The technological advances of the recent decades and the rise of disruptive technologies such as internet and mobile have given airlines an unprecedented control over their distribution channels as well as their reservation and inventory systems. To be successful however, an airline needs to ensure that their setup can provide the best use of resources while giving them the flexibility to pursue their business model.
