The Library Catalogue
• The Library Catalogue lists all the material (books, journals etc.) held in all the Middlesex University libraries
• You may use any campus library, or via the library catalogue, you may request books from another campus to be sent here for you to collect

E-books• E-books can be found using the library
catalogue, just like a print book.
• You will see the words ‘[electronic resource]’ after the title.
• Click on the blue ‘web access’ link to download or read the book online – make sure you have logged into myUniHub!

Journal Access• The Library Catalogue tells you which journals are
available to you, either in print or online
• If available in print, the catalogue will tell you where the journal is located in the library
• If available online, there will be a blue ‘web access’ link to the available online issues of the journal

Use these Databases to find out journal & other information on your topic:
• Barbour – full text reports & other documents on legislation, regulations and standards
• British Standards: selected full-text British, European and international standards
• Business Source Complete - full text peer reviewed (scholarly) and business journals .
• Science Direct - full text Elsevier journals
• Science Citation Index - not full-text
• Social Science Citation Index – not full-text
How do I use online journals and databases?• Most online journals and databases require
you to be a member of a subscribing institution
• If you log into uniHub before accessing the library’s electronic resources, you will be able to access the available e-books and online journals
• You will have access to the e-resources from home provided you have internet access

• From Library & IT pages, follow link to Inter-Library Loans
• Login using Unihub username and password• Complete form and submit• You will receive a PDF version of the journal
article which you may save and keep• £3 charge

• SCONUL Access Scheme provides access to other academic libraries
• For more information on the scheme visit the website

• You must reference your work properly with full details of all resources used, e.g. books, journal articles, websites
