Ways (methods) of knowledge transfer

• 6 hours lecture, 6 hours workshop

TOPICS:

• Theory about knowledge transfer for different age groups

• Methods / ways of knowledge transfer

• Planning of the programmes of knowledge transfer for specific groups (related to Lifelong Learning process)

• Informatics, innovation, education, demonstration and practical trainings

• Interactive Strategic Thinking and Networking related to the knowledge transfer

• Perception of students / adults regarding different ways of knowledge transfer

• Paradox of “knowledge market”

CommunicationProfessor-student communication

• 2 hours lecture + 2 hours workshop

• Researchers in education and communication found that professor’s communication influence student’s learning outcomes.

• Students/participants who felt more understood by their professors and were more involved in classroom communication reported more positive affective responses to the professor and higher motivation and satisfaction with the course.

• Across cultures, best professors were perceived to employ more nonverbal expressiveness, relaxed movement, in-class conversation, and out-of-class communication than worst professors.

• How can professors of agricultural improve their communication with students/participants?

• The main goal of the lecture and workshop is to present key knowledge and skills to enhance their communication with students and other users.

CommunicationAgricultural communication

• 2 hours lecture + 2 hours workshop• The agricultural production and processing industry is faced with issues of image, ethics and survival.

• Agriculture comes under fire from consumers, government agencies and environmental interest groups.

• The greatest deficiency of agricultural production and processing is the effective communication of ideals and standards to wide and varied audiences.

• A significant demand exists in agribusiness for skilled communicators.

• Agricultural communication creates a bridge of communication between the agricultural industry, the media and the public.

• How to communicate with media and public?

• The main goal of the lecture and workshop is to present key elements and techniques of agricultural communication.

The necessary activities (in preparation phase): Implementation a survey among students and teachers

• Regarding “Communication” part of training we would like to carry out a survey on the satisfaction with communication of both sides between students and teachers at universities in the consortium of LifeADA project (it can be done also on other agricultural faculties in WBC

• Prof. Karmen Erjavec would prepare survey proposal• Time of collection of surveys: first two weeks of September• Survey would be in English (but it can be translated to local

language?)• Prof. Karmen Erjavec would make analysis of collected surveys and

would present results during the training.

Target audience of training

• The first set of lectures is designed for teachers and researchers (lecturers, tutors, mentors, supervisors, ...)

• The second part of training is devoted to those who communicate with the media, the public, or want to learn about students (mentors, supervisors, …)
