EUI Comparison Plot:

Energy benchmarking enables a school site to evaluate their energy performance in terms of annual kBTU per

sq-ft, or Energy Use Intensity (EUI) and use that metric to make comparisons with similar sites. The plot below

presents the EUI found for each site in the Temple City Unified School District.

This report presents the recommended Prop 39 projects for each Temple City Unified School District site. IEC

conducted energy audits at the seven (7) District sites from Dec 2-5, 2014. The quantity, condition, and

characteristics of site equipment and buildings were surveyed during the audits, and this information was used

in combination with utility bills to assess energy use at the site and evaluate potential energy efficiency

measures using the CEC Energy Savings Calculator (Version 7).

This report provides energy use benchmarks for the Temple City Unified sites and evaluates the feasibility of the 21 energy

conservation measures identified by the CEC to be the most cost effective for energy savings. The Energy Expenditure Plan

submitted to the CEC for Prop 39 funding will need to present measures that have an overall composite SIR of 1.05 or

greater. Due to the SIR requirement, the District will need to select energy efficiency projects that balance capital costs with

energy savings. For the District, energy efficiency projects should also be prioritized based on the District’s Capital

Improvement Plan and other immediate needs.
