ProQuest PartsManagerPro 4.x Installations There are 4 sections of installations for this product: I. Program Installation at TSE Server/Main Parts Machine II. Data Installation at TSE Server/Main Parts Machine III. Program Installation at any computer OTHER THAN the TSE Server/Main Parts Machine IV. TSE Setup (perform after Sections I. and II.) Proceed to the installation section that you desire. Please take note that Section I MUST be completed before any other section. Section II should also be performed prior to Section III. Section III is optional (only needed if other machines will be running/accessing PartsManagerPro - Data is retrieved from the TSE Server/Main Parts Machine). Lastly, ensure Section IV. is completed after Sections I. II. if this installation is on a TSE server. I. ProQuest PartsManagerPro 4.x InstallationsThere are 4 sections of installations for this product:

I. Program Installation at TSE Server/Main Parts MachineII. Data Installation at TSE Server/Main Parts MachineIII. Program Installation at any computer OTHER THAN the TSE Server/Main Parts MachineIV. TSE Setup (perform after Sections I. and II.)

Proceed to the installation section that you desire. Please take note that Section I MUST be completed before any other section. Section II should also be performed prior to Section III. I. ProQuest PartsManagerPro Program Installation (Network)Notes: - Ensure that any Antivirus, Spyware, or Firewall softwares are disabled for this installation

- Ensure there are no previous versions of PartsManagerPro installed; if so, uninstall- This installation is to be performed on a TSE server or dedicated Parts machine

1. Login as an administrator

2. If this is a TSE server, perform the following:From a Command Prompt or at the Start, Run block, type: CHANGE USER /INSTALL (there is a SPACE before and after

USER)

3. If setup.exe does not auto-start, insert CD and click Start, Run, and type R:\AUTORUN.EXE and press ENTER.

4. At the Language selection, leave as English and click Next

5. At the InstallShield Wizard, click Next to begin

6. Check the "I've Read This" checkbox and click Next

7. Read the License Agreement and click Yes

8. a. If this IS NOT a TSE installation, select Network Server as the setup type and click Next b. If this IS a TSE installation, select Terminal Services as the setup type and click Next

9. Leave the default Destination Location and click Next

10. Leave the Select Features set as-is and click Next

11. Click Next to start copying files

12. Click Finish to restart the computer

II. ProQuest PartsManagerPro Data InstallationNotes: - Ensure that any Antivirus, Spyware, or Firewall softwares are disabled for this installation

- Ensure no one on the network has PartsManagerPro open- This installation is to be performed on the same machine as the initial installation in Section I. above ONLY.

1. Login as an administrator

2. If this is a TSE server, perform the following:From a Command Prompt or at the Start, Run block, type: CHANGE USER /INSTALL

3. If setup.exe does not auto-start, insert CD and click Start, Run, and type R:\AUTORUN.EXE and press ENTER.

4. At the Language selection, leave as English and click Next

5. At the Data InstallShield Wizard screen, click Next

6. If the Select Copy Option dialog box appears, click Next. Do not select the”Keep some OEM catalog data on CD/DVD” check box. Note: This screen may or may not appear.

7. Check the "I have completed" checkbox and click Next

8. Select the drive with the most space and click Next

9. Leave the vendor's checkbox checked and click Next

10. Click Next to start copying files

11. This completes the Data installation. Repeat all steps for each vendor's data disk(s)

III. ProQuest PartsManagerPro Program Installation (PC)Notes: - Ensure that any Antivirus, Spyware, or Firewall softwares are disabled for this installation

- Ensure no one on the network has PartsManagerPro open- This installation is to be performed on the same machine as the Network Server installation at top of this document ONLY.

1. Login as an administrator

2. Click Start, Run, and type in the box \\ServerName\PQPMProInst\SETUP.EXE and press ENTER.(ServerName is the machine name of the TSE Server or Main Parts Machine in which the Section I installation was performed)

3. At the Installation Wizard screen, click Next

4. Check the "I have completed" checkbox and click Next

5. Read the License Agreement and click Yes

IV. TSE Setup

Notes: 1. The following installation steps are for installation on TSE ONLY and ONLY need to be performed upon the initial installation of the product. Please ensure Sections I. and II. are completed prior to this Section.

2. These instructions are for a SHARED USER DATABASE. Please see the company's instructions for detailed differences in creating separate PDN files and moving them as necessary for individual User Databases.

1. Log back in as an Administrator

2. Right-click the My Computer icon and select Manage.

3. Click the PLUS sign next to Local Users and Groups, click once on USERS in the left window pane, and perform the following steps for each user that will be using PartsManager Pro:

a. Double-click the USERNAME listed in the right window paneb. Click the Terminal Services Profile tabc. Half-way down the tab, enter in the Local Path block the following: C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\%

USERNAME%d. Click OKe. Click the Profile tab and perform step c. above once again.f. Click OK

4. Click Start, Programs, PartsManagerPro and select User Database Manager.

5. Highlight the default Local User Database (lower white block on window) and click Create PDN.Note: Please note the location the PDN is being saved to; you will need this location in Step 7.

6. Click OK to any prompts and close the User Database Manager.

7. Using Windows Explorer, copy the following file to each user folder under C:\Documents and Settings\ in which Step #5 was

performed for: ex. DriveLetter:\ProQuestMS\PartsManagerPro\UserDB_PMProUserDatabase.pdn (ie. copy DriveLetter:

\ProQuestMS\PartsManagerPro\UserDB_PMProUserDatabase.pdn to C:\Documents and Settings\STN2). Note: Blue Ridge Computer Technologies has developed a ProQuest Copy Utility downloadable from our website to automate/simplify this step.
