Quality and Trust EndorsementsFTMSGlobal Academy, through its stringent pursuit of excellence and quality service in providing education and training, has gained quality and trust endorsements that recognise these achievements:

The EduTrust Certification Scheme is a voluntary scheme administered by the Council for Private Education (CPE) for private institutions in Singapore. Although it is a voluntary scheme, it is one of the pre-requisites which private education institutions that enrol international students must meet to qualify for the issue of Student Passes, as stipulated by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA). The scheme provides a means for better private education institutions to differentiate themselves as having achieved higher standards in key areas of management and provision of educational services. For more information on the CPE and EduTrust Certification, please refer to www.cpe.gov.sg

The Singapore Quality Class (SQC) is the certification for the overall business excellence standard. Based on the internationally benchmarked business excellence framework, the SQC provides organisations with a holistic model for managing a business for excellence. It has 7 categories namely, Leadership, Planning, Information, People, Processes, Customers and Results. FTMSGlobal is proud to be a recipient of the Singapore Quality Class (SQC) award. Certification to SQC is determined by the organisation’s performance in the Business Excellence Assessment for Continuous Improvement (BEACON). The assessment allows an organisation to benchmark its own management systems and practices against the criteria requirements of the business excellence framework. Organisations that attain commendable levels of performance on the framework are recognised with the Business Excellence Certifications and those that attain outstanding levels are recognised with the Business Excellence Awards. The recognition helps organisations to distinguish themselves in the marketplace and gain a competitive advantage. To learn more about the SQC, please visit www.spring.gov.sg

The MBA programme from Anglia Ruskin University offers students an incredible opportunity to develop their leadership and personal management skills through constructive interactions and team works. I have the chance to attend this course thanks to FTMGlobal Academy in Singapore for the period of one year as full-time student. The environment in the campus is really captivating and motivating, lecturers are always available to any of my requirement and very helpful in my learning. The college’s emphasis on collaboration, sharing information and ideas among my fantastic classmates and colleagues makes FTMSGlobal Academy the perfect choice for the MBA course. Useful Information for International StudentsWHY SINGAPORE?

Why study in Singapore? Singapore is a developed country with a strong and globally recognised education sector. Students from all over the world are increasingly coming to Singapore to obtain qualifications that will bring them success in the careers of their choice.

CLIMATEThe climate in Singapore is typically tropical as the island is almost on the equator. The weather all year round is similar, with temperatures ranging from about 28 - 32 degrees Celsius. However, there is a monsoon season between November and January when there will be torrential rain almost every day in the early morning and mid-afternoon, for about an hour.

PEOPLECulture and religion remain entwined in Singapore, far more than in the West. Throughout the year, a constant stream of festivals and celebrations in the streets and temples reflects the diverse beliefs and backgrounds of this multicultural society, comprising of Buddhists, Taoists, Muslims, Hindus, Christians and Sikhs. Many of the major Buddhist, Muslim and Hindu festivals are marked by public holidays and Christmas is just one more holiday - for which shops stay open.

COST OF LIVINGThe standard of living in Singapore is amongst the highest in Asia. Compared to countries in western continents, the cost of living here is relatively low, and basic items like food and clothing are very reasonably priced. When planning your budget, you will need to cater for these items:

An international student in Singapore spends on average S$750 to S$2,000 a month on living expenses. This amount varies depending on your individual lifestyle and course of study. These estimated cost ranges in the table below give a rough guide of the basic expenditure an international student may incur per month.

ITEM COST PER MONTHAccommodation $350 - $1,500 (rental varies with type of accommodation, demand, facilities provided and the number of people sharing). For budgeting purposes, it would be advisable to use $550 p.m. as the basic rate for room rentals.Utilities $50 - $80 (not applicable for boarding schools). Food $300 - $450 (Based on $10-$15 a day for 3 meals). Note: Included in boarding fees, Boarding Schools usually provide two meals a day. Not included in room rates, Halls of Residence normally offer meals at extra charge.Public Transport $20 - $100 (varies with types of student concession pass)Telecommunications From $30 (varies with usage and promotional packages subscribed)Books & Stationery $30 - $100 (varies with course)Personal $100 - $200 (varies with individuals - clothes, toiletries, entertainment, haircut, miscellaneous)

*Please note that the average estimates were derived based on recent prices and they serve as a reference only

TRANSPORTTravelling in Singapore is both easy and economical. There is an efficient public transportation network, which offers taxis, buses, and the modern Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) rail system. With its excellent public transport system, Singapore is, without a doubt, the easiest city in Asia to get around

FOODMalay, Chinese, Indonesian, Peranakan, Indian, Thai, Japanese, Korean cuisine, and more compete one another in the “battle of the taste buds”! On top of that, there is Singapore’s vast array of hawker stalls and restaurants that range from global franchises to gourmet delis to posh six-star settings

SafetyThe Singapore Government has and will continue to be vigilant in ensuring that Singapore remains safe. It has stepped up security measures at key installations and other sensitive places.
