DISCUSSION

As there is no univ€rcally acc€prei systcm of classificarion ofMantodea (Roy 198?). In this work the schenc of classitication followed isthat ofBeier(1964,1968). A tor.al of2l species were @lleded, ofthese four

belong to family Ereniaphilida€, rwo 10 Empusidae (one each in Enpus;nae

and Blepharodinae) and fifteen ro MaJridae (one of sub-family Rivetinae,

on€ ofvarinae, three ofPhoroininae and sev€n ofMantinae).

Th€ family Eremiaphilidae is reprcsDred by four sp€cies, namely

Ercniaphilia arubi@, beniaphilia laditon , Hmbetie a indica ndTheoponpula sihdhica n.sp. Wood-Mason (lSS9) reported the species of Eaabica ftom nonhwest part of Sindh, bur Ciglo-Tos (1927) was of the

opinion ftat this sp€cies does nor oc.ur in Sindh. The pres€nr findingconfimed that E. arabica occurs in Sindh. t /"er,y'oa, is rccorded for th€

Theoponpula sindhica is described as new sp€cies. Ir is probably th€

smallest known speci€s in tle world. trs size approaches to rtg si2g of Botbe
