The Flipside Flashbacks History of Jazz Part 1 - 30 January Jazz rarebits from the womb of New Orleans to the post pubescence of Bebop New York. Hear Scott Joplin, Louis Armstrong, Django Reinhardt, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker and Miles Davis as we navigate the back streets of African-America’s gift to world music. Featuring David ‘Django’ Boston on guitar, Dan ‘Slam’ Fulton on bass, Anton ‘Lester’ Wuts on sax and Will ‘Wild Bill’ McClure on drums. They will be joined onstage by undercover divas whose voices will cosset your ears.

Anton and the Orchestrators History of Jazz Part 2 - 6 February From the 21st birthday bash of bebop, to free jazz, funk and beyond, the Orchestrators will take you on a clandestine campaign of musical mutopia. Everything you always wanted to know about modern jazz, but were afraid to hear... with John Rae (drums), Patrick Bleakley (double bass), Blair Latham (woodwinds), Ben Wilcock (keyboards) and Anton Wuts (saxophone).

Hawke’s Bay Jazz Club Big Band featuring Born to Move Dancers Big Band Jazz - 13 February Hawke’s Bay Jazz Club Big Band offers a unique opportunity to listen and dance to the big sound of a 24 piece orchestra, playing classics from the swing jazz era as well as more modern tunes. The performance will also feature dancers from Born to Move Dance Studio in Hastings, strutting their stuff to the classics, including Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman, and the modern styles of Michael Buble.

The Duchess Club Jazz - 20 February The Duchess club is a celebration of women in jazz across the ages. A collaboration between singer Margot Wuts, percussionist Nicky Wuts and saxophonist Anton Wuts, featuring Caleb Robinson on double bass and Ben Wilcox on piano. Friends since jazz school, the magic created by these superb musicians is a joy to experience. Many tunes will be well known to the audience, but some will be delightful new discoveries or a fresh twist on classic numbers.

The Berrie Jazz - 27 February This Wellington four piece delivers a maximum-energy cocktail of jazz/funk fusion and originals. Influenced by artists Jaco Pastorius, John Scofield, Joshua Redman, Billy Cobham, Chris Potter, George Benson and more. This combination is a force to be reckoned with, featuring Ashton Sellars (guitar), Oscar ‘the Baron’ Laven (horns), Jacob Randall (drums), and Blain ‘Budababushka’ Fitzpatrick (bass).
