Proposals Gathering 2015

Your Negotiating Committee is responsible for gathering and compiling proposals as well as for holding a proposals conference.

The process for gathering proposals must begin now as our Collective Bargaining Agreement expires on June 30th, 2016.

If you wish to submit a proposal, use the attached proposal form. One proposal per form please!

If you wish to submit a proposal to amend our Professional Services Bargaining Unit Bargaining Guidelines, please use the attached proposal form for this as well.

All proposals must be submitted to the Saskatoon SGEU Office or to your Campus Chairperson on or before September 21, 2015.

Once the proposals are assembled into a package format, they will be distributed to each Campus Committee for membership perusal.

A proposals conference to finalize our proposals package will be held on November 20 and 21, 2015 in Saskatoon at the Radisson Hotel.

Proposals Gathering and Proposals Conference

1. Your Negotiating Committee is responsible for directing each Campus Committee to make a call for proposals at least ninety (90) days prior to the proposals conference.

2. Every member has the right to submit proposals for consideration and shall be notified of the process to do so.

3. Proposals:

a) A proposal is a suggested change to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

b) A proposal must be clear, concise and submitted on the approved form.

c) A proposal must be accompanied by the member’s name, Campus, work location, and telephone number for the purposes of clarification and/or verification.

d) A proposal should include:

i. The rationale for the change.

ii. Reference to current articles in the Collective Bargaining Agreement or to the Professional Services Bargaining Unit Bargaining Guidelines, whenever possible.

iii. References to other Collective Agreements (attach relevant documents if available), if known.

iv. A statement of the desired change

4. Following compilation of the proposals, the Chairperson of each Campus Committee will hold a meeting with their local members at each Campus to discuss the proposals package. This should not preclude other members of the Negotiating Committee from attending but allows simultaneous meetings to happen.
