing in this moment, right here and now. And to a planet that seems to be mostly measuring merits in terms of what can be

Page 100: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

seen—trophies, diplomas, statistics, marriage licenses, etc—that leaves us spiritual ones a pretty weird bunch.

Day 58 Bioenergetics: Masochist / Finisher According to Bioenergetics, the “Masochist/Finisher” personality type develops when independence is suppressed due to overcontrol, or even abuse by a parent (“the smother mother,” diary readers, belt beaters). The Masochist feels their acceptance depends on servility to survive. Generally, they suffer from a deficient and deflated third chakra, lacking sufficient internal power to establish solid boundaries, build confidence, and get shift done. At the core is a shame/blame spiral – they work harder and harder, and if only they try hard enough, maybe then, they’ll be loved. They tend to experience cycles of anxiety, collapse, depression, and sluggishness. Outwardly, they can be polite, but underneath lies blame and resentfulness at those who’ve “wrecked” or “ruined” their lives – parents, siblings, governments, bosses. Often they bury it down until finally they lash out in sabotaging ways – yelling at the office manager, “going postal,” even shooting up school yards. Masochists tend to have a heavyset, stocky body with slumped shoulders and collapsed heart. The neck can be thick and compacted with a face that is often childlike, round and openly innocent. I often think of the largerportioned Middle America Walmart folks. Often they’ll be in sweatpants, kind of giving up on their dreams, and not embracing their awesome sexiness. Given the vast amount of psychopathy in Western Culture, especially the United States, I’d say the majority of my clients deal with a divine combo of Schizoid/Masochism in relationship to these systems. But we psychonauts are here to power over, slip around, and light up old, sticky patterns. As the masochists power up their 3rd chakras with kundalini, strengthtraining, boundaryandconfidence building activities, anger work, and baddass alignment, they turn out to be some of the most caring, bighearted, and unabashedly determined spirits you ever met. As they focus on feeling good, being their highly creative selves, and letting their spirits fly high and free, they demonstrate a tremendous amount of energy for giving, caring, and getting things done. A number of projects – from Reality Sandwich to writing the Electric Jesus – only came to being through the persistent, focused efforts of the great

Day 59 THE HEALING POWER OF ANGER Tolstoy famously opens Anna Karenina by declaring, “Every happy family is the same but unhappy families are all different.” Over the years, I’ve noticed healers have their own expression for a unique and challenging childhood — they call it initiation. My initiation into healership happened early on. My father had been one of the casualties of the Reagan Recession and found himself taking any meager job he could get, often far away, which meant we didnt see him a lot. But with a hairtrigger temper and bipolar mood swings, my mother wasnt meant to raise three children on her own. Without any warning, a strange glaze would often slip over her oncecaring eyes as she exploded into violent rages, screaming how worthless my siblings and I were and that she wished we were never born. Being a sensitive kid, I naturally took her anger to heart. I often found myself falling into temper tantrums of my own to release the raging emotions I had absorbed. But my mother punished me for this bad behavior and I learned to trap these humiliating emotions inside of me. I came to believe that my anger was a shameful thing that needed to be scuttled off into the shadowy corners of my life. So I tucked those raw feelings into my gut, where they collected over time, building into fullblown panic attacks and depression once my teenage years hit. These internalized aggressive energies would plague my entire adult life, that is until my mentor Barry Gordon at the Connecticut Healing Institute taught me to love my anger. It all started with me sharing a story to my Bioenergetic healing classmates about how I was jumped by five teenagers in Brooklyn. After hearing the tale, Barry suggested that I express my rage. ”That perpetrator energy can stick with you if you dont let it out,” he said. But the last thing I wanted was be violent like those kids. Barry then brought out his secret weapon for cases like me – a plastic baseball bat. He asked me to beat a pillow with the bat, but I just didnt have the heart. It wasnt in my nature, I thought. So he asked the class for a volunteer. A housewife was the first to put her arm up. “Who are you angry at?” Barry asked. God, the woman was quick to answer. Barry gave her the bat and she started swinging, taking a breath with each upswing and then letting out sharp words on the exhale. Her voice grew loud and she beat those pillows with all her might. Suddenly, she wasn’t

Page 104: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

mad at God anymore, but her father and she yelled until the anger subsided and a new emotion was let loose — sorrow. She sobbed and sobbed and when it was over, she looked more alive and healthier than I'd ever seen her before. Her anger had transmuted from volatile and dangerous electricity to a soothing, empowering force. “God loves you for your anger,” Barry told the class. “It means that you care.” Inspired by my classmate’s courage, I stood up next and picked up that bat. I was also angry with God. How could this divine power let humans be so rotten to each other? Was this the best that grace could offer? At first I could’nt get into my anger. It didnt seem available. I shrugged my shoulders, setting down the bat. Barry wasn’t buying any of this. Look at me, he pointed at his eyes. Sink into your anger. Feel it. Be it. I thought of all the violence terrorizing our world until my anger with God pumped through my veins. I hit the pillow hard with the bat. Molecules of rage rose out of my nervous abdomen and shot through my arms, releasing upon impact. Primal roars shook out of my belly. I hit and hit that pillow until it wasn’t God anymore, but my own mother that I was furious with. How could she have been so cruel to her own children? How could she not love us? How could she not care? How could she think she could get away with treating us the way she did? I crashed the bat on the pillow, yelling words of profanity with each blow. All that energetic rage my mother had put into my body came bursting out of my auric field, exploding against the pillow. Suddenly the wave of anger crested and the sorrow that had been smothered underneath floated to the surface. I began to cry from the grief of growing up with a mother who didn’t know how to love her children. As I did this, a sense of calmness overcame me as I realized that my mother did, in fact, love me. She’d always done the best that she could. She had her own wounding that limited her capacity to express her love for us, just as my wounds had restricted me. When I got back home in New York, I decided to try something I rarely did I gave my mother a call. She was cheerful and practically buzzing to hear how my “Big Apple adventure”s were going. I told her briefly about the healing program I was attending, wondering what she would think. “Im so proud of you,” she told me. I’m proud of all the things youre doing. Youre such a free spirit. You always have been. I know youre following your heart. “ I could barely talk from the lump swelling in my throat. I was so thankful for her love. After the call, I realized it was my own fault for having been estranged from my family over the years. It had been more than a decade since my mother last raised her voice

Page 105: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

at me. She had done her own personal work once the kids had left the nest. It was time I did the same. I also realized that Bioenergetic therapy had been right about my own energetic defenses. According to this healing modality, many of our mental and physical illnesses are caused by not releasing the protective shields we put over us when experiencing traumatic events at a young age. For the last twentyplus years, the world had been changing around me but I was still viewing it from the frozen emotions of a small child. I had trapped myself inside my own terror. Recognizing my own anger helped me learn compassion for people with tempers. I suddenly understood that they were dealing with some strong frequencies that desperately needed transmutation. Unlike my mother, I had shut this force down inside of myself for years. Rather than releasing it in quick outbursts, my rage would seethe out in ugly bits of passive aggressiveness. But now that my relationship with anger had shifted, I could see that these fierce emotions were a beautiful part of the human story, especially if they werent repressed, or expressed in ways that hurt others.

Day 60 A RENAISSANCE SOUL KNOWS Her dreams are more real than her current reality. She can have it all. She is constantly being guided in the direction of her heart’s greatest desires. She doesn’t need to see it before she believes it. The Universe is working for her. She is a Genius to her very core. She is here to create her life with gay abandon. Her degree of mastery is measured by the level of joy she feels.

Day 61 CARS: MODERN DAY POWER ANIMALS I never really thought of cars as power animals until I met Team Psychonaut’s “Spike,” aka Chris Hodson. A reformed lawyer turned DMT shamanaut, he drove up to my previous headquarters in SF wearing slick black designer shoes, skinny black jeans, black shirt, black sunglasses accompanied by a shiny black Porsche Cayman S. Flying down the Pacific Coast Highway, Spike carved out fast turns, blazed through mazes of traffic, and hit the “nitrous” button to peal out of every stop. In this armhairstiffening journey, Chris was one with his machine, like an oldschool cowboy or Native American mastering their favorite horse. He called her Robyn. They had a groove, a special kind of flow, and they knew how to kick butt. Chris was craftily receiving massive pleasure, adrenaline, joy payoffs everytime he jumped in her cockpit. I got a chance to drive her on the backroads where I hit a bump wayfast and leaped that Porsche four feet in the air, crashing the low front board on an asphalt dip. Shit, shit, shit… Right? We investigated. No damage. Within 5 minutes, Chris was cheering and celebrating his dream girl Robyn’s big leap. To their freedom and their fault, Americans do love their cars. And like anything or anyone – a house, job, person, or belief system – what makes all the difference is your relationship to it. I like to think of cars as power animals – totems to our greatness and fab deeds in the world, especially if you’re gonna burn some fossil fuels along the way. After 15 years of general climatefriendly subway riding, I moved to California badly wanting a car, some classy number that I could pile in the camera equipment, shamanaut gear, and eventual dog and girlfriend. At the time, I needed a 4door to cover payments through a little weekend Lyft driving. I looked at the hybrids, but they were too NPR stale for my style. I looked at cheaper stuff, but was bored. The sleek and unique 4door MiniCooper, black with white bonnet stripes, immediately became the 95% FYeah! The suburban SUV for someone with taste. Quickly, the Mini got a name – Hunter – and for the first time, I had a rockin’ car, rocking tunes, rockin insurance, and a rockin’ energetic payoff everytime I drive ‘55. For me, my healing work had to offset fossil fuel input/output, and I have plans to eventually trick

her out with veggie fuel. Claudia has an adorable baby blue Fiat, Chelestina, that accelerates her inner princess every time she grabs the reigns. If you own a car, how is it your power animal? Does she/he have a name? Often they’ll be based on animals (the White Wolf), a super hero character, someone or something that inspires you. Does your beast have a standout style, features, things you love about him/her (Hunter is androgynous depending on the mood and situation). Are you enjoying the love of driving, picking up adrenaline pleasure, or grumbling and bumbling in traffic jams and road rage. What are ways you’d like to trick out your baby, your ally? Maybe there’s a new power animal along the way? Finding the perfect FYeah metal stallion, pony, or roadrunner is always a fun journey and clients are happily surprised when I spend time on something so exciting. And of course, this isn’t about cars. Maybe you have a Hog, surfboard, Schwinn Cruiser, or all the above. Your spirit animals’ alliances are your study, and ride to fun. You just may not want to lend your babies to me – as Spike knows, I like to make ‘em fly.

Day 62 Peacocking: The Ego Revisited In the spiritual community, the ego gets a pretty bad rap. Let go of your ego, and then you’ll be happy. Your ego wants to keep you small. Don’t listen to your ego and follow the wisdom of your divine self. We have generated all of these negative belief patterns about the ego, which has become the great enemy of enlightenment. But what is the ego, anyway? When I think of the way in which people use the word “ego”, it seems like so many different definitions are being evoked, and they are all used, somewhat interchangeably, to mean the “bad” part of us. I want to put a different spin on the word “ego,” and would like to define it as the part of us that is in this body, exploring the world, having adventures, and generating preferences and desires, all day, every day. Sometimes we are in sync with these desires, and other times, we feel like crap because we just can’t figure out how to get what we want. In contrast, our “divine” or “higher” selves are the part of us that stays in perfect alignment with every desire we ever have, which our ego is asking for. The perfect life, I’d like to declare, is when we are able to blend our physical point of focus, or ego, with our nonphysical point of focus, or higher self. What exactly does that mean? Well, think of it this way: if we find ourselves in a period in our lives of being financially out of whack, for example—maybe we’ve lost our job or have depleted our savings or just have too many expenses to take care of—then of course, we ask for more money, simply by virtue of the fact that we feel like we don’t have enough. Therefore, our ego decides that we want more money, and our higher self says, sure, here you go. If we can hear that, we are right on track to manifesting that new desire that the ego has set forth. But if we can’t figure out a way to sync up with our higher self, who is broadcasting a signal of where to go and what to do and who to call to bring us more money, then we start getting frustrated. Really frustrated, and we say, damn it, ego, I wish you weren’t such a bitch. But if we tune ourselves to the receptive mode consistently, we start to find that every question that we’ve ever asked, every desire that we’ve ever held, starts wafting into our experience, effortlessly. And then we get the best of both worlds—that sweet spot of having an ego, which defines our preferences, and syncing up with our higher selves, which agree with those preferences, and guide us in the direction of them, if we stop for a minute to listen.

Page 110: Psychonaut Handbook – Full

One image that comes to mind when I think of the word ego, is the peacock. That big, bold, beautiful, rockstarofabird, who never shies away from showing off his royal plumage, gets what he wants, because he is in sync with himself and his desires. I would encourage you to celebrate your unique combination of preferences, desires, and dreams, because your higher self is directing you towards everything you want, just like the peacock. And when you find a way to consistently tune into that clear signal, you’ll have your ego to thank.
