Effective Communication with Children and Families
Training Objectives
Participants will know about the Family and Community Engagement Performance Standards and the importance of the parents role in their child’s education.
Participants will know the importance of building a strong and trusting relationship with children and families in our MSHS Program.
Participants will know the importance of knowing, understanding and acknowledging the culture of the families that we serve.
Participants will know the importance of assisting parents in developing language and literacy.

At TMC Effective Communication Is The Key For Positive Relationships by:
Providing parents with the necessary tools to promote language and literacy(books, art materials, magazines, etc.)
Involving parents in literacy activities such as singing, book making, storytelling, cooking, special events, etc.
Providing on -going PCA’s for home/school connections for parents to incorporate language games that are fun
Providing opportunities to meet with the parents-open door policy
Providing opportunities to become involved the in the decision making process through PCC and Policy Council
Organizing field trips, projects for center, community involvement, etc.
