    TRANSCRIPT INTERPRETATION

The teacher greeted theclass before she starteddiscussing and had a littleconversation with herstudents as an introduction.

    The teacher discussed herlessons.

Maam Conceptionbelieves that teachersshould not approach thestudents in a strict orauthoritative way becausethese may be the root of hesitancy for them. Shetreated her students likeher own children. She alsosaid in the interviewconducted that teachersshould also approach eachstudent as much aspossible to form bettercamaraderie.

Children can do more withthe help and guidance of an adult or other personmore experienced personthan they can do bythemselves. Self-study isnot effective for young

students. They tend tolearn by spoon-feeding.What the teacher says iswhat they will inculcate intheir minds.

APPLICATION OF THEORY IN THE SCHOOL SETTING

    Synthesis:

Vygotsky's Theory of Cognitive DevelopmentBased on our observation, this theory really works, for the reason that, proposed so

as to children learns through interactions with their surrounding culture.

According to Vygotsky's theory, children can do more with the help and guidance of

an adult or other person and or more experienced person than they can do by themselves. The Zone of Proximal Development defines skills and abilities that are in the process of developing. The ZPD is the range of tasks that one cannot yet perform independently, but can accomplish with the help of a more competent individual.

Obstructions: in this case, grade three students observed are easily destructedwhich diverts their attention in listening to their teacher. So the teacher must do somethingto re-divert his students back to the lesson. In this condition, as a teacher and considered asa competitive individual that will guide the children, he/she will conduct an activity tocatch the attention of the students.

According to Vygotsky as time goes by, the adult will continually adjust the amount of support they give in response to the child's level of performance. For example, as thechild becomes more confident in her balance, her mother can go from holding both hands,to eventually holding one hand, and eventually she can stop holding her hand. The childwill soon be able to walk unassisted. Therefore, scaffolding instills the skills necessary forindependent problem solving in the future.

Ms. Conception Reyes said that assistance is the experimentation period of the adult in guiding a child. And as soon as the child can be able to walk unassisted the level of difficulties will enter. Like how will the child manage to stand up on his own in different obstacles.

Cognitive development is not only for adult-child or teacher-learner approachbecause peers do also affect in their learning development, like in developing their self confidence. Maam Conception Reyes made a concept of LEARNING BARKADA becausegroup discussions enhance individuals interests and it does have great retentionpercentage.
