Purpose and action points of the Commission for Extrication and New Technology
4
Purpose commission
Providing crucial information “free of charge” for every rescue worker
and others !!! Exchange of (international) knowledge; Developing training and course materials; Promoting close cooperation with the various manufacturers and organizations
(ACEA, JAMA, KAMA, OICA, UITP, ERA, RECHARGE…)

Sending new working item proposals to ISO. This concerning:
The training manual Vehicle The training manual Battery Standardized label for recognition of the
power source of a vehicle
Purpose commission
Sharing extrication methods concerning cars, trucks, busses, trains, airplanes;
Developing standard operation procedures concerning this items; Developing database! Developing courses and training materials in English; Collecting data about alternative energy sources ( full electric, hybrid, CNG,
LPG, LNG, Fuel cell, hydrogen direct combustion, and others…); Developing fire fighting measures on this vehicle’s and others…;

The rescue worker needs to receive all the information about vehicles they need, always at fast as possible.
This information from the constructors should be relevant to a rescue worker: fast (online) available, and each time in the same recognizable, uniform colour layout and this free of charge.
So they can: Get the needed crucial information at the intervention scene and for
training purposes Anticipate and change, if needed, the standard operation procedures
(SOP) and safety regulations in their country.

The proposed standard shall provide the useful and necessary information about cars, trucks, buses, trams, trains, airplanes,…
This with information included to recognise and understand the specific (new) dangers.
At present, there is no uniform free of charge international standard, to provide all this information.

Training manual vehicle
Training manual vehicle with information about : car, truck, bus,
tram, train, airplane,..
Always with the 9 same recognizable chapters.
The manufacturers have to fill in the necessary information in to the
respective chapters.

Always 7 recognizable chapters
This template training manual is developed to give specialized information about the batteries built in a hybrid or full electric vehicle, to rescue workers/towing and maintenance.
The training manual template should be completed by the battery supplier in consultation with the vehicle manufacturer for this specific model and type.

Justification for using the proposed symbols.
For rescue workers/fire fighters it is very difficult to know from the outside, which (alternative) fuel(s)/drive train(s) are used in vehicles involved in an accident or fire.
Many constructors use different commercial names for the same group of drive trains.
This is confusing for emergency workers and can lead to unnecessary risks during deployment.
It is necessary, to know from a distance the (potential) dangers we are dealing with.
For this reason uniform symbols for indification are needed.
