A new homeowner and resident has arrived to settle into his new role in the field of health care. MEET DAN PERRYMAN! It’s all about the patient, the patient, the patient! It’s NOT all about the the business aspect of health care, as Dan Perryman sees it. Dan prefers to focus on serving the needs of the community by putting the people first. The patient, the family, the ministry; all three share the spotlight at St. Mary’s. Inspired by the HSHS, or Hospital Sisters of St. Francis Healthcare Systems, Perryman likes knowing that the visibility and the vision of a faith-based health care system lights the way at St. Mary’s. He explains, “Christ’s healing love needs to be the center of everything you do, your work, your play, and your life in general.” As he focuses on the business side of being the CEO, he says, “I will keep our mission at the forefront of my mind.” Growing up in Clinton, Iowa, Perryman says he also grew up with an Archer Daniels Midland plant in the neighborhood. His roots run deep both in the Midwest and in health care. Prior to his appointment at St. Mary’s, he spent eight years in Litchfield, IL, at St. Francis Hospital, another HSHS hospital. For the past 20 years, he has worked in hospital administration and brings a vast array of experience and insight to his work in Decatur. He searches for the best for Decatur; the best physicians, specialists, and leadership. Be sure to attend the January Luncheon on Jan. 8th, and learn MORE about Dan and the new look of St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
