process how we thinkat prorata landscape architecture we love the land upon which we exist. from the micro to the grandest of landscapes, we are interested in the ongoing wellbeing of man and nature.

existing in harmany with natural systems drives us. immersing ourselves within rivers, forests, lakes, mountains and oceans, inspires our thinking.

while nature provides the starting point for our design process, culture and context informs and shapes the overall result. we care deeply about natural processes and the environment. we are passionate about art, architecture, urban design and the built environment.

our philosophy:

“we believe quality landscape architecture and landscape design should serve to integrate both natural and cultural processes.

we believe good design is about creating functional, comfortable and inspiring spaces for human use while promoting integrated environmental wellbeing.”

Maestro Colour Award - LandscapehResene Total Colour Awards 2014

Prorata Landscape Architecture recently were awarded national runner up in the Landscape section at the 2014 Resene Total Colour Awards for their work with Foxton Beach Motor Camp.

We are excited by being recognised for this award, though acknowledge this is bought about by a positive community effort supported by a client with lmited resources but bold vision.

What the judges said :

“Incorporating themes of ‘Retro’ Caravan Awning patterns and the local seascape this motor camp embraces this theme and perspective incredibly well. It brings together the focus of the location with the natural environment to celebrate both in a colourful lively way to attract and reflect the liveliness of its regular stream of family campers.

The use of colour on this project brings a warm and vibrant feel; without it the landscape could be very bland. Using bold strokes of colour on key elements of the project also provides a quick means of recognisable identification of key camp locations when the camp is abuzz with holiday activity. “
