ALEXANDER RUTHERFORD SCHOLARSHIP (75% - 79.9%) VALUE: Up to $1,500 NUMBER: Variable TENABLE: Any post-secondary institution ELIGIBILITY: 75% - 79.9% average for each high school year in the specified courses on the
application. For example, if you only got the 75% in your Grade 10 year, you can still apply in your Grade 12 year to receive the money. Grade 10 students may receive $300.00, grade 11 students $500.00 and grade 12 students $700.00 and the maximum value being $1,500.00 for all three years.

ALBERTA ASSOCIATION OF MUNICIPAL DISTRICTS AND COUNTIES VALUE: $1,000 NUMBER: 1 ELIGIBILITY: In order to be eligible, an applicant must: Be a resident of a municipality
which is a member in good standing of the AAMD&C; be registered to commence their first year of studies at a recognized Alberta post-secondary institution; and be pursuing a course of studies which is of relevance to local government and/or rural communities. ALBERTA FISH & GAME ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
VALUE: $500 NUMBER: 1 CRITERIA: Applicant must be enrolled in a minimum one-year environmental sciences or
related program at an accredited Alberta post-secondary institution. The applicant or their parent must be a member of the Alberta Fish & Game Association or an affiliate fish and game club. Must be 21 years of age or younger. The scholarship will not necessarily go to the student applying with the highest grades. Past experience and involvement with the Alberta Fish and Game Association or other related-interest organizations (ie. Junior Forest Wardens, Scouts, etc.) will be given great consideration. Financial need will also be a consideration.
APPLICATION: Submit a minimum 500-word essay outlining why they should be chosen and
future goals. The essay should include information on any involvement with AFGA, or other clubs or organizations, which are involved in maintenance of wildlife habitat, outdoor and firearms education (ie. Hunter Education. Firearms Safety. Scouts, Cadets, etc.). Outline of the program, all course requirements, and proof of acceptance are to be sent with the application form.

Alberta Gas Co-ops as well as children of landowners who are serviced with gas in member towns, villages and countries. APEGA offers 12 scholarships to grade 12 graduates entering the Faculty of Engineering or the Department of Geology or Geophysics at the University of Alberta or University of Calgary; or entering other universities or colleges in Alberta offering transfer programs in these disciplines. The scholarships, which pay for the tuition in the first year only, are awarded on the basis of grade 12 marks, extracurricular activities, financial need, three letters of reference, and reasons for pursuing the planned course of studies.
The scholarship will be paid directly to the university or college by APEGA upon confirmation of registration and must be used within two years of high school graduation. (If successful, you should indicate on your university fee card that a tuition scholarship was awarded by APEGA.)

ASSOCIATION OF ALBERTA AGRICULTURAL FIELDMEN MEMORIAL BURSARY
VALUE: $500
ELIGIBILITY: Available to students continuing their education at a College or University. Students must be enrolled in an agricultural or environmental science program.
CONDITIONS & CRITERA: Applicants must be Alberta residents. Applicants residing in the province but
attending school outside the province are eligible, and should apply to their local municipal Agricultural Fieldman. Bursaries will be awarded based on scholastic standing, social and community activities, and chosen program of study. High school graduates just entering their post-secondary studies will be given priority over students in subsequent year’s studies.
APPLICATION: The applicant is required to supply a copy of their marks from the last year of
high school attendance, together with a letter of acceptance and course of studies planned at a post-secondary institution. Completed applications, together with the required supporting information, should be forwarded to the Agricultural Fieldman in the closest rural municipality. BASEBALL ALBERTA SCHOLARSHIPS The Baseball Alberta Doris Taylor Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was created in recognition of Doris Taylor’s voluntary contribution to the Alberta youth during her years of service with Baseball Alberta. It is presented annually for post secondary studies to an athlete/umpire who has demonstrated outstanding academic performance, community service and shown athletic ability as a player with Baseball Alberta. The Dave Reiniger Memorial Scholarship was created in recognition of Mr. Reingier’s unequaled contribution to Alberta youth during his years of service with the Tiger Baseball Association and Baseball Alberta. The scholarship is applicable towards the extra costs of attending post secondary institutions and is payable in two installments. The Bob White Memorial Scholarship is designed to encourage players, registered with Baseball Alberta, to pursue college or university studies with ultimate objectives of obtaining a degree. The Gordie Wilson Memorial Scholarship is to encourage and assist athletes, currently registered with Baseball Alberta, to improve their skill levels through attendance at a baseball instructional camp. It is applicable towards the costs involved in attending an approved baseball camp offering high quality, well supervised technical programs. The award is for three hundred ($300.00) dollars annually, payable in two equal installments: the first after the announcement, and the second after attendance at the camp has been verified. Payment will be made by cheque drawn from the fund through the Alberta Sport Council. Anyone who is currently registered as player with Baseball Alberta and is between the ages of fourteen to sixteen by December 31st of the current calendar year can apply. CHILD CARE CAREER SCHOLARSHIP
AMOUNT: $2500 ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be entering their first year of post-secondary study, be
enrolled full-time in a recognized post-secondary program in early learning and child care education, and be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, and have successfully completed the Early Learning and Child Care courses (CCS3110-3150) OR the provincial Child Care Orientation Course (online or self-study) while in high school. Recipients who receive the scholarship agree to work in a licensed or approved child care program in Alberta for a period of one year upon graduation from their post-secondary early learning and child care education. Recipients who do not meet this commitment must repay the scholarship.

CRITERIA: The student must submit a 1000 word essay describing why education is their
chosen field of study. The essay should also describe the student’s vision of a day in the life of a teacher in the classroom with a focus on how he/she would ensure learners.
