Places to Visit… Sikkim – The land of pristine & mystic Beauty
Banjhakri Water Fall - Banjhakri Falls is a natural
waterfall sourced from springs at higher elevation.
Surrounded by jungle and a park, the waterfall and
its surroundings create a breathtaking scene. The water
here falls only about 12 m (40 ft), but you will find it
easy to get close to the cascade and into the water,
making it worth the journey. After your trip to the falls,
stop by the adjoining park, which houses sculptures
used in the shamanistic culture of the local people.
Peragliding at Gangtok - Enjoy an aerial view of the beautiful Sikkim Hills in
the company of a certified paragliding instructor, as you
experience the feeling of flying like a bird during a tandem
paragliding ride. All equipment is provided and no experience
is necessary! You will have a 10 minute briefing and safety
lesson, before embarking on your tandem flight, which will
usually last between 10 and 30 minutes depending on
weather conditions. With an experienced instructor piloting
your flight will Launch From Hill top and soar like a bird
along the mountains and over the Sikkim.
DAY – 1, Gangtok City Tour Attraction
Hanuman Tok - Hanuman Tok is renowned for its peaceful ambience
and fine views. Drive up to the high-altitude sanctuary to
enjoy the serenity, spiritual atmosphere, and lush greenery.
When you climb the stairs to get to the hilltop temple, you
can explore verdant parks, see the Hanuman idol, and take
in the unobstructed vista of Kanchenjunga, the world's third
highest mountain.

Tasomgo Lake - Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and picturesque
scenery of Tsomgo Lake, a sacred body of water nestled at
3,753 m (12,313 ft) in the Himalayan mountains. Take a
drive up from Gangtok to the lake area, and admire the
scenic surroundings along the way, or enjoy a ride
around the lake on a colorfully decorated yak. In summer
and fall, you’ll encounter colorful alpine flowers, such as
rhododendrons and primulas, around the azure, oval lake,
while in the winter you’ll find the lake frozen and the area covered in snow. To visit
the lake, you’ll need to obtain a permit from the tourist information center.
DAY – 2, Gangtok Nearby Attraction
Baba Harbajan Singh Mandir- Visit a holy place high up in the mountains
at Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, built to honor a 27-year-old soldier
who died while posted close to the Sino-Indian border. Singh's death
in 1968 has remained the subject of myth and spiritual belief:
the official version suggests that he was killed during a skirmish
on a mountain pass between Tibet and Sikkim, but others state
that he perished in a glacier. Legend has it that he visited one of
his colleagues in a dream and asked him to build a shrine here in
his memory. The shrine has become a moving tribute and a place of pilgrimage,
particularly for service personnel. Foreigners are not allowed at this spot
Nathula pass - An ancient branch of the Silk Road, Nathula Pass
is located at 4,309 m (14,140 ft) above sea level. The pass links
India and China by one of the world's most scenic mountain
roads, which winds its way across the rugged landscape and
crosses a glacial lake. Nathula Pass remains closed on Monday &
Tuesday. To visit the Nathula Pass you’ll need to obtain a permit
from the tourist information center.

DAY – 3, 4 & 5 Tour to North Sikkim (Lachung & Lachen stay)
1 NIGHT/ 2 DAYS (Lachung Stay)
Naga Water Fall has been situated at Northern Sikkim
District. The place offer panoramic view of snow-caped mountains
all around. Accommodations are available at the Lachung
Bhim Nala Water Fall also known as Amitabh Bacchan
Water Fall, lies on the road connecting Chungthang to Yumthang
Valley in North Sikkim district. It is one of the tallest waterfall shown
to tourists by local tour operators and
cab-drivers-cum-guides.
Seven Sister Water Fall is located 32 kilometers away
from Gangtok on the National Highway leading to North Sikkim.
To facilitate the tourists to savor the pristine beauty and to be
with nature, Tourism Department has set up a waiting shed and
cafeteria where they can take a break and shoot pictures.
Yumthang Valley: Observe the clear blue sky with a Himalayan
backdrop as you walk through the flower-filled Yumthang Valley.
Appreciate the natural scenery, untouched by
man. In the spring and summer, a range of
endemic flowers bloom, bringing color
throughout the valley and giving the
attraction its nickname:"the Valley of Flowers"
Yume Samdong (Zero Point) -Take a scenic drive up to Yume Samdong (Zero
Point), near the border with Tibet. The road from Yumthang Valley ends
here, after undulating through the rugged, mountainous
terrain, along forests, rivers, and fields of azalea flowers.
Trek the rough, snowy surroundings, take in the tranquil
atmosphere, and enjoy the view of the imposing mountains
at more than 4,500 m (15,000 ft). Due to the significant
military presence and the Chinese border just a few miles
away, you'll need a permit and the company of a guide to
visit the area.
2 NIGHT/ 3 DAYS (Lachung Stay)
Katao Valley is situated at an altitude of nearly 15000 and
staying at Lachung one can visit Katao. With the panoramic view of snow capped
peaks of the Himalayas, it is a rival to the much sought after Yumthang in beauty.
The valley is sparsely covered with poppy, primulas and rhododendron. A military
check-post is nearby. Katao Valley is around 24 kilometers from Lachung. The trip
to Katao is not in the standard packages of North Sikkim or Lachung tour. Guest
has to visit the place
at a supplement cost.
2 NIGHT/ 3 DAYS (Lachung + Lachen Stay)
Gurudongmar Lake Nestled in the Kanchenjungha mountain range at an
altitude of 5,425 m (17,800 ft), Gurudongmar Lake represents one of
the highest freshwater lakes in the world. When you visit,
take a moment to marvel at the surrounding snowcapped
mountains towering over the blue icy water. During the winter,
the lake freezes except for one spot, allegedly blessed by Guru
Nanak, the founder of Sikhism. You'll need an official permit to
visit this area, which lies close to the Chinese border.
Remember that the lake's high altitude can cause breathing problems.
Accommodations are available at the Lachen.

DAY – 6 Tour to South Sikkim (Namchi & Ravangla)Namchi Chardham To promote Religious Tourism in Sikkim,
this newly developed Pilgrimage-cum-Cultural Centre is
constructed on top of the Solophok Hill in South-Sikkim.
View for miles, the 26½ m high statue of Lord Shiva in sitting
posture that marks the location of the main temple. Apart
from this giant statue, the replicas of twelve Jyotirlingas along
with the four Dhams; Badrinath, Jagannath, Dwarka and
Rameshwaram are also installed in the complex (7 acres approx).
This stunning imitation of chardham amidst the serene nature
of Sikkim, has become one of the top tourist destinations in
Sikkim, especially among the devotees of Lord Shiva
Buddha Park, Ravangla Set in lush hills, Buddha Park
features a gigantic 130 ft (39.6 m) high Buddha statue built to
commemorate the 2,550 birth anniversary of the Gautama
Buddha. Traverse the 100 steps to the statue and venture inside
to witness its beautifully decorated interior--just keep in mind
that photography is prohibited inside. If you cannot manage
the steps, golf carts can transport you to the temple and back.
Ralang Monastry, Ravangla portrays the true spiritual side
of Sikkimese people. Located at a distance of 6 kms from
Ravangla, Ralang Monastery is easily accessible from Namchi
via Ravangla in South Sikkim district. The Monastery was built
to commemorate the successful pilgrimage of the fourth Chogyal
to Tibet.
DAY – 7 Tour to West Sikkim (Pelling)Khecheopalri Lake a peaceful body of water considered
sacred by locals. Situated near the town of Pelling, the
lake has a religious significance, and also lies at the center
of many folk legends. Take a relaxing walk and explore the
lush green surroundings, feed the many fish that reside in
the lake, or enjoy the view of the calm blue water surrounded
by forest.
Kanchenjunga Falls Conveniently located next to the road
for easy access, Kanchenjunga Falls pour off a cliff and
tumble into a pool below. Take your swimming gear if you
want to go swimming in the pool beneath the falls, which is
safe enough to swim in, but still requires some caution.
Due to its no-hassle access, this attraction is usually quite
crowded, but does offer convenient features like food stalls.
Less able-bodied visitors might struggle with the steep stairs.
Singshore Brid ge with an height of over 100 m and 240 m
in length, is the highest bridge in Sikkim and the second
highest bridge in Asia. You can feel the thrill when you are
standing in the middle of the bridge and the strong wind
blows. The river flowing through the uneven rocks seems
breathtaking along with the effusive sound of the waterfalls.
It is one among the oldest bridge that connects two hills and
shortens the travel time as well as the distance for the trekkers.
