Planning Act 2008 (as amended) EN020001 – Application by National Grid for an Order Granting Development Consent for the Hinkley Point C Connection Project Proposed route alignment accompanied site inspection itinerary 15 – 17 April 2015 The itinerary for the accompanied site inspection of the proposed route can be found below. In the tables below, references to the sites in the ‘Comments’ column are not exclusive but indicate what the Panel would like to see at this stage. Please note that the Panel’s inspection of sites is not an opportunity to provide any oral representations on the project or discuss evidence. It is an opportunity for the Panel to look at the physical features that can be seen on, or from the sites. Participants may be invited by the Panel to point out specific features or sites of interest. Clothing It will be necessary for all parties to wear appropriate sturdy footwear and weather-proof clothing. It is recommended that participants bring and wear high visibility jackets when walking on the public highway. Joining the site visit It is not possible to predict precisely how long each part of the visit will last. Parties wishing to join the visit should attend the advertised start point in good time. The Panel will not wait for parties who are not present at the start point at the notified time. Parties intending to join en route should notify the Planning Inspectorate, giving a contact telephone number. Maps of the route for sessions 1 and 2 and the meeting place for session 3 are at Annex A. Sites on private land Access onto private land is at all times by permission of the person controlling it; householders, occupiers and landowners may refuse to allow some persons accompanying the Panel onto their land. Under those circumstances, the Panel will decide whether or not to proceed with that part of the visit, and may ask those refused access to wait outside. A coach will transport participants around the port areas for session 3. It will not be possible to disembark from the coach during the inspection. Notifications To ensure the smooth running of the Panel’s inspection, any changes in attendance should be notified to the Case Officer, Siân Evans, by 5pm on Monday 13 April 2015 by telephone on 0303 444 5000 or email at
1
[email protected]. Please provide contact details for the day and ensure the Planning Inspectorate is made aware of any special access requirements for any participants. Cancellations Please note that in the unlikely event that these accompanied site inspections are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances we shall endeavour to contact attendees beforehand but we would advise that you should regularly check the Planning Inspectorate’s website which can be viewed here: http://infrastructure.planningportal.gov.uk/projects/south-west/hinkley-point-c-connection/
