Pronunciation Phone Numbers: Ten Vowel Sounds
Look at the words below particularly the vowel sounds. Can you say each individual sound?
Can you hear the difference?

Now read out your telephone number only using the words above. Those that are listening have to
listen to the words and then write the corresponding numbers. For example, a telephone number
would be transcribed (“beat”, “bit”, “boot”, etc = 0, 1, 3). Write your partner’s telephone number
below and then check to see if you are correct.
