If we have any liability to you for any loss you incur because of an error in this Commitment, our liability will be limited to your actual loss caused by your relying on this Commitment when you acted in good faith to:

Two years ago, QuikTrip identified a potential location near 37th Street North and Ridge Road. Now, that vision is about to become a reality.

Construction on a 5,700-square-foot store at 4051 N. Ridge Road is expected to start in August, QuikTrip Spokesman Mike Thornbrugh tells me.

He says that site could be open for business in January 2015.

The store will include a QT Kitchen and will be one of QuikTrip’s “Gen 3” stores, which are larger than their older convenience store counterparts.

QuikTrip has been aggressively updating existing stores and adding new ones to the Wichita market to help the company stay competitive.

Thornbrugh says companies like QuikTrip now are competing against grocers and other fresh-food providers.

“The lines are so blurred,” Thornbrugh says. “We’re competing against everybody.”

The announcement of a specific construction timetable for QuikTrip’s North Ridge Road store — first announced in 2012— comes about a month after buildingpermits were pulled for the construction of gas canopies for two potential new QuikTrip sites.

At the time, a construction timetable wasn’t disclosed publicly. QuikTrip also wants to add a Gen 3 store at 3520 N. Oliver, near 35th Street North and Oliver.

Thornbrugh says he wasn’t sure of when construction will start on that site.

The North Ridge location, meanwhile, is near an existing Kwik Shop at 7107 W. 37th North, a move QT rarely makes.

QuikTrip also has other Gen 3 stores already under construction. A store at 31st Street South and K-15 is expected to open in August. A replacement store that isgoing in at the northeast corner of 37th Street North and Rock Road is expected to open this year as well.
