Information about Welingkar Institute

Prin. L.N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research(We school) is a part of the Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali’s in Pune, which ishightly acclaimed for a rich educational legacy of over 130 years and managesmultiple educational institutes across Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali’s manages Sir Parshurambhau College,(popularly known as S. P. College) & Tilak College of Education in Pune. It alsomanages Nutan Marathi Vidhyalay (popularly known as NMV), Ruia MookBadhir Vidhyalay & Naralkar Institute of Management in Pune. Distance Learning Program (DLP)

Type I - Monday to Friday (Evening Batch)

Type II - Sunday Batch

Type III - By Prescheduled PCPs.

The prospectus & admission forms are available at the Institute on payment of` 100/-, or by post through DD in the name of 'Prin. L. N. Welingkar Instituteof Management', payable at Mumbai.

The form can be downloaded from our website www.welingkaronline.org inwhich case ̀ 100/- will be added to the course fee.

Admissions will be restricted to a selected number of students for each program.

Fees are payable in full at the time of admission.

Fees once paid shall not be refunded for any reason under any circumstances.

If there is a change of name, the student has to submit copy of gazette /appropriate documents mentioning the same.

Attested photo copy of the marksheet (XII / Graduation / Diploma) WorkExperience Certificate (if required) and recent pass port size photograph shouldbe submitted to the office. In case of change of name please submit requireddocuments.

After verifying the documents in the office, students should fill up the formthrough our online registration system (guided by the office staff). The studentcan pay the fee in multiple payment mode either online (Net banking usingDebit / Credit card) or cash or by cheque or by a DD in the name of 'Prin. L. N.Welingkar Institute of Management'.

The following candidates are eligible to pursue the 1 Year / 6 Month Diplomaprograms:

One Year Diploma

A. Graduate in any faculty (Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering, Pharmacy,Medicine, Architecture, Computer Science, and Business Administration.)

B. Students who have appeared for the Final year examination pass all previoussemester may also apply. (Admission will be confirmed only on submission ofthe attested Photocopies of their degree certificates/final year mark sheets andsubject to the student successfully completed degree.)

C. Due to any reason student is not able to clear his final year examination beforethe examination of first semester, his / her admission will be cancel and norefund of fees will be made under any circumstances.

D. Diploma Holders (SSC + 3 years / HSC + 2 years) from any recognized board oruniversity.

E. Passed Class XII and having two year full-time work experience post class XIImay apply. Candidates will need to produce work experience certificate.

Six Months Diploma

A. Passed XII in any faculty.

B. Graduate in any faculty (Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering, Pharmacy,Medicine, Architecture, Computer Science, and Business Administration.)

Information about the Distance Learning Program(DLP) Courses

The Institute conducts classes from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm Monday to Friday (Type-I) (EveningBatch) for students who enroll for the Diploma courses. Highly qualified faculty withindustry experience are invited as visiting professors to teach various subjects. Theyhelp students develop managerial aptitude. The case studies and practical examplessupplement the theoretical knowledge of students in various subjects in the managementfield. Till April 2015, the enrollment of total students for management courses ofWelingkar Institute had exceeded 2, 26,128 students. Many of them are workingin well known companies all over India and some of the students are workingin developed countries such as America, England, Canada, Japan, etc.

The medium of instruction is English. The study material is written in simpleand lucid language by experiened and practicing managers.

All courses admission commence twice in a year, i.e. in the month ofJuly / August and in January every year. The one year courses are divided intotwo semesters. Each semester consists of five subjects.

The course fee includes the cost of lectures study material and one time examfees.

Examination Process

For Monday to Friday - Evening Batch / Sunday Batch /Distance Learning - By Prescheduled PCPs

DLP (Type I, II, III )

The examination is carried out on a flexible & convenient online system,based on semester pattern at Aptech Centres. It is held in the month of December/ January & May / June every year. The duration of each exam is 1 hour.

Online exams will be given in English only.

The student who secures 50% marks is declared to be successful in that subject.The results are declared within 30 days from the last date of the examinationperiod.

The exam time-table will be put up on the notice board as well as on thewebsite of the institute a month prior to the exam and students are requestedto take note of it. (For Evening Batch / Sunday Batch students & DistanceLearning by Prescheduled PCPs)

The detailed schedule of the examination and PCP lectures will be conveyedto the students well in advance (for Distance Learning / Online students).The same will be uploaded on the website.

The student who does not appear for the examination or who gets less than50 marks in a particular subject, can re-appear for the examination in the nextsemester by filling the re-examination form along with the fee of ̀ 300/- persubject, three months prior to the examination.

If a student is not able to appear or has failed in the examination of a particularcourse one year diploma students after one year & six months diploma /advanced certificate should re-register his / her name after 6 months by paying` 500/- as re-registration fees along with re-exam fees of ̀ 300/- per subject.

Those students who are declared successful in all the papers of a particulardiploma course will be awarded Diploma from Welingkar Institute ofManagement during the convocation held in the month of April every year.

From January 2006, examination for the Diplomas of Evening / Sunday Batch/ Distance Learning / online exam. The checking process is automatic hencere-evaluation of the papers will not be entertained.

The student who desires to change the course / course type within 15 daysfrom the admission date have to pay ̀ 200/- as transfer charges.

The student who desires to change in examination type (Pattern) in the NetVersion (Online Exam) shall have pay ` 1000/- per Subject along with therespective document/s.

Guidelines for giving exams through Aptech Centres

DLP Type I, II , III

(For Monday to Friday Evening Batch / Sunday Batch / DistanceLearning By Prescheduled PCPs)

To give more flexibility and to make the entire exam process more convenient for ourstudents, we have tied up with Aptech Ltd. for Online exams.

The following are the major features:

1) You can give the exam from any of the Registered Centres of Aptech.( List of Registered Centres are given herewith for your reference.)

2) Aptech Centres are open 7 days a week from morning between 9.00 am toevening 7.30 pm. There are 8 time slots available each days. You can give theexams in any sequence as per your choice on any day during any of the8 time slots available between morning 9.00 am to evening 7.30 pm.

3) While giving the exams you can go back to any question and review / changeyour answers any number of times. There will be a facility by which you canknow which questions have been skipped or which question you want toreview later on.

4) Prior to giving the exams, you have to book in advance the date, the subject,the time slot and the Aptech Centre from our websitewww.welingkaronline.org, during the stipulated period.

5) You have to print out the Hall Ticket for each subject. For e.g. if you wish toappear for 5 papers, you have to print out 5 hall tickets.

6) Student must report 15 minutes before the commencement of the exams at theselected Aptech Exam Centre on the date chosen by you. You have to showthe hall ticket printed by you at the Centre along with another identity prooflike - Welingkar ID Card / Driving Licence / PAN card / Valid Passport.

7) Dates for Online Booking of exams will be indicated seperately.

8) Guidelines for booking test slots will be available on our above mentionedwebsite at an appropriate time prior to the exams.

Other Information

Please bring your Id-Card & Fee Receipt issued by Welingkar Institutewhenever you visit the Institute as well as at the time of examination.

Library facility is made a valiable to studetns on payment of ` 500/-as library deposit, which is refundable for January batch till 31st of March &for July batch till 15th of October and for Distance by Schedule Learningstudents library fee is ̀ 1000/- (` 500/- as library deposit which is refundable).

A student who has successfully completed one Diploma course from WelingkarInstitute can register himself for the second Diploma course. The students arenot required to appear for the examination of those subjects in which theyhave already secured 50% or more marks in the exam of the first Diplomacourse. He has to appear for the exam of only those subjects which areadditional in the second Diploma course. He has to pay the entire fee for thesecond Diploma and it will be completed within 6 months.

A student who has lost his Identity Card / Fee Receipt can apply for a duplicateId Card / Fee Receipt along with a fee of ̀ 100/-.

Students who have successfully completed their Diploma can apply for aprovisional certificate on payment of ̀ 100/-.

Students who have successfully completed their Diploma will be awarded acertificate by the Welingkar Institute of Management. Every student will get amark sheet showing the marks obtained by the student in the subjects theyappeared for.

After completion of Welingkar One Year Diploma / 6 Months AdvancedCertificate Course, if a student desires to enroll himself / herself for anotherone year diploma course he / she can complete the another program in sixmonths through Distance learning only. (For Eligibility kindly refer eligibilitycriteria for respective programs).

A student who enrolls for two different programs at the same time (for thesame batch), he / she shall not be granted waiver for common subjects or fees.

After successful completion of Welingkars one year diploma / eleven monthsPGP / Certificat program, a student can directly join another one Diploma /eleven months PGP / Certificate program (Common Subjects will be waivedoff).

Graduate plus Welingkar one year Diploma / eleven months PGP or 3 yearspolytechnic diploma holders with a minimum of 3 years work experience candirectly join in the 2nd Semester of PGDM (DLP) course of Welingkar Institute.(Conditions Apply)

CONVOCATION

The Annual Convocation of the Institute for awarding Diplomas to thesuccessful candidates would be held every year in March/April only. Thesame will be intimated to the student in February/March. Students can attendthe convocation and receive the Diploma from the hands of the Chief Guest.

Those students who are unable to attend the convocation can collect theirDiploma a week after the convocation or 15 days after the convocation it willbe despatched to the student’s address.

DISCIPLINE

Conduct of the students in their classes as well as in the premises of the Instituteshall be such as will cause no disturbance to fellow students or other classes.

Students must not loiter about or congregate in the Institute premises while the

classes are in progress.

Student must take proper care of the institute’s property and help in keepingthe premises neat and clean. Any damage to the property of the Institute will

have to be paid for by the student concerned.

In the name or premises of the Institute, no society, association, organisation,

etc shall be formed, no collection will be made, no tickets will be sold, no

function or social event will be arranged, no person will be invited to addressstudents, no notice will be printed and / or circulated without the permission

of the General Manager. No notice shall be put up on the notice boards, no

announcement will be made without the General Manager written permission.

Students should, in their own interest, read the notices daily including changein class timings, examination time table etc, which are displayed on the notice

board from time to time.

Students joining the Institute are required to abide by all the Rules and

Regulations, that may be issued by the Institute’s authorities from time to time

and to submit to the normal enforcement of the same to the satisfaction of theInstitute’s authorities whose decision in all mattters shall be final and the

same shall not be called in question on any ground whatsoever.
