ProtoBlue Safe

Gel StainsWash gel 3 times for 5 minutes with deionized water on an orbital shaker.

(This wash step is optional. A longer incuba-tion in stain solution compensates for bypass-ing this step.)

Add 1 part ethanol to 9 parts stain-ing solution while stirring. Standard denatured ethanol is fine.*

Add enough staining solution to com-pletely cover the gel (20 - 50 ml).

Bands containing more than 1µg of pro-tein will be detected within 15 minutes. For full sensitivity (up to 5ng), incubate the gel in stain for at least 5 hours.

*Adding the ethanol immediately before staining greatly improves the sensitivity, reproducibly and shelf life of ProtoBlue Safe as compared to formulations where the ethanol is added at the point of manufacture.

Samples separated on a 12% standard Laemmli gel, stained overnight with ProtoBlue Safe.

HRPL Kit

National Diagnostics’ HRPL Kit is a nonradioactive chemilumines-cence based method for the detection of horseradish peroxidase. The HRPL Kit causes light to be produced when any molecule labeled with horseradish peroxidase is exposed to the reagents in the kit. National Diagnostics’ Protein Precipitation kit makes the cleanup and concentration of proteins from dilute solutions fast, easy and reliable. A unique proprietary system brings down >99% of all proteins, even complex mixtures in dilute solution. Interfering salts and surfactants are left behind in the supernatant.
