for developing “ANDROID Application HTDAA’12” . The

programme was organized by Dr. K. Ruba Soundar, Prof. &

Head/CSE, Mr. D. Arun Shunmugam, AP/CSE and Mr. V.

Selvakumar, AP/CSE on 15th & 16th October 2012. Dept of

CSE organized a guest lecture on “Networking and

Installation” by Star Technologies for III year students on 23rd

October 2012.

Department of Management Studies organized workshop on

“Financial Planning for young Investors” on13th Nov 2012.

Department of ECE conducted two days DRDO Sponsored

National Seminar on “Statistical and Soft Computing tech-

niques for Image Processing”, on November 1st & 2nd

2012. Dr.S.Mohammad Mansoor Roomi, Dr.S.Thiruvengadam

and Dr.D.Selvathi were the resourse persons. Department of

ECE conducted an “iROBOTRICKS” by Robosapiens

Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Noida in Association with TRYST IIT

Delhi on 12th and 13th of October, 2012. Dept. of ECE

organized a guest lecture on PSoC to the I year M.E., Applied

Electronics students. The resource person was Mr. J.Senthil

Kumar, AP/ECE, Mepco Schlenk Engg. College, Sivakasi.

A “Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist

(MCTS)” Course was inaugurated and 45 third

year Students of ECE, CSE & IT Departments

were trained during 12th to 18th Dec, 2012.

Department of Biotechnology organized one day training

program on the title “Advanced Chromatographic

Techniques” by Medox Biotech Pvt. Ltd on 19th Oct, 2012

Department of Mechanical Engg., organized one day Industrial visit

at “Kawilty Coil Products Pvt. Ltd, Madurai” for all faculty

members on 13th December, 2012.

Department of Mechanical Engg., organized a Faculty Development

Training Program sponsored by Centre for Faculty

Development, Anna University, Chennai from 03.12.12 to

10.12.12 on the topic “Design of Transmission Elements ”

Department of Civil Engg., conducted an “Indian Association of

Structural Engineers”, for all M.E Structural Engineering students

to become members in it on November 2012.

The N.S.S.Unit of PSREC organized “Dengu Awareness camp” on

Dec 8th 2012 in association with Dr.K.Senthilsekar, MBBS,

and Mr.R.Palanikumar AP/CSE organized the event.

Department of Science & Humanities conducted the Basic Science

Association meeting for First year B.E./B.Tech students on Dec 2012

conducted various competitions. The chief guest was Dr.S.Raja

Govindasamy, Director, M.T.N.College, Madurai.

N.Akshaya & C.Karthiga Priyadharshini of II CSE have participated

in University level basketball match at Jeyam Engineering College,

Dharmapuri on 04th & 05 November 2012.

60 students from III year CSE have attended 2-day Hands on

Training for developing ANDROID Application HT DAA’12 in our

college.

MMA Student Chapter conducted one day workshop on

“Presentation Skills” for MBA First Year Students on 30th Nov, 2012.

MMA Student Chapter conducted program on “Catalyst –

A Unique One Day Faculty Development Programme to Inspire

Learning” for faculties of P.S.R. & P.S.R.R Engineering College on

1st December, 2012.

CHAPTER ACTIVITIES

Mr.Vishoknarayan.R.K, Final year IT and

Ms. Parvathy.S, Final year ECE have been placed in

Cognizant Technology Solutions in the Off-Campus

interview organized by Anna University on 20th and 21st

Dec 2012.

Mr. P. Sri Karan, Final year MCA student got placed

in Sure Soft Pvt Ltd, Pondicherry on final interview held

at Pondicherry on 18th Oct, 2012.

The second spell of Placement Training programme

for Third year students on Quantitative Aptitude and

Logical Ability was organized from 11-10-2012 to

14-10-2012. AXIOM Academy had trained about 143

students.

A Three day continuous training programme had been

arranged for our final year students on Communication

and Soft skills from 01-11-2012 to 03-11-2012. Around 210

students from various departments participated.

The training was provided by Randstat, Chennai.

A Pre-Placement talk was given by Mr.Raghuraman,

senior HR of Sure Soft Pvt Ltd, Pondicherry on

19-10-2012. The on-campus interview will be held on

16-02-2013 for our final year students by Sure Soft.

Our College had signed a Memorandum of

Understanding with BSNL on 19-10-2012 which will

benefit our students for Industrial Visits, Implant Training

and their final year projects in BSNL.

For the welfare of passed out students, we had

organized an off-campus interview at our college by

MOBIUS Knowledge Services, Chennai. The interview

was held on 18-11-2012 and students from various colleges

attended the interview. 15 students of PSREC were placed.

Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist

(MCTS) a certification course of MICROSOFT was

inaugurated on 12-12-2012 for our third year students.

The first spell of training was given from 12-12-2012 to

17-12-2012 and about 45 students had participated in the

course.

PLACEMENT AND TRAINING
