ABSTRACT
India is the largest producer of technical manpower in the world. There has been a phenomenal
increase in the number of technical institutions in the past 2 decades. A decade ago, women in
India have shied away from engineering and related fields. The trend changed and there has been
a steady increase in female enrollment. Yet the enrollment ratio is not entertaining.
According to the statistics of higher education enrollment available in the Ministry of Human
Resource Development (MHRD), one can find there has been a difference of over 40% in the
enrollment percentage of boys and girls in B.Tech. and B.E programmes. The situation is not the
same in Science enrollment where the gap is very low. It is clear from the above that while
women do not shy away from enrolling into science streams, there is clear dearth of women
going into engineering and technology education.
There has not been much research studies focused on Women in Engineering Education in India.
A few Studies report of a leaky pipeline, where girls drop out of technology Education. This
paper focusses on state of the art of Women in Engineering education in India and the
methodology of conducting a study to ascertain the parameters needed for change.

ABSTRACT
ICT in Education started very late in the year 2000 only. ICT impacts our daily life with
numerous technologies ranging from a new mobile device to a mere microwave device which
requires some knowledge of ICT for enabling users to use electronic devices this century. It’s not
just ICT in school but ICT governs our life today with its main role being deployed everywhere.
In fact, its everywhere-people in offices, hospitals, military, newspaper, airlines etc use ICT in
day-to-day life. Therefore, ICT is a must subject in school curricula despite the formal learning
of reading, writing and numeracy which is being imparted to our children in any school. To
address the societal need and to keep abreast with the fast growing technology revolving around
the world, our Government has taken up many measures introducing new ICT curriculum for
juniors, revised curriculum for the existing curricula, opened many institutions offering ICT
related courses and trained human resources to partake and move forward in this 21st century
amongst the globalised world where everything happens with the click of button reaching
anywhere connecting anyplace within a fraction of a second. The future of the country lies in the
hands of youth and our youth need to know more about this technology. Therefore, I would like
to carry out the findings of whether ICT curricula has been taught in primary, secondary and
high schools in different regions of our country-collecting data from 5 schools in 3
regions(Eastern, Southern and Western) Bhutan. The results will then confirm about the
challenges of faced in different schools and thus help us address the problems. I will use
quantitative research method like questionnaires’ and survey method to derive the accurate
findings.

ABSTRACT
The Republic Mauritius is undergoing major educational reform. Educational reforms in
Mauritius are in line with Sustainable Development Goal 4 which aims at ensuring inclusive
and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. The
Government has come forward with a series of reforms in the education sector with the Nine-
Year Basic Continuous Education programme, whereby Technical and Vocational Education
and Training will play an important role, educational reform. The core of the reform is the
replacement of the Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) by the Primary School
Achievement Certificate at the end of Grade 6 since 2017 onwards; the introduction of a
National Certificate of Education as from 2020 onwards; and the setting up of Academies
which will run classes from Grades 10 to 13 and specialise in certain streams/subjects, and of
Polytechnics. The government put emphasis on changes which have taken place in the
Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, namely the upgrading of
training programmes so as to be in line with demands of the labour market, and new
equipment and teaching materials. The general objective of this project is to suggest different
innovative teaching and e learning methods that may be used effectively in the educational
reform programme to impart knowledge and skills to Mauritian students. For this project the
method will be reviewing the different literature on TVET innovative practices in education
and find the appropriate method to be applied to the TVET education system in Mauritius.

ABSTRACT
Engineering education in Kenya remains the major determinant of country’s economic
agenda. However at the moment the education system offers the industry and society
unsatisfactory knowledge and service due to mismatch between the supplied educational
talents and the ever changing world of engineering. It is imperative that the Kenyan
engineering education be designed to tackle challenges emerging in our societies and
industries by providing real tangible practice skills. Kenya lacks enough engineers,
technicians and artisans required to propel the country to an active middle economy. With
such a skills gap, Kenyan economic growth prospect faces uncertain future despite its current
huge infrastructure budget and massive ongoing projects. The vision 2030 further notes that
there exists shortfall in the supply of science, engineering and technology graduates in the
country. The skill gap is further compounded by weak linkages between the supply and
demand for skills. Therefore the maximum impact in terms of employment generation can be
achieved by developing the skills and experiences that are in line with the private sector. The
government on its part should take its share by supporting and giving direction to institutions
offering such courses. In order to produce graduates with employable skills, institutions of
engineering must aim at quality while ensuring massification of students into programmes
never happens. This paper is thus designed to show challenges facing quality of engineering
education offered in Kenya in relation to the society and industrial needs. The paper also
highlights the future demands needed on Kenyan engineering education. The write up is
expected to inspire education designers and curriculum developers in preparing programmes
that provide for the society and industry.
Key words: engineering education, industry, skills mismatch society.

ABSTRACT
For the curriculum development in engineering education, universities and colleges have
mainly focused on the job-oriented subject matters. However, when engineering students
become members of international engineering organizations, they have to interact with people
from different cultures. In order to cope with the diversity of their clients and coworkers, they
have to develop and master soft skills. Especially, intercultural competence is one of these
key skills that leads to communicate effectively and appropriately in an increasingly
interconnected global workplace. Hence, the objective of this study is to highlight the
importance of developing a course module on intercultural competence for engineering
students. It also suggests the course contents which should include the following units: 1.
Intercultural Competence; 2. Cultural Differences in Communication; 3. Intercultural
Conflict Management. Since engineering students are often busy with their course work; the
most desirable method to deliver lessons is Massive Open Online Course which allows
learners free access and unrestricted participation to the course. The universities and colleges,
which are offering Engineering courses, should pay attention to this scenario. The paper
concludes by providing suggested solutions for the major challenges that course designers
may encounter.

ABSTRACT:
Namibians, like the rest of the international community, has embraced the usage of
social media, however the level of adoption and applicability has hampered the successful
integration of social media technologies into the teaching and learning spectrum. Lecturers
within the Namibian higher education institutions are aware of social networking sites,
however the usage thereof (particularly as an instructional tool) remains on a superficial
level. The extend to which this phenomena might impact the students’ academic
performance, need to be investigated in order to raise consciousness amongst faculty
members and align our pedagogy to the needs of our present-day distance education
students.By using this as a backdrop, the purpose of this desktop study is to encourage future
empirical research on the impact of social media usage in Namibian Higher Learning
institutions, adopt best practices in the usage of social media at higher learning institutions by
consulting previous research conducted on the usage of social media as a teaching and
learning tool, as well as strengthen the local Open and Distance Learning (ODL) research
database by contributing to the research of critical focus areas that could impact on the
National ODL Policy for Namibia.

E-Mail: [email protected]
ABSTRACT:
One of the serious socio-economic problems facing Nigeria as a nation is the high rate of
unemployment either due to lack of vocational business education or the unawareness of its
importance and existence. The problem is compounded by the fact that most school leavers rely
solely on the government for employment because they have no special skills that can make
them marketable, lucrative or to be self-employed. Business studies are taken as pre-vocational
subject at the junior secondary level. It is taught as an integrated subject comprising all the
vocational business areas including book-keeping, commerce, typewriting, shorthand and office
practice which are sometimes combined and called business methods. In Umuahia for instance,
reports shows that students who sat for business studies exams in junior secondary school
certificate exams (JSSCE) was generally poor. Hence, this study is to highlight the various
strategies for the effective teaching and learning of business studies in Umuahia, Abia state
Nigeria.
The objectives of this study are to allow students to receive a higher quality of education
in their chosen profession that will better prepare them for their careers and to also help students
to concentrate on one area and specialize in it to achieve expertise. Another objective of this
subject is to bring a higher quality of knowledge to the business world that will reflect in their
contributions to their places of employment, thereby raising business standards. Students also
gain skills to be self-employed in future which will lead to reduction of unemployment in the
country.
The information in this study will be an asset to all stakeholders of education e.g.
students and teachers of business studies, education planners, curriculum designers, school
administrators and researchers in education.

ABSTRACT
Currently, the complex scenario of Mexico's educational system is reflected in various
statistics. Above all, recent studies has shown that the mere transmission of information
is not enough . It must be assessed that the physical and mental balance are fundamental for
the achievement of the competences model in the Higher Education. Mental health is
neccesary to prevent mental disorders, according to the Organization World Health,
indicated as the welfare state that allows individuals to perform their skills, coping with the
normal stress of life, working productively and fruitful, and make a significant contribution
to their communities "(WHO, 2004). In the framework of serving the community of women
who are part of the educational environment with their different roles in technical
universities, the need to promote the importance of mental health as a variable that favors
the empowerment of women will identify. The present project will attend by a short
training the academic stress, social support and mentoring according to provide mental
health. Regarding strategies, it will require comprehensive approach which includes
measures against insecurity, stigmatization and inequality. The approach of promoting
mental health in women within the educational space is a need that must be considered to
cover the educational quality required by our teaching system. By the end of the training
the participants will be able to improve certain skills that promote a mental health
environment at the organizational, divisional and individual levels, favoring the personal,
professional and academic development of women. The training will be promoted for
women who are part of UT's in teaching student and administrative areas, through different
modules that address the development of specific skills that guide empowerment in the
women's community.

For many centuries, traditional teaching in the Ethiopia known as “Abinet Education” was
serving as source of knowledge with its own curriculum, method of teaching, and own language
as a medium of instruction. However, this education system began todeclines following the
adoption of western education system. Therefore, the objective of the study is to examine impact
of globalization on traditional education (Abinet education). The research design was
phenomenological qualitative in nature and based on participant observation, semi structured
interviews and focus group discussion for 20 participants in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Purposive
sampling was used to identify teachers, students and experts purposely. With all these briefs,
thepaper addressed three questions:1, what impact does globalization has on Ge’ez language? 2,
how does Abinet education make students constructive thinker in automation era? 3.How can
Abinet education persist for long time in globalized era?As a theoretical frame work, the
transformational and constructivism theoretical perspectives were considered as theytry to
address how leading the knowledge economy is and how well students become creative thinker.
As a major finding, globalization has social, economic, moral and political impacts on Abinet
education. Therefore, systematic hybridization was recommended as a best solution for Abinet
education to meet the need of the 21st century.

ABSTRACT
The power of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) nowadays is influencing all
aspects of life. ICT has become catalysts of transforming the workplace, business, education,
entertainment, transportation, political, health services, etc. ICT in Tanzania has a transformable
significance of education, regardless of the economic conditions of the institutions, advanced
resourced institution as well as in poorly resourced ones. Therefore, this review aims to review the
power of ICTs, the potentials, limitations and key challenges of integrating with Tanzanian
education systems. The analysis attempt to respond to the following queries: (1) What is the current
situation of ICT in education in Tanzania? (2) What are the existing promises of ICT use in
education systems of Tanzania? (3) What are the limitations and fundamental challenges of ICTs
integration of the education systems of Tanzania? The review was done on different randomly
selected research report conducted in Tanzania, specifically the ICT in education from 2007 to 2018.
Studies from electronic databases and selected electronic journals were reviewed. The reviewed
studies report was randomly picked as it satisfied the need of the queries. The review revealed that
there is an effort from an international organization like UNESCO and AfDB (African Development
Bank) to finance and facilitate ICT infrastructure and equipment in the teachers’ college. The
Tanzanian national examination council nowadays uses Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) to mark a
final examination for standard seven levers. Basing on the current situation most of the study shows
that mobile game based learning was the least e-Learning technologies used despite the proliferation
of mobile telephony in Tanzania. With the upraised consciousness of the potential that ICT has
demonstrated in cultivating the quality and access to education, the government, through the
Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has recently launched e-content for preschool
students. Internet access, electricity cut off, misuse of internet resources and lack of equipment
support were the most ranked challenges hindering eLearning implementation in Tanzania. The
study concludes that the current situation of ICT in education in Tanzania regardless of all the
limitations characterizing it, ICT remains as a vehicle for transforming education systems to quality
education in alignment with constructivism, which is a contemporary paradigm of learning.

ABSTRACT
In Togo, women represent 51% of the total population. The country has taken many actions
to promote the status of women. Thus several policies, programs and actions have been
undertaken by the government for the advancement of women, especially in the area of girls'
education. The education for all policy has enabled both girls and boys to gain mass access to
primary education. However, the enrollment rate of girls is lower than that of boys and this
gap varies according to cycles and regions. In secondary education, especially in scientific
field, the proportion of girls is low. In the industrial sector, although there is an increase in
the number of girls enrolled in this sector compared to previous years, the rate of girls in this
sector still remains low compared to boys. At the level of higher education, choices often
focus on literary and economic faculties and as technicality or scientificity increases, fewer
and fewer girls are found in these departments. There is a certain self-selection in favor of
non-scientific faculties made by girls, even if their initial training destined them for a
scientific career. The analysis of gender disparities in technical, scientific and higher
education aims to identify the conditions for reducing this gap in these sectors with a low
proportion of women. More specifically, this study will show the level of gender disparities at
all levels and in all sectors of education in Togo in order to understand the causes of these
disparities and propose solutions that will take into account the best practices of certain
countries.

ABSTRACT
The Institute of Support to Technological Development, it is a public decentralized
institute, belonging to the General Direction of Training Centers for Works (DGCFT) of
the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) at the federal level and at the state level it is
sectorized to the Ministry of Innovation and Economic Development (SIDE) in the
Government of the State of Chihuahua. Through CENALTEC (High Technology
Training Center) it offers training, consulting and technological services programs,
supported by the development of high labor and technological capacities that promote
the competitive and cutting-edge development of the industrial sector, through flexible
educational services relevant to the needs of the industrial sector, aimed at companies,
educational institutions, civil associations, and the general public to the development
technical capacities of women in working age to achieve an improvement in their
quality of life. In the year 2017 19,087 students enrolled in training programs in
CENALTEC were achieved, only 15% are women, compared to the current year to
September the growth of registered women is 25%. That is why, in response to the
reduction of gender gaps, it is important through technical training to address the
existing inequalities between women and men in relation to the level of participation,
access to opportunities, rights, power and influence, remuneration and benefits, control
and use of the resources that allow them to guarantee their welfare and human
development. Through the linking department of INADET, effective inter-institutional
linking strategies will be developed, such as the promotion of training, consulting and
technological development services for women, generating collaboration agreements
with the government, educational institutions and associations civilians to promote the
development of technical skills of women in specific areas demanded by the industrial
sector to facilitate access to decent work.

ABSTRACT
Afghanistan’s technology is growing largely through its payment sector. Innovation in
banking through the introduction of mobile pay has improved the systems and lives of those
using it. In 2009, mobile pay was suggested for use on a trial basis; and as of 2016, 97
percent of the police force were registered in the system. Mobile banking — transferring
funds to a mobile account, paying with that account, and then being able to lend, pay off
loans — has cut costs in the police department by 10 percent which is a measure largely
associated with avoiding corruption. Since payments can be traced and tracked more
accurately, it makes it more difficult for someone (i.e. a corrupt officer) to take a cut. Along
with using technology to create mobile pay, Afghanistan’s technology is growing through E-
governance. This allows the cut down on paperwork and has reduced processing time from
weeks, to a maximum of 48 hours. SMEC (Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation) has
operated in Afghanistan since 1993. A permanent office was opened in Kabul in 2005,
reflecting SMEC's experience in the Transport, Water, Energy, and Education, Governance
and Government Advisory sectors in Afghanistan. Since then, SMEC has been involved in an
integrated water resource management program for the Balkh River, community flood
management improvement in the Takhar province, preparation of detailed engineering
designs for a number of road rehabilitation projects and independent administrative reform
for the Civil Service Commission. SMEC was engaged to provide engineering, design and
project management advisory services. This paper discusses about the effectiveness and
challenges of E-Governance in SMEC, Afghanistan.

ABSTRACT
Training improves institution or company productivity while an individual staff who gets trained
his/her skills are enhanced and as a result improve their position in a work place. Training
effectiveness must cause behavior change. Gender training may be seen as methodology of
consciousness rising and empowerment of women, individually or collectively, or as a way of
making project design and implementation or service delivery more gender sensitive or as a
means to effect institutional changes. Gender is the practical tool for analyzing gender
differentiation and provides adequate knowledge regarding major factors that influence and are
responsible for maintaining or change the structure of gender differentiation. Gender training is a
complex, sensitive and sophisticated field of work, conceptually, methodologically and, above
all, in its practice. Thus, the general objective of this paper is to explore the most effective
methods of training for gender related issues. In order to meet these objectives, the study used
qualitative research methods to explore the current gender training methods employed in the
Ethiopian Civil Service University. The paper emphasized to give answer for these questions i.
What methods of job training for gender issues are more applicable on enhancing employee
proficiency? ii. Does the Institute conduct on job training for its employees? iii. Does training
program effective on achieving organizational objectives? The findings showed that Ethiopian
Civil Service University is delivering training to public institutions guided by their own training
materials, the performance of most institutions is not as effective as expected.

ABSTRACT
Education in Bhutan was accessible only to the so called ' normal students' and to the visually
impaired students until 2000. Education for All from Millennium Development Goals( MDGs)
played a vital role for Bhutan to provide education to all school going age children regardless of
their disabilities. So Bhutan embraced inclusive and special education in 2009 where eight
schools across the nation were chosen to provide education to children with disabilities.
Currently, fifteen schools provide education to children with disabilities in the inclusive setting.
However, teachers faced a lot of difficulties in teaching these students as they undergo a
plethora of physical, social, environmental and emotional challenges daily. Therefore, the
objective of the research is to infuse Neuro Linguistic programming ( NLP) in schools to
manage stress and anger, enhance memory for better learning and to promote self-esteem of
both students and teacher. Therefore, it tries to answer the following three questions: 1. What is
the significance of NLP ? 2. What likely NLP tools and Patterns can be used in the
programming? 3. What are the various benefits the practitioners and clients reap with the
implementation of NLP? As a recommendation, alpha Touch Game and Peak Performance
Game are suggested.

ABSTRACT
Women, given an opportunity, contribute so much to the economy of a nation as they make a
significant contribution to the labor force.however, Kenya being an African developing country
and where for a long time male chauvinism has taken root among the inhabitants, women have
not had the courage as well as the chance to carry out different activities that would not only help
in building the economy but also to the development of the woman. Women therefore need
empowerment if this is to be achieved and one sure way of doing so would be to empower them
through entrepreneurship. Empowerment of women makes them understand their position in the
society, their status, their rights and leads to self fulfillment. Through entrepreneurship women
will be empowered from a personal level and as well as economically, as they become
financially independent. Being financially independent makes the woman more productive
economically as they do not depend on help to get project done. Women empowerment in Kenya
can be achieved through entrepreneurship. This research is based on personal study and
interactions having been born and lived in Kenya.

EMBRACING NEW MEDIA FOR POLITICAL ,SOCIAL AND

ABSTRACT:
Uganda is a country that is located in East Africa. The landlocked country is bordered
by five countries. The official name of the country is the Republic of Uganda. The country
has a population of almost 38 million, ranking it as the 35th largest country in the world in
terms of population. With an area of over 93,000 square miles, it is the 81st largest country in
the world by area. The capital city is Kampala, and it is also the largest city in Uganda. It has
a dominant-part semi-presidential republic government with a president, vice president, and
prime minister. The country’s motto is “For God and My Country,” and its currency is the
Ugandan shilling. The country’s flag has bands of red, gold, and black with a bird featured
prominently in the centre. Noted as the pearl of Africa by Winston Churchill, one of the
earliest explorers to visit the country, Uganda is a prime destination whose flourishing beauty
deserves to be seen rather than being explained. Endowed with plenty of beautiful scenery
such as the thick forests, mountains, Lakes, Rivers, waterfalls, wildlife and rolling hills, the
country is indeed a perfect get away spot for all time travellers. Its beauty has been
maintained even in the recent times. It is no wonder that the country is one of the destinations
one should look out for when planning to do an African safari. Many travellers who have
been able to make their way to this precious country have been able to give consistent
positive reviews because of the magical experience they encounter during their vacation to
this Mother Nature. I therefore entice you to visit the country in a blink of an eye.
One of the major factors affecting travellers planning a vacation to a particular country/place
is the character of people in that area. Despite the fact that the country has got a multitude of
tribes, each of them is welcoming. These people are always ready and willing to take you
through the different cultural aspects as well as interact with you about all matters concerning
their traditions. The character of people is so friendly and this explains why they smile, wave
and at times clap when they see people with a different colour.
The objective of Media Production is to impart in me more skills, knowledge and open doors
for future opportunities in the media not only in Uganda but the world at large.

ABSTRACT
Nepal is back to nature beauty, historical heritage, multilingualism, multilingual and artists. But I
will be very to identify Nepal as a Himalayan country. world’s biggest mountain Mount Everest
(8848 m) we have. According to census of Nepal 2015, 48.50% men’s population and 51.50% are
women. Man and women are as the two wheels of a cart or two sides of a coin. If one wheel is broken
the car couldn't move. Similarly men and women are equally important in the human life. In the absence
of any of them, the world can’t go forward. But women's participation in political field is very
insignificant. Patriarchal system and the traditional views hinders even the highly experienced and
educated women to reach to leadership level. There for the objective of my research is to identify the
major problems faced by women in political involvement. The research design fuscous on interview,
focus group discussion (with women leaders, male political leaders, other women’s group) and export
suggestion too. It based on those questions, 1.How many man and women leaders have been leading in
leadership level in political parties? , 2. What are the motivated factors for women to involve in
politics?, 3.What are the barrier factors for women's leadership level in political parties? All research
based on Conceptual and Theoretical Framework used the feminist, gender and conflict theoretical
framework because the research related the gender and women's right. Patriarchal system is a main
barrier for women liberation. It would be source for the policy maker and political parties improve and
change existing the policy and strategy of policy maker and political parties then help the women to
achieve the leadership level.

GIRLS’ EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY IN NIGER
Hima Kadri Minsitry of Secondary Education, Niger
E-mail : [email protected]
ABSTRACT
Girls’ Education and women’s training have always been a development issue of paramount importance in NIGER. Despite the country’s commitment to gender equality and
girls’ education, the array of legal instrument, strategies/plans and policies initiated, gender
disparities in Niger are still pervasive with regards to educational opportunities and outcomes.
In terms of gender equality, disparities grow more pronounced as students evolve in educational
and training cycles. The low representation of girls in secondary and higher education is a result
of the low school survival rate of girls at the primary level. For example ,at the primary school
education level, gross enrollment ratio is 74.4% for girls and 89.5% for boys according to data of
the Ministry of primary education. At secondary Education level, the gross enrollment ratio is
14.9% for girls and 21.7% for boys and at tertiary education level, less than 1% for girls and
3.7% for boys.
This project is designed to contribute to the implementation of national plan/strategies, mainly
the ‘’Sector Programme for Education and Training 2014-2024’’, which set out objectives of the
national strategy for girls’ Education. Through deep analysis of learning environment, pilot
capacity strengthening, awareness raising activities, and synergies between main actors in that
area, this project will specifically contribute to:
Enhance the learning environment to make it more girl-friendly and conductive to
learning;
Develop female classroom teachers’ capacity to make them role models for girls; Develop the institutional capacity of school administrators and authorities in charge of
Education to ensure implementation of strategies/plans, policies and programmes related
to gender equality;
Raise key education actors’ awareness about gender equality through information and advocacy;
Enhance girls’ school retention. Convince religious leaders to focus their sermons more on girls’ education and women
rights.

Abstract Up to the last century, teachers and their lecture notes were the only resources available for
the learning community. Some of the reference books, publications, and research manuscripts
available in the libraries in the form of hard copies, stencils, photo copies, hints, manual written
scripts, etc made the learning process more difficult. Now, in the era of Digital Transformation
all information is available in the digital formats with more detailed descriptions. These
resources can be easily accessed by anyone from any place and at any time. Hence the task of
bringing the learners to the class rooms made tedious. The responsibilities put on the shoulders
of the teaching community apart from teaching-learning process are also increasing
exponentially. If the digital resources were effectively used with the support of smart class
rooms, the teaching learning process will be a fruitful system with multiple benefits to all stake
holders. This article explains various electronic (eLearning) and mobile (mLearning) learning
gadgets and techniques available to enhance the delivery of lecture sessions more lively and
effectively.

Protection of Three Phase Induction Motor using Ardunio

Department of EEE , AAA College of Engineering and Technology,Sivakasi, India
Abstract
The electric motor is now a necessary and indispensable source of power in many industries.
Induction Motor are the most widely used motor for appliances, induction control, and
automation; hence they are roust, reliable and durable. Three phase induction motor generally
suffers from under voltage, over voltage, overheating, single phasing and phase reversal
problems. Due to this electrical fault the winding of motor get heated which lead to insulation
failure and thus reduce the life time of motor. When the three phase induction motor supply with
higher voltage than is rated then induction motor starts overheated. When supply voltage is lower
than voltage drop across the resistance is lower than specified value and motor fails to start.
When supply is only one phase, this is single phasing problem and supply voltage fall the rated
and once again motor fails to start. This fault is generated in induction motor due to variation in
induction motor parameters. When three phase induction motor runs continuously, it is necessary
to protect the motor from these anticipated faults. The protection of induction motor plays an
important role in its long life service. Mainly the induction motor needs protection from the
variation of the input supply for small motors which is in common use not only in big industry
but also in small scale industries. The small scale industries are not able to provide costly
protection to the drives in use as it will increase their capital cost. Hence a cheap and compact
design has been done for protection of induction motor against under voltage, over voltage, over
current, under current

ABSTRACT
In the Internet of Things (IoT), a simple form ofattack can deplete the energy
available to operate the sensornodes. Some of these nodes may use batteries, while others
mayharvest ambient dynamism such as photovoltaic, or electromagnetic, or vibration based
energy. We first briefly survey the types ofattacks which aim at the nodes’ energy provisioning
systems. This paper analyses the effect of such attacks on the energy lifetime of a wireless node.
Then we provide models to estimate theeffect of attacks that attempt to deplete the node’s energy
supply, both for a node that uses energy harvesting. We then examine a simple means of attack
mitigation based on dropping both attack and “good” traffic. For nodes that use dynamism
harvesting, we compute the fraction of traffic that must be released so as to offer a desired
“energy life-time” of the node. We see that the required traffic drip rate depends in a non-linear
manner onthe nominal “good traffic rate” at which the node is expected tooperate. Finally,
analyze the impact of attacks on the energylife-time of a node that operates with a replaceable
battery.

ABSTRACT:
Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are expected in improving road safety and traffic
conditions, in which security is essential. In VANETs, the authentication of the vehicular access
control is a crucial security service for both inter‐vehicle and vehicle–roadside unit
communications. Meanwhile, vehicles also have to be prevented from the misuse of the private
information and the attacks on their privacy. There is a number of research work focusing on
providing the anonymous authentication with preserved privacy in VANETs. In this paper, we
specifically provide a survey on the privacy‐preserving authentication (PPA) schemes proposed
for VANETs. We investigate and categorize the existing PPA schemes by their key
cryptographies for authentication and the mechanisms for privacy preservation. We also provide
a comparative study/summary of the advantages and disadvantages of the existing PPA schemes.
Lastly, the open issues and future objectives are identified for PPA in VANETs.

Abstract:
The data mined from social networks has been shown to have an inherent wealth of information.
However the heterogeneous nature of this data along with difficulties in predetermining its rate
and source makes collecting and aggregating it an often inefficiently run task. This paper
presents a platform which leverages some of the architecture and features of Cloud computing in
order to dynamically scale resources according to data rate, so as to collect and parse data from a
variety of social media sources in an economical manner. The nature of the platform means that
it may be applied to a variety of social network monitoring tasks, which may take advantage of
the dynamic and economical nature of Cloud-based architectures. This paper addresses a gap in
the current literature and proposes a novel Cloud Enabled Social Media Monitoring Platform for
Events Detection and Prediction. With the increasingly ubiquitous nature of Social networks and
Cloud computing, users are starting to explore new ways to interact with and exploit these
developing paradigms. Social networks are used to reflect real world relationships that allow
users to share information and form connections between one another essentially creating
dynamic Virtual Organizations. We propose leveraging the pre-established trust formed through
friend relationships within a Social network to form a dynamic "Social Cloud", enabling friends
to share resources within the context of a Social network. This paper outlines our vision of and
experiences with, creating a Social Storage Cloud, looking specifically at possible market
mechanisms that could be used to create a dynamic Cloud infrastructure in a Social network
environment.

Abstract:
Wireless ad-hoc networks are increasingly being used in the tactical battlefield, emergency
search andrescue missions, as well as civilian ad-hoc situations like conferences and
classrooms due to the ease and speed in setting up such networks. As wireless ad-hoc
networks have different characteristics from a wired network, the intrusion detection
techniques used for wired networks may no longer be sufficient and effective when adapted
directly to a wireless ad-hoc network. Existing methods of intrusion detection have to be
modified and new methods have to be defined in order for intrusion detection to work
effectively in This new network architecture. In this paper, we will first providea introduction
to wireless ad-hoc networks and thereafter an introduction to intrusion detection. We will
then present various existing intrusion detection techniques that can be adapted to wireless
ad-hoc networks and finally propose a Hybrid intrusion detection system for wireless ad-hoc
networks. In this research we are going to model an Intrusion Detection System using time
series techniques for wireless ADHOC network by which it can detect intrusion. Time series
is a technique which can analyze data. Then we will use an unsupervised learning method
clustering, to detect intrusion.

Abstract
Insulators are mostly used in electrical power transmission lines to give mechanical
support for high voltage (HV) conductors and to withstand the electrical stresses. Wet weather
condition could initiate damage of insulator due to excessive voltages in HV lines. Even at
normal working voltage, the problem of periodical handling of excessive voltages regularly
experienced by the transmission network. It is worth mentioning that any failure at any point of
transmission network can bring down the entire system to collapse. In the present study, an
attempt is made to compute the basic electrical parameters such as voltage, electric charge
distribution across the HV insulators used for high voltage transmission network. The studies are
carried out under different weather conditions. Hence a boundary based method is used for this
investigation. A comparison is made between simulated results, experimental and field data and
it is found that the computed results are quite acceptable and useful. The performance of various
types of insulators will be considered for accurate electric field distribution thereby reducing the
damage level of insulators.

Abstract
Recent technological trends have paved the way for improving and provides advanced
services for the stake holders in the agricultural sector. A fortunate shift is underway from
proprietary and tools to IoT-based, open systems that will enable more effective collaboration
between stakeholders. This approach includes the technological support of application
developers to begin specialized services that will seamlessly interoperate, thus creating a
sophisticated and customizable working environment for the end users. We propose the
implementation of an architecture that instantiates such an approach, based on set of domain
independent software application called ‘‘generic enablers’’ that have been developed in the
context of the FI-WARE project. The implementation is used to validate a number of innovative
concepts for the agricultural sector such as the notion of a services’ market place and the

ABSTRACT
In this paper presents investigates the problem of image classification with limited or no
annotations, but abundant unlabeled data. The setting exists in many tasks such as semi-
supervised image classification, image clustering, and image retrieval. Unlike previous methods,
which develop or learn sophisticated regularizes for classifiers, our method learns a new image
representation by exploiting the distribution patterns of all available data. Particularly, a rich set
of visual prototypes are sampled from all available data, and are taken as surrogate classes to
train discriminative classifiers; images are projected via the classifiers; the projected values,
similarities to the prototypes, are stacked to build the new feature vector. The training set is
noisy. Hence, in the spirit of ensemble learning we create a set of such training sets which are all
diverse, leading to diverse classifiers i.e CNN and ANN classifier. The method is dubbed
Ensemble Projection (EP). EP captures not only the characteristics of individual images, but also
the relationships among images. It is conceptually simple and computationally efficient, yet
effective and flexible. This project is implemented using Matlab simulation.

VECTOR OFDM BASED POWER LINE COMMUNICATIONS FOR
REDUCING SNR USING NON GAUSSIAN FUNCTION
M.RAJAVELMURUGAN, R. SENTHILGANESH
Department of ECE , P.S.R. Engineering College ,Sivakasi, Tamilnadu.
ABSTRACT
Most of the recent power line communication (PLC) systems and standards, both narrow-
band and broadband, are based on orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM). This
multiplexing scheme, however, suffers from the high peak to- average power ratio (PAPR),
which can considerably impact the energy efficiency, size, and cost of PLC modems as well as
cause electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues. This project investigates the performance of
vector OFDM (VOFDM), which has inherently better PAPR properties, over non-Gaussian
broadband PLC channels equipped with two nonlinear preprocessors at the receiver. In addition,
the low PAPR property of the VOFDM system is exploited to further enhance the efficiency of
the nonlinear preprocessors. The achievable gains are studied in terms of the complementary
cumulative distribution function of the PAPR, probability of noise detection error, and the
signal-to-noise ratio at the output of the nonlinear preprocessors. For comparison’s sake, the
performance of conventional OFDM systems is also presented throughout this paper. Results
reveal that the proposed system is able to provide up to 2-dB saving in the transmit power
relative to the conventional OFDM under same system conditions, which eventually also
translates into a system that is more resilient to EMC limits, reduced cost, and size of PLC
modems. It is also shown that the achievable gains become more significant as the vector block
size of the VOFDM system is increased.

Abstract
The Outcome based Education (OBE) plays a vital role in Indian Educational Institutions as
National Board of Accreditation has made it mandatory in all technical institutions for getting
program accreditation. In OBE, Course Outcome (CO) assessment is the most important thing to
assess the quality of education and teaching learning process. This paper demonstrates a method
and different tools used to analyze the process involved in the calculation and attainment of CO
for the course namely Principles of Management, which is offered to VI semester Mechanical
Engineering students. A dedicated tool is developed using Visual Basic as front end and excel as
backend for calculation of CO attainment of this course. For CO attainment, both direct and
indirect assessment are used. In this paper, a comparison is made between two academic years
(2016-17 & 2017-18) and found that there is a remarkable improvement in performance due to
the application of outcome based education. The developed tool can be used to find out the
course outcome attainment for other courses and it can also be extended by incorporating the
relevant module for the calculation of program outcome attainment.

Abstract:
Clustering techniques have been widely adopted in many real world data analysis applications,
such as customer behavior analysis, medical data Analysis, digital forensics, etc. With the
explosion of data in today’s big data era, a major trend to handle a clustering over large-scale
datasets is outsourcing it to HDFS platforms. This is because cloud computing offers not only
reliable services with performance guarantees, but also savings on in-house IT infrastructures.
However, as datasets used for clustering may contain sensitive information, e.g., patient health
information, commercial data, and behavioral data, etc, directly outsourcing them to any
Distributed servers inevitably raise privacy concerns. In this paper, we propose a practical
privacy-preserving K-means clustering scheme that can be efficiently outsourced to HDFS
servers.

Abstract
Multicasting, in general, works well if the density of group members is sparse and in low
mobility; broadcasting, in contrast, works well with a high density of group members and in high
mobility. Due to the dynamics of the network, one strategy may be preferable to the other at
different times and in different localized regions. In this paper, first list out the trade-offs
between broadcasting and multicasting and evaluate the suitability of a strategy in various
scenarios of deployment. Based on this, design a protocol that can change in response to the
dynamics of the network. The protocol is named as Fireworks. Fireworks is a hybrid two-tier
multicast/broadcast protocol. Fireworks increases the packet delivery ratio thus reducing the
number of packet losses by detecting the link breaks earlier and finds a new path and send a
message to the source.

CAT SWARM OPTIMIZATION BASED SOLID STATE FAULT CURRENT
LIMITER IN DISTRIBUTI ON SYSTEM

AB STRA CT :
This project proposes a modified bridge type flux-coupling non superc onduct ing fault current limiter {BSFC-
NSFCL) for suppressing the fault current. A f lux-coupling reactor and a bidirectional bridge switch are combined to
perform the functions of steady-state line current sharing and fau lt current suppression. The proposed system is address ing
a new and modern optimization tool such as cat swarm opt imization {CSO) algorithm. It is gener ated by observ ing
the behaviors of cats, and composed of two sub-model s, i.e., tracing mode and seeking mode, which model upon the
behaviors of cats. The modif ied CSO based BSFC NSFCL mainly utilizes the magnetic f lux cancellation effect to make the
limiter behave as a short circuit on the circuit dur ing normal operat ion. Hence, there is almost no impact on the power
system when the limiter is used. When a fault event occurs, the bridge switch turns off immediately, and then the
magnetic flux cancellat ion effect disappears. Thus, the impedance of primary coil inserts into the circuit to restrict the fault
current phenomena. Once the fault is removed, the bridge switch turns on again, and the BSFC-NSFCL recovers to the
normal operation.

Abstract:
Differential power processing (DPP) architectures employ distributed, low power
processing, sub-modules integrated converters to mitigate mismatches in photovoltaic (PV)
power systems, while introducing no insertion losses. In this project, the differential power
processing converters and voltage equalizers have been proposed and used for photo voltaic (PV)
string comprising multiple modules/substrings connected in series in order to preclude negative
influences of partial shading. This work also proposes a Grey Wolf optimization (GWO) based
global maximum power point tracking (GMPPT) technique designed for photovoltaic (PV)
systems which experience partial shading conditions (PSC). GWO algorithm imitates the
leadership hierarchy and hunting mechanism of grey wolves in nature. The single-switch voltage
equalizer using multi-stacked buck-boost converters can significantly reduce the necessary
switch count compared to that of conventional topologies, achieving simplified circuitry. A
current sensor less equalization technique (ΔV-controlled equalization) is presented.

are replaced with switched capacitor unit which in turn boosts the output voltage and produces
twice the voltage levels at the loads. The proposed topology with staircase modulation technique
has been verified using MATLABSIMULINK. The results of the proposed topologies are
experimentally obtained for steady state and the performance of the same is tested under
different resistive and inductive load disturbance conditions. The results substantiate that these
multilevel inverter topologies are better stabilized during load disturbance conditions with low
THD, a lesser number of switches, increased output voltage levels and these topologies well suit
for renewable energy applications.

Abstract
In this paper, we proposed reliable agents’ authentication based cloud service discovery. In our
proposed method the agent client requires service with specific functional and technical
requirements. For privacy concern, we provide authentication for each agent in cloud by using
Multifactor authentication process. By using authentication id agents discover the cloud service
based on service engine. In our system, we enhance the privacy of the cloud search engine by
introducing new authentication technique. The authentication process is done by the use of multi
factors such the secret key which is generated based on AES algorithm, biometric of user and the
user’s password credentials. Focused Selection Contract Net Protocol is performed to find the
relevant cloud service and it plays multiple roles in cloud service discovery. The similarity
between the agent’s request and cloud service is computed based on service specifications and
consumer service using Cloud ontology. Each legitimate agent provides reliable cloud services
for agent clients (users).Service capability Table records the list of cloud service and their
corresponding ID and services for reliable cloud discovery.

Abstract:
Errors that affect memories are a major issue in advanced electronic circuits. As
technology scales, multiple bit errors become more likely. This limits the applicability of
traditional protection techniques like Matrix code or single error correction codes that can correct
only one error. Multiple errors tend to affect adjacent bits, and therefore it is interesting to use
error correction codes that can correct adjacent errors. The issue with these codes that they
require a large area and delay that limits their use to protect flip-flops in circuits. This project
presents the implementation and evaluation of the Data Segmentation Section Code (DSSC), a
new algorithm for the detection and correction of multiple transient faults in volatile memories
with low cost implementation. .our proposed system has been coded in Verilog HDL and

MINIMIZING LATENCY FOR ENERGY BALANCED ROUTING IN
WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK
K.Priya , N.Krishnaveni
Department of CSE, P.S.R Engineering College, Sivakasi, Tamilnadu.
ABSTRACT
We present a communication and routing protocol to balance energy consumption among
wireless sensor and actuator nodes under the constraint of minimizing end to-end latency.
Minimized and nearly deterministic end-to-end latency allows centralized real time data
recording and actuator control. Moreover, defined latency improves security and safety
mechanisms to come closer to the trustworthiness of a cable while realizing the advantages of
wireless networks. Battery powered or energy harvesting wireless nodes are inevitable to avoid
power lines and therefore, we cope with limited energy budgets. In order to balance the
communication load among sufficiently supplied nodes, the energy budget is part of the routing
path metric. We show that the time domain multiple access scheme is crucial to enable defined
latency and improve energy efficiency by avoiding collisions. If the energy distribution among
the nodes is known, this novel protocol allows to calculate latency and round-trip time in
advance. An asymmetric timing scheme can limit multi-hop latency for either upstream or
downstream communication by one super frames (SF) duration. The presented rule set is able to
reconfigure the routing focused on energy constraints of involved nodes.

Abstract
The rapid development of computer technology, cloud-based services have become a hot
topic. They not only pro-vide users with convenience, but also bring many security issues, such
as data sharing and privacy issue. In this paper, we present an ac-cess control system with
privilege separation based on privacy protection (PS-ACS). In the PS-ACS scheme, we divide
users into private domain (PRD) and public domain (PUD) logically. In PRD, to achieve read
access permission and write access permission, we adopt the Key-Aggregate Encryption (KAE)
and the Improved Attribute-based Signature (IABS) respectively. In PUD, we construct new
multi-authority cipher text policy at-tribute-based encryption (CP-ABE) scheme with efficient
decryption to avoid the issues of single point of failure and complicated key distribution, and
design an efficient attribute revocation method for it. The analysis and simulation result show
that our scheme is feasible and superior to protect users’ privacy in cloud-based services.

ABSTRACT
Tribological behaviour of hybrid fiber (jute-coir)/hybrid filler(ESP/NC) reinforced
polyester composite were fabricated by compression moulding process. Due to its superior
properties like light in weight, high strength and possesses high mechanical properties.
Experiments were conducted on specimen with 5%NaoH treatment. The specimens of up to
3% weight fraction with ESP/NC as filler materials were tested to measure the variation of its
Wear strength respectively. The wear and frictional properties of the polymer reinforced
composites was studied by performing dry sliding wear test using a pin-on-disc wear tester.
Experiments generated based on the plan of Taguchi’s technique. A L9 Orthogonal array
was selected for analysis of the data. Investigation to find the influence of applied load,
sliding speed and sliding distance on wear rate, as well as the coefficient of friction during
wearing process was carried out using ANOVA and regression equations for each response
were developed. The testing was conducted by two different conditions like coated and
uncoated to know its variation in wear properties. Acrylic paint and epoxy was used for
coating material. The coating process selected in this research as dip coating. The results
show that epoxy coated composite have produced significant result on the friction coefficient
and wear rates of polyester composites, also observed that the coir/NC composition yielded
better wear property. The phase morphology of worn composites was examined by Scanning
Electron Microscope, which indicated the wear mechanism. The composite containing
1.5wt% of NC have been produced good result.

Abstract
Job shop scheduling problem (JSSP) is an NP-hard problem and one of the most
intractable combinatorial optimization problems in the manufacturing industry. An optimal
solution to JSSP optimizes machine utilization, reduces lead times, improves efficiency of
manufacturing system and reduces costs. Job Shop Scheduling Problem (JSSP) is vital one of
real application of numerous sorts of industries. Each job comprises of a chain of operations to
be processed in a predetermined sequence, on particular machines, and amid a continuous period.
In this paper, an effective hybrid algorithm based on Lion Optimization (LO) and Firefly
Optimization (FFO) is proposed for tackling the minimum makespan problem of the JSSP. The
point is to discover an allocation for every operation and to characterize the succession of
operations on each machine to minimize the makespan. In this proposed model seven benchmark
problems are utilized to discover the makespan in JSSP. From the investigational results
demonstrated that the hybrid optimization accomplishes optimal value and minimum completion
time compared to individual algorithms FF and LO.

Abstract
Group key management plays a major role in secure group communication. Two or more
users securely transfer a secret key with use of a key exchange mechanism. The framework for
secure end-to-end communication in Delay Tolerant networks varies greatly.Achieving a perfect
cryptographic key management scheme was quite challenging in Delay Tolerant Network.DTN
has the character of long interplanetary connectivity and long communication delays ,which
makes the existing group key management schemes not be effectively applied because the
existing protocol schemes are statesful scheme and they are not suitable for Delay Tolerant
Network. In this paper, we design a group key exchange protocol using Chinese remainder
theorem. Our protocol needs the server to send the congruence solution to each user and each
user will be able to calculate the group key using the broadcasted congruence solution and
symmetric key. Whenever new users join and leave the group key need to be changed to
maintain the forward and backward secrecy. Since our scheme broadcasts the message to the
users the communication overhead is reduced in our protocol. We also evaluate the performance
of proposed protocol in terms of delay.

ABSTRACT
Mobile application plays a vital role in every field.Virtual reality enables the people to be
immersed in computer simulation and 3D environment. Even the blind persons can access the
mobile application through virtual reality. Earlier, blind people use virtual reality to make a call
by dialing a number.Any mistake may lead to a wrong call. To overcome this problem we use a
technology called “HAPTIC TECHNOLOGY” that reduces the burdens of a blind person to use
mobile application.Haptic is the “science of applying tactile sensation to human interaction with
computers”. In our paper, we have discussed the basic concepts behind haptic technology and it
uses a sense of touch and force feedback mechanisms. This technology is used to have mobile
friendly way of interacting with the blind person to make the call. Haptic based mobile
application can be used by the visually or partially visually challenged person. It is most easier
way of making the call by drawing pattern. Haptic Technology is used for storage and retrieval
of data.

ABSTRACT
Signal processing techniques are an obvious choicefor real-time analysis of
electrocardiography (ECG) signals. However, classical signal processing techniques are unable to
dealwith the nonstationary nature of the ECG signal. In this context, this project presents a new
approach, i.e., discrete orthogonalstockwell transform using discrete cosine transform for
efficientrepresentation of the ECG signal in time–frequency space. Thesetime–frequency
features are further reduced in lower dimensionalspace using principal component analysis,
representing the morphologicalcharacteristics of the ECG signal. In addition, the dynamic
features (i.e., RR-interval information) are computedand concatenated to the morphological
features to constitute thefinal feature set, which is utilized to classify the ECG signals using
RBFNN based support vector machine (SVM). In order to improve the classification
performance, optimization technique isemployed for gradually tuning the learning parameters of
theSVM classifier. In this project, ECG data exhibiting 16 classes ofthe most frequently
occurring arrhythmic events are taken fromthe benchmark MIT-BIH arrhythmia database for the
validationof the proposed methodology. This project is developed using Matlab simulation.

Abstract
This paper aims to address the problem in localization of network in wireless sensors network.
Localization Is a enabling techniques in the wireless ad-hoc and sensors networks. In WSN the
deployed nodes must know about the location information of others to transfer the data packets. In
existing system there is a techniques called Improvised LAL approach has been used. There is a
problem on packet dropping between the neighbour node selection and transferring the data packets.
Similarly, the nodes in larger network that have used only a number of nodes and other nodes are
unused. To address and overcome the problem to find out the neighbour and select the neighbour
nodes to transfer the packet from source node to destination node. In this project I proposed a
technique called Adaptive position geographical routing and Greedy routing algorithm. APU enables
nodes to update their position adaptively to the node mobility they have two methods that is MP rule
(Mobility Prediction) and ODL rule (On-Demand Learning). The results confirm that APU
significantly reduces beacon overhead without having any noticeable impact on the data throughput
of the network

Abstract
Network Security & Cryptography is a concept to protect network and data transmission over
wireless network. Data Security is the main aspect of secure data transmission over unreliable
network. Network security involves the authorization of access to data in a network, which is
controlled by the network administrator. Users choose or are assigned an ID and password or
other authenticating information that allows them access to information and programs within
their authority. Network security covers a variety of computer networks, both public and private,
that are used in everyday jobs conducting transactions and communications among businesses,
government agencies and individuals. Networks can be private, such as within a company, and
others which might be open to public access. Network security is involved in organizations,
enterprises, and other types of institutions. In this paper we alsostudied cryptography along with
its principles. Cryptographic systems with ciphers are described.

ABSTRACT
Group key agreement plays a major role in secure group communication. Two or
more users securely transfer a secret key with use of a key agreement mechanism. Most of the
group key management techniques used to provide trusted message passing for group members
involved in group communication. While, at the same time it leads to a costly group key
agreement scheme. In this real world, it is not always true. For instance, in social networks such
as Face book, Skype people connect and share information with their friends. These types of
networks consist of a set of nodes which may be either individual nodes or in groups. Group key
management protocol helps to achieve a higher grade of data security in social networks, as it
easily allows the addition of users and removal of users from the already existing network. In the
existing systems, there exists a neighbour communication problem. In our proposed work, which
is a generalization of Group Diffie-Hellman Key agreement scheme for an Arbitrary Topology
the neighbour communication problem is avoided which in turn reduces the rekeying time by
using hash algorithm.

ABSTRACT
Supporting the grid and improving its reliability have recently become major requirements for
large distributed generation units. Under most grid faults , the accuracy of the traditional voltage
support schemes (VSS s ) is dramatically affected due to the existing of the zero – sequence
voltage. Also the traditional VSS s have been used only in the STATCOM applications where
the active power is zero. This project proposes an advanced VSS in the converter – interfaced
units , called Zero sequence compensated voltage support (ZVCS) , to accurately regulate the
three phase voltages of the connecting point within the pre – set safety limits. The proposed
scheme not only compensates the zero – sequence component but also considers the active
and reactive power injection. Unlike the traditional methods , the proposed VSS is adapted
even in resistive distribution systems. The contribution of this paper is , however , ternate. As the
second contribution, the limited active power oscillation (LAPO ) is proposed to be augmented
to the ZVCS.

APSTRACT
The research entitled An Analysis of Risk and Return Relationship for Selected Stocks on NSE
using Capital Asset Pricing Model with special reference to Karvy Stock Broking Ltd, Sattur,
which focuses to understand the relationship between risk and return of selected stocks from five
different sectors on NSE with the help of Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM). This empirical
paper has been done covering from 2011 to 2018 till February by analyzing the selected stocks of
NSE sectors such as IT and Pharmaceutical which are the fastest growing sectors in a country,
moreover five stocks in each sector has been taken for the analysis. Capital asset pricing model
suggests that there exists a linear relationship between stock beta and profit and Beta, in this
relationship, measures the level of systematic risk to which an asset is exposed. Probably, every
investor wants to avoid risk and maximize return but in general, if an investor wishes to earn
higher returns than the investor must appreciate that this will only be achieved by accepting a
commensurate increase in risk. From the research it is found that, for long term investors, IT
Sector, low risk gives low return and Pharmaceutical Sector high risk gives low return. For short
term Investors, Pharmaceutical Sector high risk gives high return and IT Sector low risk gives
high return.
Keywords: NSE, Return, Risk, Beta, CAPM, Standard Deviation.

Abstract
Packet classification is a process to determine the flow of packets that depends on various fields
of the packet header. Number of network services require packet classification for the provision
of quality of service, routing, access control, traffic billing, etc. All these services require router
to differentiate packets belonging to different flows. Existing techniques use longest prefix
matching method to identify the packets matches with rule in the routing table. Searching
complexity is the major limitations of the existing method. To overcome the search time
complexity, machine learning techniques, namely Multi-Layer Feed Forward (MLFF) Neural
Network and Radial Basis Function (RBF) is used. Various learning functions are analysed to
reduce the Mean Square Error (MSE) and critical error in MLFF. In this paper, the
multidimensional field is used as inputs and packets are classified based on classes labelled in
the output layer. The simulation result shows that RBF network is found as the suitable network
for classifying packets and this network achieved the overall classification accuracy of 99.86%
with minimum error rate of 4.5%.

ABSTRACT
The current worldwide trend of increasing transportation is responsible for increasing
the use of internal combustion engines. I.C engines, the devices with a high energy usage and
low efficiency because roughly 75 % of the energy produced during combustion is lost in the
exhaust and in the coolant of the engine in the form of heat. As a huge amount of energy is
lost, there is urgent need to design a advice to trap this loss. In this project work paper we
propose and implements a waste heat recovery system using a thermoelectric generator
(TEG) designed for four stroke I.C. engine. The system converts the waste heat from the
exhaust manifold into electrical energy using a TEG. The output is then boosted by a Joule
Thief converter to run the required load or to charge a battery. The experimental results
demonstrate that the proposed system recovers considerable amount of waste heat which can
be used to power some auxiliary automobile devices.

ABSTRACT
Plastics have woven their way into our daily lives and now pose a tremendous threat to the
environment. Over a 100 million tons of plastics are produced annually worldwide, and the
used products have become a common feature at overflowing bins and landfills. Though
work has been done to make futuristic biodegradable plastics, there have not been many
conclusive steps towards cleaning up the existing problem. The process of converting waste
plastic into value added fuels is explained as a viable solution for recycling of plastics. Thus
two universal problems such as problems of waste plastic and problems of fuel shortage are
being tackled simultaneously. The waste plastics are subjected to depolymerisation,
pyrolysis, catalytic cracking and fractional distillation to obtain different value added fuels
such as petrol, kerosene, and diesel, lube oil, furnace oil traction and coke.

ABSTRACT
Defecating in the open is a very ancient practice. In ancient times, there were more open spaces
and less population pressure on land. It was believed that defecating in the open causes little
harm when done in areas with low population, forests, or camping type situations. With
development and urbanization, open defecating started becoming a challenge and thereby an
important public health issue, and an issue of human dignity Open defecation perpetuates the
vicious cycle of disease and poverty and is widely regarded as an affront to personal dignity. So
peoples in villages and slum are in need of toilet which will not affect the future generation. In
village people lives in small houses hence they are not able to construction toilet in the small
space. This research is mainly avoiding the open defecation of slum and rural people. this work
deals the new modern toilet for the beneficiary of rural , slum peoples. It designed as an shelter
model, which occupies a small space like 600mm length and 600mm. It will be constructed by
using of links, rollers, square pipe and sheet metal with the help of welding process. It can be
slide easily with help of links and rollers. A normal restroom occupies the space of 1800 mm2.
All of the fixture and the user of the restroom could be occupies the room spaciously.

ABSTRACT
An introduction to CNC machine speed override and feed override controls and safety
instructions which must be adhere to while working with CNC machine feed and speed override.
Now for one reason or other you want to increase or decrease the speed or feed of the CNC
machine for some time, you definitely have a way to just alter the CNC machine program, but
there is one more suitable solution .The feed override and speed override controls are the most
suitable and handy way to control the CNC machine feed and speed through CNC control panel.
You can control the speed and feed in percentage. When the feed override is 100% the feed
which is programmed will be active. But if the feed override is 50% then the feed will decrease
by that ratio, now the machine tools will run with 50% of feed. So if you have programmed 0.5
mm/rev feed then with 100% the 0.5 will be active, but for 50% feed override the tool feed will
be 0.25 mm/rev. normally you can control speed override and feed override from 0% to 120%.
At 0% speed override the spindle will stop rotating, and at 0% feed override the tool will stop
working (the tool will be stationary). No doubt 120% feed override and speed override is just
safe. But some CNC machines give even more flexibility.

ABSTRACT
Opening and closing of door have been always a boring job, especially in places where a person
is always required to open the door such as hotels, shopping malls and theatres. Then the solution
for this is that automation. Automation is a technology that is concerned with the use of
mechanical, electronic and computer based system in the operation and control of appliances.
Therefore, AUTOMATIC DOOR CONTROLLER reduces the manual work of human by
opening and closing the door and it also consumes less energy when compared other home
appliances. In this project the swing type door is controlled, as most of the houses, hospital, old-
age homes are comprised of swing type doors. Here a low cost door controller is designed using
ultrasonic sensor, arduino uno, dc motor, gear arrangement, and metallic arms. The door is
opened by either pull or push action. In this both the electronic and mechanical systems are
combined to do the required task. It can also operate in the absence of power supply as the
batteries can be employed. This system can be easily modified and provide a better convenience
to the user.

ABSTRACT
Grains are developed in little scale by ranchers in creating nations like India. Grain is
sold by ranchers without deseeding. The normal bit cost is around double the cost of the cob.
Subsequently, more wage can be created by agriculturists if corns are decorticated and bits are
sold without anyone else's input in the market. However, this requires a modest, physically
worked and proficient grain deseeding. Absence of grain preparing machines i.e. grain
deseeding, is a noteworthy issue of grain creation, particularly in our nation. An investigation
outlined, created, and execution of grain deseeding comprises of feed by physically with control
stream rate, sifting unit, isolating unit, and Pedal worked framework. The execution of the
machine was assessed as far as limit, deseeding effectiveness, material productivity and
mechanical harm. Entertainment models that could be utilized to express the relationship existing
between the deseeding execution files, dampness substance and feed rate were set up.

ABSTRACT
Nowadays the custom order as well as small-series production demands adaptable
machines. Here, the computer numerically control machine tools (CNC machine tools) have
assumed the principal role. Today the technology of CNC control is characterized by accessible
prices and is technologically so ripe that even individuals can design and construct CNC
controlled machines. Of course, such homemade machines are not intended for series production,
precise machining, machining of technologically demanding materials or pieces of great
dimensions. We have used INKSCAPE Software in this project. Inkscape is a cross-platform
open source Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) drawing tool with capabilities similar to
Illustrator,Coral draw, Visio, etc. Supported SVG features include basic shapes, paths, text, alpha
blending, transforms, gradients, node editing, svg-to-png export, grouping, and more. Inkscape's
main motivation is to provide the Open Source community with a fully XML, SVG, and
compliant SVG drawing tool. Additional planned work includes conversion of the codebase from
an extension mechanism, and establishment of a friendly, open, community-oriented
development processes. In this software convert image to coding and also 2D drawing to coding.
We have used CAMOTICS software for simulation process in this project. With CAMotics, you
can simulate 3-axis Gcode programs for CNCs and visualize the results in 3D. CAMotics runs on
Linux, OS-X or Windows. It's fast, easy to use and best of all Open-Source and free. With the
power to simulate your CNC tool paths you will avoid dangerous and expensive mistakes.
CAMotics will save you time and money and open up a world of creative possibilities by
allowing you to rapidly visualize and improve upon designs without wasting materials or
breaking tools.

Abstract
The SVM-based Sequential classifier Training (SCT-SVM) approach is proposed for
multitemporal remote sensing image classification. The approach leverages the classifiers of previous images to reduce the required number of training samples for the classifier training of
an incoming image. For each incoming image, a rough classifier is firstly predicted based on the temporal trend of a set of previous classifiers. The predicted classifier is then fine-tuned into a
more accurate position with current training samples. This approach can be applied progressively
to sequential image data, with only a small number of training samples being required from each
image. Experiments were conducted with Sentinel-2A multitemporal data. Results showed that
the proposed SCT-SVM achieved better classification accuracies compared with two state-of-
the-art model transfer algorithms. These results demonstrate that the leverage of a priori
information from previous images can provide advantageous assistance for later images in
multitemporal image classification.

Abstract
Process Improvement is the proactive task of identifying, analyzing and improving upon existing
business processes within an organization for optimization and to meet new quotas or standards
of quality. It often involves a systematic approach which follows a specific methodology but
there are different approaches to be considered. Some examples are benchmarking or lean
manufacturing, each of which focuses on different areas of improvement and uses different
methods to achieve the best results. Processes can either be modified or complemented with sub-
processes or even eliminated for the ultimate goal of improvement. Process Improvement is an
ongoing practice and should always be followed up with the analysis of tangible areas of
improvement. When implemented successfully, the results can be measured in the enhancement
of product quality, customer satisfaction, customer loyalty, increased productivity, development
of the skills of employees, efficiency and increased profit resulting in higher and faster return on
investment (ROI). A variety of methodologies are available for process improvement. There we
are discussed about Six Sigma, Lean Management, Lean Six Sigma, and Agile Management, Re-

ABSTRACT
The economic development of a country is closely related to its road transport
infrastructure facilities available. The periodic maintenance of the road is limited due to cost
consideration which will disrupt the service and affect the function of the road. Because of
heavy rain swelling can take place so that compression and contraction takes place and due to
that undulation can take place. To overcome the constraints, geotextiles shall be used in
pavements to extend the service life of the pavement which requires less repair and
maintenance. By using geotextiles bearing capacity of the soil increases. The present study
involving the performance of non woven geotextiles, interfaced between sub grade and base
course in the rigid pavement system, is carried out experimentally, utilizing the California
Bearing Ratio ( CBR) testing arrangement. In order to evaluate the performance of the
reinforcement the CBR load- penetration graphs were drawn. The tensile strength of
geotextiles and the soil geotextiles interaction are the major factors that influence the
improvement of the soil. The geotextile is generally used in conjunction with locally
available aggregate, such as crushed stone to develop a structural supporting layer. The most
common uses of geotextile are in road construction and soil stabilization.

ABSTRACT:
Foam concrete is defined as a light cellular concrete which can be classified as a lightweight
concrete having density varies from 400–1800 kg/m3 with random air-voids created from the
mixture of foaming agents in mortar. Foam concrete is recognized for its high Flow ability, low
cement content, low aggregate usage, and excellent thermal insulation. Furthermore, the foam
concrete is considered as an economical solution in fabrication of large scale lightweight
construction materials but due to its low compressive strength it cannot be used as structural
members. This review study mainly tends to evaluate the physical properties of materials used for
foam concrete i.e cement, fly ash, MSP, GGBS. This study reveals that physical properties of all the
above materials are within the limit.

ABSTRACT
Images are often corrupted by noise, Removing noise from the original image is still a
challenging job for researchers, For visual quality as well as for satisfactory extraction of
important features from the images, Despeckling of the images is necessary. There have been
several numbers of published algorithms and each target to remove noise from original image. A
recent development in this area of research is the use of multiresolution principles. In this paper,
multiresolution HOSVD is proposed as a new method for denoising of images based on a patch
based technique simply group similar patches together from a noisy images and transforms are
applied for those images. Here the results based on various types of noise, such as Gaussian,
Poisson’s and Speckle performed in this paper. PSNR and MSE values are used to evaluate the
performance of the transforms. The same method is extended to handle such varied noise models
and evaluate the performance of the same.

ABSTRACT
Sorting of products is a very difficult industrial process. Continuous manual
sorting creates consistency issues. This project describes the sorting of objects
based on color by arduino TCS3200 sensor. This sensor was used to detect the
color of the product and Arduino board was used to control the overall process.
The identification of color is based on frequently analysis of output of TCS3200
sensor. Two servo motor were used. The first motor is for placing the product to be
analyzed by the color sensor, and the second is for moving the arm to the
container, to separate the products.
There is a wide usage of many products in our day to day life, and
manufacturing of this products are done in many largescale and small scale
industries. Arranging makes qualityconsistency issue. Nowadays the main
difficulty that is faced after the production is of sorting Arranging of items in an
industry is a dull modern process, which is by and large donephysically. Consistent
manual the need of this type of machine in the industries will help in sorting the
machine according to their weight, size, color, shape, etc. This papergives a brief
information about the sorting of objects according to their color using TCS3200

ABSTRACT
Bag-of-words (BOW) is now the most popular way to model text in statistical machine learning
approaches in sentiment analysis. However, the performance of BOW sometimes remains
limited due to some fundamental deficiencies in handling the polarity shift problem. We propose
a model called dual sentiment analysis (DSA), to address this problem for sentiment
classification. We first propose a novel data expansion technique by creating a sentiment-
reversed review for each training and test review. On this basis, we propose a dual training
algorithm to make use of original and reversed training reviews in pairs for learning a sentiment
classifier, and a dual prediction algorithm to classify the test reviews by considering two sides of
one review.

Abstract
Data mining is usually defined as searching, analyzing and sifting through large amounts of data
to find relationships, patterns, or any significant statistical correlation. Data mining is the
technique for discovering interesting patterns from large scale data. Clustering is an
unsupervised learning of hidden data concept i.e. it divides data into clusters of similar objects;
each cluster consists of objects that are similar between themselves and dissimilar to objects of
other groups. The medical data has huge volume with high complexity, physician’s
interpretation, poor mathematical computation. Many tests could complicate the main diagnosis
process and lead to the difficulty in obtaining the end results, particularly in the case where many
tests are performed. This kind of difficulty could be resolved with the aid of data mining
techniques. In order to overcomes these issues, the data mining techniques to identify best
clustering methods in proposed. In this work we proposed different clustering techniques to
compute and analysis the performance metrics on huge medical data sets.

ABSTRACT
Character recognition is one of the most attention holding and extremely interesting areas
of pattern recognition and artificial intelligence. Offline handwritten English character recognition
is difficult due to variation in shape, slope and size of individual characters. Such variations in
handwriting can be handled by better pre-processing and feature extraction techniques.
Handwritten character recognition is more difficult process as compared to typed or printed
characters. Neural networks are used in character recognition from last many years. The proposed
system has been implemented using MATLAB successfully. In this paper, we present a
handwritten character recognition system in which first of all original image is converted into grey
scale image. After that pre-processing steps are applied on that grey scale image. Then individual
characters split from word using segmentation. Features are extracted for that character is used for
classification. At last handwritten character is recognized and converted into machine printable
form, which will be easier to store and use in future. The result shows that the back propagation
network provides good recognition accuracy of more than 97% of handwritten English characters
and Numeric.
The purpose of this project is to take handwritten English characters and Number as input,
process the character, train the neural network algorithm, to recognize the pattern and modify the
character to a beautified version of the input. This project is aimed at developing software which
will be helpful in recognizing characters of English language and numeric.

ABSTRACT
Aluminum sandwich panels with honeycomb core have been widely used as energy absorption
structure in lightweight design. In this study, to investigate the effects of core thickness on the
velocity properties on CFRP/AA honeycomb sandwich panel. The energy-absorbing
characteristics of a lightweight honeycomb core containing embedded carbon fiber reinforced
polymer (CFRP). The specimens with four characteristic geometric variables namely, face sheet
thickness, core height, honeycomb core thickness and side length of hexagon cell were tested
experimentally. Aluminum sandwich panels with honeycomb core have been widely used as
energy absorption structure in lightweight design. This space debris poses a threat to satellite
structure because of their high velocity. It can easily damage the internal structure of satellite hence
now-a-days Honeycomb Structure have been widely used in aerospace structures due to their high
strength, lightweight and good energy absorbing capacity as well as it protects the internal parts
of satellite from hypervelocity impact of space debris. A variation in core height of aluminium
honeycomb core does not show any significant change in energy absorbing capacity of the
sandwich panels. It is observed that an increase in core height increases the time taken to reach
peak energy which is desirable for many applications like automobile bumper. Quasi-static test
and impact test were co-related using impact factor in the linear elastic region.

ABSTRACT
This paper describes the fault analysis of Digital Proportional Integral Controller (DPIC) and Hysteresis
Current Controller (HCC) for Brushless DC Motor (BLDCM) drive with the help of the Modified Wavelet
Transform (MWT). An electronic circuit can detect the open and the short circuit faults only whereas the
MWT is having capability to classify the additional faults of the BLDC system. This method analyses
inter-turn short detection, open circuit fault, short circuit fault, phase- to- phase fault, and voltage sag and
swell variations for BLDCM drive. The MWT detects the faults more accurately and the identified faults
are rectified by using this designed method. An adequate MATLAB/Simulink results are presented for
different fault conditions. The experimental results on a laboratory setup help to validate the results.

ABSTRACT
The proposed control strategy compared to the conventional control strategy using the
proportional integral controller, the proposed ANFIS provides higher system gain at the
fundamental and harmonic frequencies of the grid without using high proportional gain in
operation modes. Then it enhances tracking speed and disturbance rejection performance
satisfying the desired stability. Moreover, by applying the hybrid nominal duty ratio yielded
from the proposed operation mode selection, the disturbance rejection is achieved more
effectively, and the control burden is reduced. Finally, the simulation and experiment results
were shown to verifying the tracking speed and disturbance rejection performance of the
proposed control strategy.

ABSTRACT
Today, many modern applications call for novel forms of queries that aim to find objects
satisfying both a spatial predicate, and a predicate on their associated texts. For example,
instead of considering all the restaurants, a nearest neighbour query would instead ask for the
restaurant that is the closest among those whose menus contain “steak, spaghetti, brandy” all
at the same time. Currently the best solution to such queries is based on the
InformationRetrieval2-tree, which, has a few deficiencies that seriously impact its efficiency.
Motivated by this, there is a development of a new access method called the spatial inverted
index that extends the conventional inverted index to cope with multidimensional data, and
comes with algorithms that can answer nearest neighbour queries with keywords in real time.
As verified by experiments, the proposed techniques outperform the InformationRetrieval2-
tree in query response time significantly, often by a factor of orders of magnitude. Existing
works mainly focus on finding top-k Nearest Neighbours, where each node has to match the
whole querying keywords. It does not consider the density of data objects in the spatial space.
Also these methods are low efficient for incremental query. In proposed system, A spatial
database manages multidimensional objects (such as points, rectangles, etc.), and provides
fast access to those objects based on different selection criteria. The importance of spatial
databases is reflected by the convenience of modeling entities of reality in a geometric
manner. For example, locations of restaurants, hotels, hospitals and so on are often
represented as points in a map, while larger extents such as parks, lakes, and landscapes often
as a combination of rectangles.

ABSTRACT
In this present scenario, lot of power generation methods have been developed. In order to reduce the
shortage in electrical supply, many power plants have been developed. But by running power plants
there are lots of other factors are to be considered, besides generating power. Construction of power
plants requires large area. The initial capital costs are high to set and develop power plants.
Requirement of raw materials to run the power plants such as coal to power Thermal power plants
and Uranium to power Nuclear power plants are decreasing and also by using them causes more
pollution, global warming, etc. Also health hazards caused due to the effects of things in the power
plants. Hence by keeping these factors in mind, the Reverse Hydro Power Generator is made. This
device uses water to generate electricity via turbines or MHD. This requires initial power supply to
create pressure difference between the system to create continuous flow of water. So, as a whole this
Reverse Hydro Power Generator comes under the sustainable power development and requires less
space and costs less compared to other power plants. It is easy to set and also easy to run and maintain.

ABSTRACT
Metal matrix composites (MMCs) possess significantly improved properties including
high specific strength; specific modulus, damping capacity and good wear resistance compared
to unreinforced alloys. There has been an increasing interest in composites containing low
density and low cost reinforcements. Among various discontinuous dispersoids used, fly ash is
one of the most inexpensive and low density reinforcement available in large quantities as solid
waste by-product during combustion of coal in thermal power plants. Hence, composites with fly
ash reinforcement are likely to overcome the cost barrier for wide spread applications in
automotive and small engine applications. It is therefore expected that the incorporation of fly
ash particles in aluminium alloy will promote yet another use of this low-cost waste by-product
and, at the same time, has the potential for conserving energy intensive aluminium and thereby,
reducing the cost of aluminium products. Now a days the particulate reinforced aluminium
matrix composite are gaining importance because of their low cost with advantages like isotropic
properties and the possibility of secondary processing facilitating fabrication of secondary
components. The present investigation has been focused on the utilization of abundantly
available industrial waste fly-ash in useful manner by dispersing it into aluminium to produce
composites by stir casting method.

under the axle if the vehicles, now a day’s many self driving persons are increased. It is very
challenging that to lift the vehicle without effort for replacing of tyre (In case of puncture &
damage). To overcome this problem and to make simple we have introduced a new concept as
rack and pinion mechanism in screw jack set up which was run by automatically with the help of
limit switches and dc forward & reverse switch. By using this mechanism we reduce the time of
replacing tyre when it attain puncture. It does not require skilled person to operate. Its main aim
to make simple to handicap person, lady person and aged person to lift the vehicle without effort.

ABSTRACT
Electrical discharge machining (EDM) is the most extensively used non-conventional material
removal process to machines hardened material removal process to machining hardened tool steel.
EDM carried out by means of electrical sparks that jump between electrode and work piece
subjected to a voltage and submerged in a dielectical fluid. Since there is no direct contact between
the electrode and the work piece, EDM eliminates the mechanical stress, chatter and vibration
arising during the machining. EDM is widely used to manufacture mould, die and automotive,
aerospace and surgical components EDM electrode have the mirror images of the desired products,
surface finish, dimensional accuracy, geometry of electrodes and material properties are among
the parameters affecting the machining performance. This thus led to manufacture of several

ABSTRACT
The solar drying system utilizes solar energy to heat up air and to dry any food substance loaded,
which is not only beneficial in that it reduces wastage of agricultural produce and helps in
preservation of agricultural produce. Based on the limitations of the natural sun drying such as
exposure to direct sunlight, liability to pests and rodents lack of proper monitoring, and the
escalated cost of the mechanical dryers, a solar dryer was therefore developed to cater for this
limitations. In many countries, agricultural products are dried under open the sun. However, this
way of drying degrades the quality of the dried products due to interference from external
impurities and uneven drying rates. This abstract is focused on the natural convection direct type
double slope solar dryer. These are the most effective type of solar dryers and are easy to fabricate
and use. It protects the products from external contamination. It have a black absorbing surface
which collects the light and converts it to heat. This dryer may have double slope glass cover and
vents to in order to increase the efficiency. It have a polystyrene (Thermocol) to reduce the heat
loss from the basin of the solar dryer. Because, polystyrene have a good insulation property.

ABSTRACT
Dhal extraction was first done manually by former. It was practiced in mainly Tamil Nadu
by doing manually. By using manual method, the dust particles has from the dhal will get dispered
of the air causing some disturbances in the surroundings. Another important difficulties faced by
the former are the manual method is applicable only if there is presence of air in the surrounding.
It consumes more time and human effort to do them. Many new methods had been invented but it
is economically high. This project is to reduce the time and human effort it suit the former
economy.

Abstract
This article presents an experimental study of the heat transfer charecteristics and the
pressure drop of the circular tube fitted with multiple short length taper twisted tape in convergent
(C) and divergent (D) mode with the pitch ratios (PR) of 3, 4 and 5 and full length twisted tape of
two different pitch length such as 10 cm and 14 cm. Tapered twisted tapes have a larger effect on
the enhancement of heat transfer with the lower pressure drop compared to the short length
uniform width twisted tape. On the basis of constant pumping power and constant heat duty short
length taper twisted tapes (D) are perform better than full length twisted tape. Based on the
experimental data, correlations are developed by using the statistical analysis and the arrived
results are within the acceptable limit ( %15 ).

ABSTRACT
Social Media (SM) is a group of Internet-based applications that improved on the concept and
technology of Web 2.0, and enable the formation and exchange of User Generated Content. SM
sites can also be referred to as web-based services that allow individuals to create a public/semi-
public profile within a domain such that they can communicatively connect with a list of other
users within the network . SM is an important source of learning of opinions, sentiments,
subjectivity, assessments, approaches, evaluation, influences, observations, feelings, borne out in
text, reviews, blogs, discussions, news, remarks, reactions, or some other documents. Social
Media in the last decade has gained remarkable attention. This is attributed to the affordability of
accessing social network sites such as Twitter, Google+, Facebook and other social network sites
through the internet and the web 2.0 technologies. Many people are becoming interested in and
relying on the SM for information and opinion of other users on diverse subject matters. It is
important to translate sentiment expressed by SM users to useful information using data mining
techniques. This underscores the importance of data mining techniques on SM. Data mining
techniques are capable of handling the three dominant research issues with SM data which are
size, noise and dynamism. This paper reviews data mining techniques currently in use on
analysing SM and looked at other data mining techniques that can be considered in the field.
