PROYECTO ETWINNING “Merry Us @ Christmas Fuss’’(sharing traditions, customs,

experiences) con la colaboración de las compañeras de Polonia.

Yconlaparticipacióndelalumnadode2ºG,3ºFy3ºG ‘Merry Us @ Christmas Fuss’ is definitely unique project which brought together teachers and students from Poland, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine. We started working on the project in October 2019 and finished in June 2020.

'Merry Us @ Christmas Fuss' is our way to show Christmas traditions in a fun and friendly way. We also wanted to do some new things - like writing Christmas lyrics. Another important thing for us was to learn. We wanted to meet new people from all over the world, talk with them (improve English), exchange experiences … 'Stay positive and open-minded' – it was our idea of a perfect cooperation and we wanted to do that with everyone who joined our project.

While working on ‘Merry Us @ Christmas Fuss’ we took part in many activities. We went for a trip to Santa’s Factory in Kętrzyn (Poland); we created Christmas cards and exchanged them with our partners in Spain, Portugal, Ukraine, Turkey … We had so much fun while creating new lyrics for Christmas song ‘Let It Snow’. Moreover, in Gran Canaria (Spain) we went sightseeing by the tourist bus to visit the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria at Christmas to take pictures of the decoration. The final stop was the nativity scene made of sand which is the most important icon of this city at that time. As we know, there was a big fire in the higher parts of the island, so this special nativity honours it. Also, the students built a model of this nativity scene in the highschool's hall. We were really excited reading posts and looking through the pictures from our new friends from Europe. It was a great pleasure to take part in photography workshop and get the knowledge about taking good pictures.

We want to thank ALL NEW FRIENDS for enjoying Christmas traditions with us. It was a great pleasure to meet you here online. We hope to see some of you in real life - as soon as this difficult situation in the world will be over. We really enjoyed working together. It was fun to make gingerbread cookies and "truchas" in Gran Canaria, to create Christmas cards and to receive cards from abroad, to create new lyrics and sing 'Let it Snow', to visit Santa's factory in Kętrzyn and go sightseeing by the tourist bus in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, to take pictures of our town at night .... and to see pictures from other sides of the world ...... But the most precious thing about 'Merry Us @ Christmas Fuss', was to share the joy with others.

‘Merry Us @ Christmas Fuss’ es definitivamente un proyecto único que ha unido a profesores y estudiantes de Polonia, España, Irlanda, Portugal, Rumanía, Turquía y Ucrania. Empezamos a trabajar nuestro proyecto en octubre de 2019 y lo acabamos en junio de 2020.

‘Merry Us @ Christmas Fuss’ es una forma de mostrar las diferentes tradiciones navideñas de una manera divertida y amigable. También quisimos hacer cosas nuevas, como escribir letras de navidad. Otra parte importante para nosotros fue aprender. Queríamos conocer a gente nueva de otras partes del mundo, hablar con ellos (aprender inglés), intercambiar experiencias… “Ser positivo y abierto de mente” fue nuestra idea de proyecto de una cooperación perfecta y queríamos que fuera posible con todos los miembros del proyecto.

Mientras trabajábamos en ‘Merry Us @ Christmas Fuss’ participamos en muchas actividades. En Polonia los alumnos fueron a la fábrica de Santa Claus en Kętrzyn, se elaboraron tarjetas postales de navidad y se intercambiaron con España, Potugal, Ucrania, Turquía… Nos divertimos muchos creando las nuevas letras para la canción “Let It Snow”. Además, en Gran Canaria fuimos de excursión en la guagua turística para visitar la ciudad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria para sacar fotos de la decoración navideña. La última parada fue el belén de arena de la playa de Las Canteras que es el icono más importante de la ciudad en estas fechas. Como sabemos, hubo un gran incendio en la cumbre de la isla, por lo que el belén de arena le hizo un homenaje especial. También, los alumnos y alumnas construyeron una maqueta del belén para decorar el hall del centro. Hemos estado muy entusiasmados leyendo las publicaciones y viendo las fotos de nuestros amigos de Europa. Ha sido un honor haber participado en la muestra de fotografías.

Queremos dar las gracias a nuestros amigos por disfrutar de las tradiciones navideñas con nosotros. Ha sido un honor conocerlos online en este proyecto. Esperemos verles pronto en persona en cuanto esta difícil situación se acabe. Disfrutamos mucho trabajando juntos haciendo galletas de jengibre y truchas en Gran Canaria, elaborando postales de navidad y recibirlas desde sus países, crear las letras y cantar “Let it Snow”, visitar la fábrica de Santa Claus en Kętrzyn (Polonia), ir de excursión en la guagua turística en Las Palmas de GC, sacar fotos de la ciudad de noche y ver fotos de otras partes del mundo. Pero lo más valioso de ‘Merry Us @ Christmas Fuss’ ha sido compartir nuestra alegría con todos.
