The eighties was the decade of the keyboard revolution, and through his ballet projects Bjørnstad had an opportunity to collaborate with some of Norway's best sound designers and synthesizer programmers. All the music was composed, arranged and performed by Ketil Bjørnstad (Emulator, Korg, Moog, Yamaha and Fairlight keyboards), with Alf Emil, Eik Geir Langslet and Kjetil Bjerkestrand (keyboard and emultaor programming). Ketil Bjørnstad is one of Norway's most productive artists. He has an impressive list of achievements, and is a prizewinning author, musician and composer. So far he has managed to have around forty books published, and has released nearly sixty records in a variety of genres. His releases on ECM and Universal have earned him a growing international audience.

The Osborne Brothers were a bluegrass duo who became popular in the 1960s

and were the first group in the genre to perform on a college campus, as the

students interest in old folk music also swayed to old country and bluegrass music.

Red Sovine Hold Everything (Till I Get Home)


Presented here are two albums country star, Red Sovine released in 1961 and 1962. At the end of 1955 Red secured his first country No.1, a duet with Webb

Pierce entitled "Why Baby, Why". He enjoyed two more solo top 10 country hits with "Little Rosa" and "Hold Everything (Till I Get Home)".

Also featured are a plethora of classic country songs such as the jukebox favourites, "One is a Lonely Number" and "No Money in This Deal" plus covers of recent hits including "Tender Years", which was a No.1 hit for George Jones in 1961. Red actually suffered quite the hit "drought", however he still managed strong album sales and listening to the 24 tracks on this set we think that you will quickly see why he remained a popular draw in country music circles.

The alto saxophonist Martin Speake's meeting with pianist Douglas Finch is not

Martin's first recorded duet encounter with another master improviser, but it is

perhaps his finest spontaneously improvised set to date. This CD, the sixth to be released on Martin's Pumpkin Records label, features a selection of fifteen

tunes, all composed in the moment by Martin and Douglas. For Martin, the collaboration was as inspiring and challenging: "Playing and recording with Douglas was an unexpected delight...Douglas was a revelation to me and although our individual musical vocabularies are totally different there seems to be a place we can meet when playing. It is very exciting for me to hear where we go with each idea, which is really the unknown. Because he is not a jazz player, the traditions of accompanying, soloing and improvising within that musical language are absent, which forces me to play differently...The whole history of classical music is there at his fingertips and he is that rare classical musician as he can improvise in the moment with that awareness.
