    PROSPERING PHYSICALLY

    April 10, 2011

    I INTRODUCTION

For a few minutes today I would like us to address the subject of Prospering Physically. I would like uto deal with this subject for several reasons:

    (a) It is God's will that we prosper physically(b) It is a God given duty and responsibility to practice a healthy life style

    (c) Most if not all of us are guilty of not paying sufficient attention to this area of our lives

II GOD'S DESIRE FOR US TO PROSPER PHYSICALLY

    i. A matter priority

"Beloved,I wish above all thingsthat thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as

thy soul prospereth". 3 John 2

    ii. Man's original diet

"And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the

sight, andgood for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of

knowledge of good and evil". Gen 2:9

"Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I

given you all things. 4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall

    ye not eat". Gen 9:3-4

iii. Sickness, disease and death resulted because of sin

" And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou

mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not

eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die" . Gen 2:16-17

iv. Man's lifespan was reduced because of sin

"And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is

flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years". Gen 6:3

    v. God's is a healer of His people

" And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt

do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all

his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the

Egyptians: forI am the LORD that healeth thee". Ex 15:26

" Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine

iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases" Ps 103:2-3

" But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: thechastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed". Isa 53:5

III OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO PRACTICE HEALTHY LIFE STYLE

    i. Our bodies are God's Temple

" Know ye not thatye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in

you? 17If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of

God is holy, which temple ye are". 1 Cor 3:16-17

ii. We need to adopt healthy life styles

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected

knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast

forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hos 4:6

"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin".

    James 4:17

iii. Requirements for a healthy life style

Nutrition, Exercise, Water; Sunshine, Temperance, Air, Rest and Trust in God

IV IT'S TIME FOR ALIFE STYLE CHANGE

    Are you guilty of:

    a. Eating foods the wrong foods, b. Eating at the wrong time, c. Over eating, d.Not

drinking enough water, e.Not exercising regularly, f.Not getting adequate rest?
