Purpose of the ADHS Cost to Complete Estimate Report
l Establish new funding levels l Determine the apportionment factor l Shape new legislation
l Objective – To develop a WebBased GIS system that will help State DOTs and FHWA to complete 2007 ADHS Cost to Complete Estimate.
l Expected Functions – Regional and State ADHS maps – Corridor ADHS strip maps – Data & geometry editing – Abilities to view, print, inquire and update ADHS data – Document Management System (DMS) – Project cost monitoring system – Analysis tool
ADHS Cost Estimate GIS Initiative
l Challenges – Data from 13 States DOTs – Different GIS capabilities in State DOTs – Project level details through GIS system – Different user backgrounds – Development and operation
ADHS Cost Estimate GIS Initiative
Project Approach
l Establish ADHS Cost Estimate GIS advisory group involving State DOTs, FHWA Division offices, ARC and RTI
l Identify major functions and design system architecture
l Migrate from desktop to webbased system l Develop user manual and guidelines
EADHS.ORG
l Web portal for ADHS l Cost to Complete
– Internet Map – ESRI ArcGIS Server
– Cost Estimate Tables – Project Cost Monitoring System
