Provincial Sylvan Learning
Junior 17 & Under Women’s and Men's
2009
Curling Championships
February 19 - 23
We are pleased to welcome everyone to the second Sylvan Learning
sponsored 17 and under Provincial Curling Championships.
It was the enthusiasm of our curling teachers and students that first sparked
our interest in this unique sport. To us, it combines great playing skills,
strategy and sportsmanship for participants of all ages and we are especially
proud to be supporting the young curlers in our communities.
We’re excited to be part of a sport that aims to develop new skills, build
confidence and achieve success – just like we do with our students at Sylvan.
Good luck to all the teams and have an enjoyable and challenging weekend!
Alan and Vicky Shipman
Sylvan Learning Centre, Charlottetown
On behalf of our members I would like to extend a warm welcome to the junior curlers from across the Island
participating in the 2009 Sylvan Learning Provincial 17 & Under Curling Championships.
We have endeavored to provide you with the facilities that will foster your enjoyment of your play here this
week-end and would like to thank all the volunteers that will assist in providing support and organization that
help make this event possible.
Thanks to our supporter, the Dairy Farmers of PEI, and to all curlers participating, good luck and good curling!
Sincerely,
Art Pendergast,
President
Welcome Curlers and guests.
On behalf of the PEI Curling Association’s board and member clubs, we hope that you enjoy the hospitality of
the Western Community Curling Club.
We thank the club for their support and all the volunteer hours put in by the membership to host this Provincial
Championship and also to the Maple Leaf Curling Club for their support this week.
Our thanks go out to Alan and Vicky Shipman and the staff at Sylvan Learning Centre for their continued
support to the junior curlers and especially this event, the Sylvan Learning Provincial 17 & Under Curling
Championships.
