This picture represents me and a family member at Gall Pond fishing. The brown cabin on the right side is my cabin. There we like to

have fires if it’s not windy; go swimming if it’s warm; and go fishing; my favorite part! When we go fishing we like to listen to some

tunes such as Salt Water Joys; Newfie Stomp; I’m a Newfoundlander Born and Bred. In Gall Pond there is a lot of rain so we always

need to take our rubbers because even if it’s sunny the grass is still wet! I love my drawing and I hope you judges do to!!

Title: My Canada 150 Forest Story

Person Left: “We need forests for Oxygen.”

Person Right: “The forest is important. If there were no forests, there would be no Canada or wood that is important for fires. We

need to protect them. We also need them to build houses.”

Canadian’s, Newfoundlander’s especially think of hunting season as an overly exciting time of the year. By age, I am not permitted to go hunting with my

Nan and Bopa yet, but every year I’m always so excited for them to come home from their journey and tell me all about it. Just another reason to day

dream during supper with my mom! Many times Nan and Bopa have come across fascinating experiences such as when their cat Pumpkin went hunting with

them and a caribou got the sweet scent of the little kitten and tried to stick his big head into the blazing red truck to give Pumpkin a big slobbery lick!

We had a good laugh about that one. For 150 years us islanders have been continuing the tradition of hunting moose, caribou and other animals. Years ago

hunting was a way of life supplying delicious meats, fashionable clothing and now I will eventually take the tradition down and add some amazing memories.

My Canada 150 Forest Story. Me and my dad in the woods cutting down tress in the winter surrounded by the

wilderness. This is my favorite forest memory. Nature is beautiful in the winter. The ground is white, it gets darker

quicker so you can have a fire at like 7:00pm. In winter you need wood so you can light a fire to keep yourself warm.

My Canada 150 Forest Story. My story/poster is about my dad cutting wood in the forest for the wood stove

at his house and his parents house. He needs 30 loads of wood for his parents house and his house.
