Getting started with Protection Service for Business

This is the PSB Portal Home Page. Here you can manage your accounts, add devices, and make sure that your network is protected.

You can add new computers to your network in the PSB portal.

At first, no computers are registered to your account.

Click the adding your computers link.

This opens the Computers page, where you can add

new computers.

NOTE: You can also download the application by clicking the Download software link.

Click Add computers.

Select a PSB Workstation Security subscription from

the Subscription drop-down menu.

Enter the email address of the owner of the computer

that you want to add.

Click Send.

TIP: Remember to save the file to a folder where you can find it, for example your desktop.

NOTE: The text in the email may vary depending on your solution provider.

Read the email thoroughly.

Write down your subscription key; you will need it later.

Click the Installer link.

This downloads the installation package. If any

warning messages appear, confirm that you want to

continue downloading the file.

You have now downloaded the installation package for Windows computers.

Double-click the downloaded file. The default location

is the Downloads folder.

Check the warning and click Run.

Enter the user name and password for your

administrator account.

Click Yes.

The installation starts.

NOTE: If you only have administrator rights to your own computer instead of the network domain, enter your user name as .\username.

TIP: We recommend that you use a non-administrative account as the main user account.

This is the first page of the product’s installation wizard.

TIP: The default language is based on your computer’s default language.

Select the installation language from the drop-down

menu.

Click Next.

This is the license agreement for the product.

TIP: We strongly recommend that you always read the license agreement carefully, especially the sections concerning your privacy.

Read the license agreement carefully.

Click Accept.

After your subscription key has been confirmed, the installation will continue.

NOTE: Depending on the speed of your connection, it might take some time to download the files.

The files needed during installation are downloaded.

Once the files are downloaded, click Next.

Here you can choose the type of the installation you want.

In most cases, Automatic installation is

recommended.

Click Next.

The product checks your computer for conflicting anti-virus software.

PSB checks if you have any conflicting products

installed, and removes them if necessary.

Click Next.

TIP: The feature that checks your computer for conflicting software is updated constantly, but it may not cover all possible products. If you have any conflicting anti-virus applications installed, we recommend that you remove them manually before you start installing PSB Workstation Security.

After checking for conflicting software, the installation continues normally.

Wait until the installation is complete.

Click Next.

This is the final part of the installation, which configures updates the product.a

First, your subscription key is verified.

The latest updates are downloaded and installed. This

may take quite a while.

Once all updates are installed, click Close.

You can open PSB Workstation Security by clicking the

F-Secure icon on the system tray.

TIP: You can manage the product settings via PSB portal, so you do not need to change any settings locally.

TIP:You can minimize the application during this stage and continue to use your computer as normal.
