*PURPOSE OF THS ISO.The purpose of t ne ISC is to provide a social and cu lt.ur-a.L

locus of acti vi ty for the members of the Bates Cornmun i ty who wouldcontribute to a~d benefit from such an organization. To create anapprec~ation for the International Students at Bates College.To facilitate a better understanding among the International Students.To help increa.se the social exchange and interaction be twe en theInternational Students and the American Students.

*OBJECTIVES OF THS ISC.The 120 has four main objectives.

I)To serve the Bates Camnus.To grant to the International and American Students the opportunityto shar-e and exchange ideas about our respective culture, customsand religion. To ena.ble the International Students to learn froDthe American Students and vice-versa.

2)To serve the present International Students (IS).To encourage coa~unication among the IS in order for tl1em to learnfrom each other. The ISO as an organization should allow the ISto discuss their COl1l1'TIOn pr obLems and search for viable solutions.To act as the collective voice of the IS to the Bates Co~~unity.fro provide information and support for IS who are pLanrri ng toattend Graduate School.

3)To serve the future Internatio:::1.alStudents (IS).To help the future IS to ulan and prepare for their arrival atBates ie.to correspond with them and provide answers to theirquestions before their departtITe from home. To ease their transi-tion v/he n they have arrived at Bates i. e ~ to provide the necessaryassistance arid support to help them acclami tize and settle in.

4)To serve nast Interrilltional Students and IS at other Colleges.To keep the past IS informed about the progress and developmentof the ISC and other related matters. To enable the present ISto commun.i.ca t e VIith and obtain information about Graduate StudiesCareer Opportunities for Foreig:'lStudents from these past IS.To establish, maintain and improve interaction with IS at otherColleges ( Colby, Bowd oLn and U7:I?G ).

hereby establish this Constitution in order to promote socialand educational exchange between the American and International

Section 4 : The Treasurer is concerned ~ith all financial affairs

of the Club.

Section 5: The Adviser shall be the Foreign Student Adviser

Section 6: These Officers will be nominated and elected by the

terms will run for the full 2.cademic year including the Short Term.

official meet ing of the Club. The responsibility of s che du.Ld.ng
