Part 4

Do not put out the Spirit’s fire. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them

all; hold on to what is good, reject whatever is harmful.

How to test prophecy

• Does it contradict the Bible?

• Does it glorify God/Jesus?

• Does it ‘strengthen, encourage, comfort’ (1 Cor. 14: 3)?

• What does our spirit say (1 John 4: 4)?

How to test prophecy

• Does it contradict the Bible?

• What does our spirit say (1 John 4: 4)?

• Does it speak of love (1 Cor.13)?
