Proceed to enter Username and Password and click enter, or click Login.

A user can enter the unique document control number, or DCN, from their contract. If you are not yet contracted but have received an authorization, you can enter your Veterans' Preference Act, or VPA number. A VPA number is generated and assigned with your acceptance of a referral. You can also enter the number for a specific authorization. You will find the authorization number on your authorization letter which may have already been faxed or mailed to your practice.

You will be reverted back to the home screen below. Click Provider once again.

You will be transferred to the Provider Secure Home screen below. Click on View Authorization Status.

Beginning May 1, 2019, VA requires that providers send all medical documentation to their authorizing VAMC instead of TriWest. Providers that try to upload medical documentation to the TriWest Provider Portal after May 1, 2019 will find that function disabled. If you try to submit your medical documents via the TriWest Provider Portal, you will receive an error message.

If you receive the error message, you will be directed to the following authorization screen. Fill in the information pertaining to the episode of care. Authorizations can be viewed by authorization number, or the first and last name of the patient. Select the date range and Tax I.D. Number (TIN) associated with the provider and click Search.

Records pertaining to the criteria entered will be visible at the bottom of the screen. To access the clinical submission documentation, click on the paperclip icon.

The “files” box will open. Click on the document you would like to view and click open file at the bottom.

Click Print and/or View to Service Date Range.

PDF document will load on screen.
